@spaniellove: Look at you, you little alphabetizer

Yes, I did have my third beta today. Numbers have gone up, but I'm still cautiously optimistic. Beta #4 next Monday. I feel like continuing to schedule bloodwork appointments doesn't really give me much room to feel 100% about this just yet, which is why I'm not ready to join any pregnancy boards yet. But knowing that I CAN get pregnant is definitely a step in the right direction. Especially after 20 months of trying.

@sweetooth: Ooh I've been caught. Guilty...

I've been waiting and waiting for you to say something about your beta and finally got so impatient that I had to ask you! One of these days you'll have your u/s and it will be real!

    thank you ladies...

so i think the Dr. is still holding on posting some of my results but the one i did find online for me was my TSH which was at 1.94 (KP standard range 0.10-5.50)

the pic is results of DH SA results....

  4. Shutterbug

    grapefruit / 4703 posts

@MrsCastro: I don't know anything about SA (DH is getting his tomorrow) but I do know a lot about TSH and yours is perfect. You want it to be between 1 and 2 (my RE says under 2.5) for TTC.

  5. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@MrsCastro: That SA looks good! And WHOA - check out that count! Are you able to see what the note is? (Where they say "see note") The motility looks good, morphology looks good, and count looks good.

@MrsCastro: I agree with @spaniellove. Everything looks great! Thyroid and SA. Doesn't sound like either of those are your issue.

Its 4:30 am and I can't sleep. Feeling emotionally sick about our decision to only transfer one embryo (see the update thread for why if interested) but know it is logically the right decision for us. The difficulty of this step totally came out of left field. IVF is such a roller coaster. Transfer is today. Sorry I have missed the last couple pages of updates-just been trying to do lots of research on eset (elective single embryo transfer) and having a very tough time making the decision.

  8. Shutterbug

    grapefruit / 4703 posts

@raintreebee: hugs!! Will you have many embryos to freeze? Maybe knowing you can do a 2 embryo fet if this eset isn't successful (if you want to) will help put you at ease a little? I'm thinking of you today!

  9. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@raintreebee: Sorry this is so agonizing for you! It is such a tough decision. If it helps any, our IVF coordinator told us that basically transferring a second doesn't really increase the chances of getting pregnant...it increases the chances of the first bringing along a friend if you were going to get pregnant anyway.

@raintreebee: HUGS! I just posted over on the update thread, but I thought I would come over here and say good luck too! No matter what, you have made the right decision for you and your husband. Trust that.

@MrsCastro: I'm not much help with interpreting your information - but I'm amazed that you have digital records/results! Every piece of information I've received from my RE has been spoken word. I have to remember it and write it down!

Sorry I've been missing for several days now, but it's so great to get on here and know that I'm not alone in this. Just been an emotional and rough few days. We decided to hold off on any fertility procedures until we get across the country - we are moving at the end of May. It's a little disheartening, but we're hoping things will take off quickly once we get there. In the meantime, I have tried using Soy Isoflavones. My RE told me clomid was the next step for me, so I figured I'd give these a try since I've heard they are similar. This is my first cycle using them, and so far so good. I got my LH surge one day early, though I'll change it up on my next cycle to see if I can get O to come 2-3 days early. If anyone has tried this, let me know! I'd be interested to hear how it went for you.

@raintreebee: I hate that infertility is all guesswork and there is so much second guessing and unknowns to mull over. I go for a few days before I realize all I think about 24 hours a day is our fertility problems. I hope you are able to find peace in the choices you are making and good luck!

@mrs.castro: I am so happy to hear your story! For me, infertility has brought on emotions like never before. I never cry and I am truly hard to offend, but infertility has completely changed that. Two of my SIL's are pregnant right now and I'm having a hard time dealing with family. I know it's wrong to try and completely cut myself off from them, but maybe that's just what I need for a little while. I hope to get to where you are! Thanks for sharing.

@alie: So glad you posted because I am exactly where you are. I have about 7 friends pregnant right now mostly for the 2nd time. I hear so many complain about how life is so hard - and I'm sure getting little sleep, gaining weight, and life with baby generally is very, very hard, but the emotional difficulty of infertility is also hard and I don't think people who haven't gone through it can understand (though that doesn't really make insensitive remarks feel better.) I have also foolishly mentioned that we were ttc to a few close friends, only to have those "friends" avoid me - as if infertility was infectious or something! Hope you feel better soon, just wanted to let you know that there are others dealing with the same thing

@mrs.halfsie: Sorry to hear you're having a hard time lately, we definitely understand around here! Are you still planning on moving to Seattle? If so, let me know if you have any questions, or need referrals. Also, I've recently read about the soy, but I'm afraid of adding more estrogen, since I think I may have too much as it is.

Thanks for the well wishes ladies. At our transfer today, the doctor walked in and said we needed to transfer two since the embryos were of average quality. We immediately pushed back, and she admitted that this would only raise our chances by 10% but, if pregnancy resulted, we would have a 30% chance of twins. I would LOVE healthy twins, but my anxiety issues would cause me to be a nervous wreck throughout the pregnancy or if, god forbid, something went wrong. So after a lot of soul-searching, I just don't think I have the personality to take on that risk, at least on our first IVF. Anyway, the doctor went back to the lab and said that the two embryos had developed such that they were now of the highest quality (4AA) so she changed her tune. We froze one, and may be freezing more tomorrow. Lots of movies and cuddling with DH tonight in hopes that the love will make the baby stick!!!!! Btw, the whole holding your urine thing was NOT fun.

@mrs.halfsie: So sorry there is more waiting ahead of you. It will be nice, though, to wait until you are settled to start. Wish you the best of luck with the move!

Well, it looks like I can add my name to the list of graduates. My beta is now high enough to let myself do a little dance and let go of 1 ounce of worry.

I cannot thank you all enough for the support you have given me on this thread. When I joined HB I was in a dark place. I was just about to reach the 14th month mark of trying and I had scheduled my appointment with the RE. I had a hard time accepting that I was moving into medical intervention methods to get pregnant. And 6 months later, I'm at the beginning of another transition. I look forward to seeing the entire list of women on this thread become graduates. We all deserve it. Thank you again for helping me through this.

Thanks for your kind words! I feel like 80% of the time I get on here to vent since I'm not undergoing any treatments to keep up to date, but I really am so glad I found all of you!

@mrs.someone: I sent you a message I'm trying to soy since my doctor has told me my estrogen levels are normal and she was going to put me on clomid anyways. I'm still only on month 2 of my gluten free diet, so I wanted to really give that a chance before I turned it all over to an RE. Soy seemed like a good middle ground to make me feel like I was doing something while I wait.

@sweetooth: Thank you so much for your nice response and CONGRATS! I was so happy to see your good news!
