@kentuckygirl: Yeah I think the holiday is messing with people's schedules a bit. I saw a lot more people in there yesterday than I did on Thursday!

Merry Christmas and a very happy holiday to everyone. Hang in there with the gatherings, take it easy if you need to, and I hope all of your wishes come true!

@spaniellove: how are you handling the meds with your allergy? My RE wasn't open at all yesterday.

Merry Christmas to you all too!!! I hope the New Year leads to many great things for all of you!

@kentuckygirl: I've gotten it down to a routine by now. Since my allergist insists that I do worse when I'm overloaded with different allergens, I'm eating very small, super-safe meals and nothing 2 hours before or after the injection. That keeps the reaction down to some predictable cramping which isn't too bad. Are you bruising at all?

  5. kentuckygirl

    pear / 1786 posts

@spaniellove: glad you have been able to help control your reaction so that you can keep taking the meds! I have only had one small bruise so far. Last cycle I gave myself the HCG trigger shot & got an awful bruise. Are you bruising much?

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@kentuckygirl: I wasn't at first but am bruising now and seem to be running out of good injection sites. Tonight I used what seemed like the one good spot I had left and found that I couldn't get any of the solution into it, no matter how hard I pushed the plunger! So halfway through I had to find a new spot.

@spaniellove, @kentuckygirl: my RE office was open a half day Christmas Eve and it was super busy in there. Way worse than normal. Oh and we had to do a trigger shot secretly last night at a holiday party. It was the most comedic thing ever but it worked. Huge lh surge today and iui tomorrow. I feel so bad for you guys doing daily injectables.

@marionberry: Wow, sounds hard to give yourself a shot at a party! Good luck with the IUI tomorrow!

@kentuckygirl: thanks! Ya we had to sneak in a bathroom together and then i realized I'd forgotten the alcohol swab. We just decided he'd stab me anyway because as he said to me, "you're clean" lol. Thank god he used to be a nurse or it would've been much worse. Somehow my family didn't notice.

EEEK. IUI in 4 hours and counting. My belly is a mess today because I'm so nervous. DH goes in in 2 hours and given his history I'm worried about him failing to give a sample and this whole thing being ruined. But I'm going to try to ignore that and hope that today might be the day we make a baby.

@marionberry: like on Grey's anatomy whenever Derek is in surgery....,,it's a beautiful day to make a baby!!! (Instead of it's a beautiful day to save lives)

@jennimac: You are sweet. Thank you! I hope it's a great day to make babies for all of us (or perhaps a great week or two).

@marionberry: Good luck!!!! You guys are gonna do great today! Maybe can you take like a quarter of a Pepto tablet? It's enough to calm your tummy but not enough to stop you up, if you know what I mean.

@spaniellove: Thanks. Ya that's not a bad idea!

@kentuckygirl: Hope your u/s went well today! I definitely have a few more days go (they were 15, 13, 12, 11, 10, and smaller) but the RE thinks I'll end up with 2 mature follicles. Part of me is thinking, OMG I did all this for 1 extra egg? But I know they scaled it back, so it's okay. Hoping this answers part of your question about follicle development!

@Marionberry Good luck, fingers crossed for you! Saw on another thread you were thinking about not charting and I personally would advocate for that. I didn't and I think it was the right decision for me...
@Spaniellove Those sound like great follie numbers, similar to what mine were, I think. And remember, even with two follicles, your chances of conceiving are doubled!

@spaniellove: Thanks! I had my ultrasound this morning but didn't ask about the specific sizes of my follicles. When do you go back?

I do have three good looking follicles on one side and some smaller ones on the other side. I go back on Friday, will probably trigger this weekend and IUI probably on Monday!

Update-DH failed to give his sample at the office and now we're at home hoping he can get it done here in the next hour or else our iui gets cancelled. Trying my best to hold it together and be patient with him but really upset that this all may be for nothing.

@marionberry: Oh sweetie OMG. Sending you big hugs and lots of happy sexy thoughts to your DH so he can get it done (hope that's not creepy, lol). Since you're both home... can you.. help the process along? At least get it started?

@kentuckygirl: I go back Friday too. My DH actually goes with me and I make him write down everything he hears! They decreased my dosage because my E2 levels jumped from 431 on Monday to 1188 today. Three good looking follicles sounds pretty promising!

Posted this on the holiday miracle thread. Posting it again for you guys.

    No Christmas BFP.
Today is 12 DPO and BFN on wondfro strips.
One of my best friends told me that she is 10 weeks pregnant on Christmas. I'm so happy for her. It would be so awesome to be pregnant with her,
I know, I still have a chance and its not over until AF comes.
Although, since I had two mature follicles at my ultrasound before the IUI, *if* I was pregnant with twins then I would have gotten an early BFP because of all the hormones in my body. I googled 'twins when get BFP.' Oops. Kinda a bad idea.
Feeling a little discouraged that it might not be my month. I have a little hope that I'll get a gift for New Years.

@marionberry: congrats on getting the "sample" for the IUI. Hopefully this is your month for a BFP!

@bluestriped bee: I hate seeing the BFN, especially after a IUI. 12 DPO is still early, so you do have a chance.

I went to the doctor today for my follicle scan. I am on CD 10 and had 3 follicles that were each 12mm. She was a little concerned with the linning of my uterus since it is only 3.5 mm right now. Hopefully that thickens up in the next few days! Last month I had my IUI on CD 10 since I had a 22mm follicle that was about to burst, but it looks like this will be a longer cycle. We probably won't do the IUI until Monday or Tuesday. I have another follicle scan on Saturday. She told me that if this cycle does not work, she wants to put me on viagra next cycle. The viagra is supposed to help thicken the lining of your uterus. Has anyone heard of this before? I've googled this a little, but I really don't like Dr. Google.

@bluestripedbee: hang in there a couple days. No reason to count yourself out yet.
@justdarling: good luck on your iui! Will you also get horny on the Viagra?

AFM, miraculously great sample! 20 million and 65% forward swimming. I blood test on January 7th. Now onto the TWW. What a crazy day!

@bluestriped bee: Hoping that you get a New Year's BFP!

@justdarling: I have not heard about Viagra to help with your lining, but best wishes that you don't even need it because you get a BFP instead!

@marionberry: Yay for a great sample!!!

@justdarling: Viagra is a PDE5 inhibitor. It's been know to help with smooth muscle lining. http://www.mpresearchsupply.com/store/pages/What-Are-PDE5-INHIBITORS%3F.html

So it should help. Hope it helps you.

@marionberry: Congrats on the great sample!
I thought the same thing about the viagra! I got really horny after I went off of BC so I don't think my DH could handle it if the viagra also made me horny!

@bluestriped bee: Thanks for the info. It does help.
