Again, thanks everyone. I can't explain how much it means to me. So excited to follow all of you to your BFPs too. Spreading any luck I have your way! And I'm proof that literally all you need is the insemination. We never BD'd any other day of our fertile period.
@spaniellove: is it getting lighter each day or staying the same?
@Grace: first you, then me...our original group may be starting a very positive trend.
@sweetooth: I love that you did a happy dance. I'm leaving soon so I can do one myself.

@spaniellove: So you see a different doctor, lab tech, etc. every time you're in too? I am happy for the flexibility - but I really thought today for an actual procedure I would have seen my doctor. Makes me wish I had just chosen a random doctor in the beginning since it's really just about getting in there and getting started. I do like my doctor though, no regrets.

@marionberry: I'll get 3 days in a row that look the same, then the next one is lighter, then those 3 next days look the same, then they lighten, and so on. It's funny because I thought each one would be lighter!
@sweetooth: Yup, my guess is they rotate sort of according to days of the week b/c my doctor is always there on Wednesdays. Do you at least always see your own doctor for consults? The first time a different doctor walked in (and this one is still my least favorite, honestly) I had a hard time with it.

@marionberry: I seriously hope so! First Jojo, then Grace, now you, next spaniel (fingers xed!) y'all are leaving me in the dust!

@marionberry: Congratulations and heartfelt wishes for you and your family! So excited for you. Yay!

@spaniellove: That's what I would've thought too. Weird. Can't wait for it to finally be gone so that we can see if it comes back. Did your RE tell you to just POAS or come in?
@shutterbug: It's really good that you're getting your thyroid back in check first. Then you'll be good to go! I'm sure you won't be far behind us. Turns out I misheard my nurse and it was only 2.9 but they still want it lower. I'll have to see what they say next time I see my dr. I have a feeling they'll put me on a low dose of thyroid.
@derevival: Thank you so much!

@shutterbug: Don't worry, I'm still here with you
@marionberry: I'm so happy for you!!!

@ladybee: @shutterbug: And I may be pregnant but I'm still here for both of you. I'm gonna be your cheerleader like jojogirl lol.
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@ladybee: not for long I hope! Or else we can both join the other side
@marionberry: you better stick around! And YOU'RE PREGNANT!! Have you said it out loud yet? Ahhh!
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@marionberry: ps - when are you gonna POAS and post a pic? Pics or it didn't happen
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Shutterbug: so I poas and it was super faint. Makes sense since I've been drinking water and peeing all day. I'll test tomorrow morning and see if I get a better result to post.

@marionberry: and that dip earlier could have been implantation which would mean the baby has been making hcg for a couple of days......I bet it will be darker with fmu !! So happy for you!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Jennimac: Exactly..given the dip I think is implantation..the baby's only been making hCG for 6 days. I am headed to get regular tests at Walgreens shortly that we'll try out tomorrow with FMU. I can't wait to take a pic of a digital that says pregnant!

@marionberry: EEEE!!! How exciting! Are you pinching yourself?! I hope you jumped up and down last night when you got home and again when you saw these
pomelo / 5041 posts
@sweetooth: I think I'm so excited and at the same time petrified. I keep thinking that tomorrow I'm going to wake up and see a negative. It will pass after a beta test or two though I think. I honestly can't believe this actually worked. We were so worried about how to keep paying for IUIs if it didn't.

I have had some crazy dreams about my next IUI. I had a coworker drawing blood to help with the IUI. It wasn't for blood tests, it was mixing it in with the deposit. Crazy & gross!!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@bluestriped bee: Oh weird dream...but maybe your mind focusing on the IUI is good. We want everything in your body to be thinking, GET PREGNANT, when they inseminate. I'm crossing my fingers for you!

@Leialou: Thank you! We're still in shock but very excited!
@kentuckygirl: Thanks again! You're testing out the trigger too right?
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@marionberry: thanks. That's a good way of thinking of it. I was already thinking of the dream negatively.
So I just left the dr's office. My day 13 ultrasound (following femera meds) was okay. First follicle was 11.5 and the second was enlarged at 26. Also my lining was kinda thin. Nurse said there is still a chance I could get pregnant. No trigger shot this month. So I will have to use OPKs and schedule my IUI when I get a positive OPK.
I'm not as excited this month but trying to think positive thoughts but not to much because I don't want to get my hopes up again.
Told the nurse to tell my dr that I would like the float test on the DH's sperm. I also mentioned that we might consider using a sperm donator.

@marionberry: ahh, so exciting!!! Sorry, for the late comment. I thought I posted after your pics but see that I didn't!! Yay for digital tests!!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@bluestriped bee: a follicle that's 26 seems great! My biggest was not even close to that. Even if your lining is a little thin it doesn't seem impossible that it would work. Do you have your DH's sperm washed before the IUI? Or what's the float test?
A girl at work ended up doing IVF with donor sperm because her and her DH couldn't get pregnant. They just made sure all of the donor's characteristics matched her husband. The kid now calls the guy his donor dad. It's cute the way they have made it all work. Hope this gives you inspiration if you go that way.

@marionberry: Congratulations!!! I am so excited for you!!!!
I had another ultrasound yesterday. This month is going to be our 3rd IUI and we are doing Femara, menopur injections and a hgc trigger shot. After the ultrasound yesterday, it looks like the menopur is out this month. I somehow got a cyst on my right ovary. We have to wait for that to either burst or somehow disappear before we can start the injections. I was told to continue with the femara and opks and if I get a positive opk we'll do the IUI. If I don't get pregnant this cycle and still have the cyst, then I have to go on birth control for a month. Not the greatest doctor's appointment....but I'm learning to deal with disappointment. Hopefully the femara works this cycle and we get pregnant!

@marionberry: Yes, I am testing out the trigger. I had a very faint line yestersay which appears to be gone today (8 days past trigger). Hoping I see it fade back in in the next few days!

@bluestriped bee: hoping your one big follicle is all you need!
@justdarling: hoping the Femara along does the trick! Have you ever taken Femara by itself?
apricot / 452 posts
@kentuckygirl: I've done 2 IUIs with femara alone. Last month I took femara and didn't ovulate. It was the first time that I haven't ovulated since I started keeping track. This is a very frustrating process.

@justdarling: it is very frustrating! Hope last month was a fluke & you O this month with the Femara! Hugs!

Well I just had an interesting appointment with my naturopath. SO glad I switched to her from my OB. She tested me on 7dpo for MTHFR, thyroid antibodies, and progesterone. ALL of them came back with an issue. We didn't spend much time talking about it, since I have a sinus infection that is more pressing.
Anyway, I have 2 mutations of MTHFR, which means I don't absorb folic acid well (one of the bloggers wrote about it, so I'm at least a little familiar!) Also, I have some thyroid antibodies that indicate Hashimoto's. Don't know too much about it, but I can ask Dr. Google of course.
So I'm going in again next week to talk more about it, and get a game plan. But I'm SO happy to know whats going on, and that they are fixable problems. She said that its likely this is why I haven't gotten pregnant, and likely the cause of my MC.
Weird to be happy to find out things are wrong with me, huh?
nectarine / 2705 posts
@marionberry: Makes sense completely. Guarded optimism. I bet it was still pretty awesome to see that second line though How does the continued beta testing work? Do you go in every day for a while?
@bluestriped bee: 26 sounds great! I know it is hard to continue to ride the rollercoaster. But that's why we're all here for each other. If you need to have a low day, we're here to keep the hopes up high for a positive cycle this time Crazy dream, btw!
@justdarling: Learning to deal with the disappointment, sigh. Good - but still, such a hard place to be. Well I hope that this cycle works out for you! Does a cyst bursting hurt? Hopefully that's not too painful.
@kentuckygirl: So do you have a week to go before your bloodwork?
@Mrs.Someone: Not weird at all! I'm glad you were able to get more information. Sounds like your naturopath is very thorough. I'm glad you have a doctor that you like. Good luck as you work towards your game plan!

@Mrs.Someone: My mom has Hashimoto's - once it's diagnosed, I think it's fairly easy to manage. She takes something daily (I don't remember what) but isn't really bothered by it. So don't let Dr. Google stress you out about it
pomelo / 5228 posts
@sweetooth: Thanks! Its definitely a relief to have a doc that is willing to look for an answer
@alie: Thanks for the info! From what I can tell, its the MTHFR that can cause Hashimoto's, and both are very common and treatable. I'm already on thyroid meds, and it looks like I'll probably need to take a lot of B6, B12, and folic acid. It might be worth asking your doctor if you can get tested for these things, since they are genetic?
