@kentuckygirl: Hmm...it probably doesn't matter too much but I'm with you about today being CD13. I wonder if you had a surge Friday but not enough to O? Do you ever get a surge a few days before O? Since they're measuring your LH they probably would have called you if they thought you were surging enough on your own. Plus, I think Menopur contains LH so it could do funky things to your LH levels. I hope everything looks great at tomorrow's u/s!

@marionberry: I wouldn't read too much into not having sore boobs yet; you did mess with your hormones by taking Clomid! And whatever your temps do for the first few days doesn't matter much anyway. Like @Kentuckygirl said, hopefully different is good!

  4. kentuckygirl

    pear / 1786 posts

@spaniellove: Glad to know they are probably measuring my LH. Again, I am sure I am worrying for nothing. Just needed to say it to someone and your reassurances along with @marionberry do make me feel better, so thank you!!!

@spaniellove: Music really does help, doesn't it? I actually bought a little ipod shuffle for myself and I'm only putting relaxing music on it. So whenever I need a moment, I just turn that on and tune out for a bit. I'll have to check out those Pandora stations. // I hope you find what you're looking for in a coach. I think it's important not to spend time with anyone right now that isn't nourishing. // I also really like your idea of making the IUI meds process a soothing ritual. Thanks for sharing

@marionberry: Did you end up having any side effects from the Clomid? Last night was my worst night. I was up a lot to use the bathroom and I was super hot. I wonder if the drinking didn't help though - I had a few small glasses of wine. It's so hard right now to avoid drinking at all of the end of year social gatherings. I want to partake because I hope that at this time next year I'm busy with a baby.

@spaniellove: Glad to hear everything went well with your IUI! Thinking lots of positive thoughts for you

@kentuckygirl: Hope everything goes well with your appointment today. It's so hard not to worry about the details in this process, isn't it? For me, it feels like when you're involving medicine in this process you really want to get it right. I understand the worrying and questioning - just want you to know you have some company

We are doing IUI today! I have one follicle, yes just one, good follicle that is around 21. She does think I must have released the egg(s) from my right side already. I am hoping DH sperm count is ok today since we BD last night. Wish us luck, please!

@kentuckygirl: Good luck good luck good luck! You'll do great! My fingers are crossed for you guys. It can totally work with one great follicle!

@sweetooth: I had horrible hot flashes that I'd get in the middle of the night each day that I took Clomid. I also had horrible cramps one day (where I'm assuming my body was on egg making overdrive). Oh and I really don't know what to do at NYE tonight...I can't drink but I'm going to be with family and don't want them thinking I'm pregnant already. Ugh.

@kentuckygirl: Congrats! One big follicle is a very pregnatable follicle and who knows..you may have already hit the ones on the right. I think this is going to work out well for you!

Wow, so many of you are having IUIs close together! I hope that means good news soon

I haven't been around too much lately, my ILs are in town for 2 weeks (1 left) and I'm going a little crazy.

As for my TWW, I'm about halfway through and semi-convinced it worked (as always). My chart looked great until this morning, but I did wake up early due to a cold and decided to temp after tossing and turning a bit (and deciding I needed to get up). So I'll probably discard today's temp anyway. Otherwise, I'm still taking my tea and I should have an acupuncture appointment later this week where she will hopefully give me good news based on my pulse (I don't plan to test until Sat when AF is due and ILs are gone).

Happy New Year everyone! Hope its a good one

@marionberry: Can you make your own drinks or will someone else be making them for you?

  12. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@spaniellove: Usually my aunt will be like, "what do you want? a beer, a glass of wine, a shot...". She doesn't give me the option usually of mixing my own. Perhaps I could mix some sprite and cranberry at home to take over and pretend it's cran vodka but after I finish it, she'll be sure to want to make me something more. I'm thinking perhaps I'll use my low thyroid/avoid alcohol thing as an excuse after that? She's going to see right through this...

  13. Mrs.Someone

    pomelo / 5228 posts

@marionberry: How about telling her you're on antibiotics and you're not allowed to mix them with alcohol?

@kentuckygirl: tons and tons of good luck to you!

@marionberry: I know what you mean about avoiding people providing you with drinks. Last night they just kept topping wine glasses off. I wanted to say no more - but I also didn't want to have to address the "are you pregnant" question. In the end I just slowly nursed the glass that felt like I was overdoing it. You're much further along though in the process, so use your best judgement. I think @Mrs.Someone has a great idea with the antibiotics thing. Or maybe say - only my husband knows how to mix me a perfect vodka cranberry. And he can just pour cranberry in a cup!

@Mrs.Someone: Thinking positive thoughts for you! Happy New Year to you too!

And Happy 2013 to everyone on this thread - this is going to be our year!

  17. Trailmix

@Kentuckygirl Remember, one follicle is what most people have each month and with the IUI, you're still ahead of the game!

Happy 2013 to you all, I know it will be a great year filled with BFPs!

  18. kentuckygirl

    pear / 1786 posts

    @sweetooth: thank you!!!

@Trailmix: very true! It's just that after giving myself so many shots, it would have been nice to have more than one egg. But maybe we caught the early egg with our BD!

If I am not PG this cycle, I am going to ask if they would recommend Ganirelix with IUI for me.

  19. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@sweetooth: Thanks for the ideas. We figure we'll come up with something. I appreciate all the help. And ya, I wouldn't have minded a little bit of drinking but the doctor said after my iui to pretend i was pregnant, aka no alcohol. So I'm gonna feel really bad if I drink any.

@Grace: A happy new year to you too! This is the year you get to meet your baby!

@alie: Happy new year and good luck with your Clomid cycle!

Happy New Year to everyone on this thread!! Hoping 2013 is a big year for all of us and we get that BFP or a LO one way or another.

I mentioned this on another thread I started but the DH and I have decided to try adoption if these next IUIs don't work. Nothing against IVF but we just don't know if we want to go that route.

I do kinda still want to be physically pregnant so the DH and I are still discussing possibly using a sperm donator.

  27. spaniellove

@bluestriped bee: Happy New Year to you too! I hope this year brings you happiness. Does having a plan in place make you feel more at ease? You will become a mom, no matter what it takes. And now you have an arsenal of things you can be working on to achieve your goal! Just checking, is there an MFI issue? Is that why you're thinking about a sperm donor?

@Trailmix: Thank you, and happy new year to you! Hope all is well with your pregnancy!

@marionberry: I think your doctor's advice is good, avoiding alcohol after the IUI. How did everything go New Year's eve?

@alie: Happy New Year and good luck with your first Clomid cycle! I just finished my first round of Clomid yesterday, but I will be pairing it with IUI. You're trying Clomid on its own this cycle, right?

@ChuckNorris: Thanks for popping in to say hi and happy new year! Hope all is well with you

@Grace: Happy New Year! Hope you are doing well with your pregnancy.

@bluestriped bee: Good for you and your husband in talking through the next steps. But I do hope that IUI can be successful for you!

@spaniellove: Should we check in again and list out the upcoming dates? So we can be sure to send positive thoughts to everyone that needs them as they find out their IUI results? I think there are about 4-5 of us in a cycle right now. My CD12 appointment is 1/6 - I'll find out my IUI date after that.

  30. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@sweetooth: The first thing my aunt did when I got to her house was ask me if she could make me a drink. I knew it would happen! So I ended up saying I would in a bit and then when she was busy helping other people make drinks I went over and made a glass of coke zero and put the smallest amount of malibu rum in. I figured it's such a weak alcohol and if she saw me put alcohol in it I wouldn't get lots of questions. I slowly sipped on it and maybe drank half of the glass by the end of the night. It may have been a little bit of caffeine and a very little bit of alcohol but it's much better than having to take a shot or having people ask me if I was pregnant all night. So glad there will be no more holiday parties for quite awhile!

    I agree about an update!

@spaniellove:, @kentuckygirl: any symptoms yet? I had cramping for up to 3 days after the IUI and then absolutely nothing. This morning I had a small bit of cramping again. I have had less symptoms since the IUI then a normal TWW. It's weird. 5 more days to go until I know if it worked..and they're dragging!

  31. kentuckygirl

    pear / 1786 posts

@marionberry: No symptoms yet and I told myself today not to try and symptom spot. I start progesterone supplements tonight and my past experience with them is that they mimic/cause pregnancy symptoms. I am trying to decide if I want to test out my HCG trigger shot to see if it fades back in or if I am just going to wait until 14 DPO to test for the first time.... Are you just going to wait for your blood test? Sounds like you did well with avoiding drinking on NYE! About your symptoms being different than other TWW, I am again hoping that different is good!!!

Hello to everyone else that has stopped by our lovely little thread to say hi! Hope you all are doing well and had a great New Year!

So I miss the fact that the Hellobee blog has not had much on early pregnancy or TTC lately. I know that they are only considering guest blogs on TTC and no TTC bees. I don't know specifically what "we" would write about but have any of you thought about sumbitting a guest post?

I don't have a personal blog but have thought about the fact that in 10 years, when I have a couple of kids running around, it would be nice to have some record of this time in our lives. Has anyone else thought about a blog post?

@kentuckygirl: I'm far too shy and poor of a writer, but I think it's a great idea. This thread has been invaluable to help me understand both the different fertility paths people take, and also to know that not everyone gets pregnant right away. I don't have any IRL friends who have been through IF, so it's nice to know I'm not the only one in the world. I think having that reflected on the blog more would be good! I know that most of the TTC bloggers disappeared, and Mrs. Blue graduated (yay!), but they wouldn't want a TTC/IF bee blogger? I'd love it for one of you guys to do it

@sweetooth: Yep, no IUI for now. My RE didn't think it was necessary to jump there just yet without trying Clomid alone first for at least three cycles. Taking my first pill tonight and feeling equally anxious and excited!

  35. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@sweetooth: That would be a great idea! Especially since things seem to be changing so quickly.

@marionberry: I had some ovary cramping and spotting for a day or two after the IUI, but I chalked that up to my being so stimulated plus the procedure. What amazed me was that the Ovidrel made me feel nothing other than horribly painful nips. But now I'm doing the Endometrin and have gunk leaking out of me day and night, blech. Other than that...nothing!

@kentuckygirl: I miss that too. There actually isn't an infertility board so our posts go into TTC or Fertility Treatments. I've considered writing a guest post, maybe once I'm done with everything. One of the issues with a guest post is, how do I boil all of this down to one guest post? I couldn't even begin to capture everything I'd want to share about TTC or infertility in one post, OMG.

  36. spaniellove

@kentuckygirl: (hanging my head in shame) I'm testing out my trigger, if nothing else because I've always encouraged others to do it. today is 4dpt and the first day it's looked somewhat faded.

  37. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@spaniellove: Oh man you're going to start teasing me with testing out your trigger? I had decided not to do it, but man if yours is already starting to fade at 4dpiui then at 7dpiui it should be almost gone for me. I think I'm just not prepared for never seeing it come back. I'm sorry you have things leaking out...but at least you know your progesterone isn't an issue. I think I'd feel much safer if I was getting to take some.

@kentuckygirl: I had my own blog talking about all of this stuff until somehow people at work found it and it became this giant issue. I haven't written since. But I agree that it's almost not cool that there isn't a TTC or IF blogger. It almost feels like we're not important enough to have blog posts. Does anyone know the true reason why they don't have them anymore? Smart trying not to symptom spot. I am more like wishing I had symptoms to spot lol. I had decided not to test until the blood test (since it's at 12dpiui) but now spaniellove has me almost wishing I was testing out my trigger.

  38. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@marionberry: But you can't start in the middle! We're doing a bunch of IVF paperwork and financial stuff before the 2WW is over so I thought it would help me move forward if I knew what was happening. Or not happening. The idea of it not coming back is scary, and a great reason NOT to test out the trigger!

Couldn't they at least do a devoted series that we could contribute posts to, anonymously or not? Like about charting basics, the preconception visit, when it's time to see an RE, a breakdown of different fertility treatments, mythbusting, what to say/not say to your infertile friends and family, etc?

  39. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@spaniellove: Exactly! I think a few of us have certainly become experts on all of that so far! Your reason for testing out the trigger makes sense. I think I'm going to fight the urge to start now.

About the blog, this is just my opinion, but I guess the reason they stopped having TTC bloggers is that it's just too hard. It's such an emotional journey with ups and downs, excitement of a BFP and in some cases the low of a loss. They are accepting guest posts though. I think the topic list you came up with @spaniellove is a great list! Like you, it's hard to think about writing a post about TTC when you don't have your happy ending yet. I think I am going to try writing down my IF journey. If nothing else, then I will have it for future memories. Maybe, depending on how it goes, I'll have enough to say to submit it. It would be super cool if several of us submitted posts on different topics or how our experiences varied.
