@kentuckygirl: good luck on your iui tomorrow! I had cramps for three days after my iui and swore that we actually got pregnant in those later days. So excited and hopeful for you!

@spaniellove: Thanks! Yes, DH had to come down to my office today to give me the trigger shot.
@Leialou: I would be happy to send it to you. I rarely read books more than once. If you want it, hopefully we can find a time when we are both on the thread, I can post my email (then delete it quickly) and we can work out the details from there if you are interested.
@justdarling: Thank you very much!!!
@marionberry: Thanks!!! We have BD 2 times in the past 3 days, we'll do IUI tomorrow and then hopefully BD again on Friday night. I don't know what more we can do, so I pray this takes!

@Leialou: Sorry, I was doing some other things. Are you around now? I do want to warn you, there were sad parts (but we are living some of those, right?) but definitely a happy ending!

@Leialou: I'm going to call it a night, hopefully we can catch up soon and connect about the book.

@kentuckygirl: sorry I missed you. Maybe we should post on each other's walls instead of the thread.

@kentuckygirl: How big we're your follicles this time and how many? Sorry if you already wrote that, I'm on my phone.
pear / 1786 posts
@marionberry: I am awful at remembering numbers and am kicking myself because I don't remember. I am laying there and I always have to ask them how big, they don't just volunteer the info. Then I get up and we discuss scheduling the IUI and by the time I leave the office, I can't remember the size. I know I had one bigger one on each side, I think they were 17-19 mm and then on the left there was a second smaller one, that she thought would mature by today. That was on Tuesday. I gave myself 3 more Menopur vials on Tuesday night and then she had me do the last 2 vials on Wednesday morning, so they should be larger follicles by today. I hope they do an ultrasound before the IUI so I know what I ended up with. I also want to see if I already released any of the eggs since I got a positive OPK on Tuesday night.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@kentuckygirl: I wished our RE had done an ultrasound the day of our iui to check if any of the eggs had already been released but it sounds like they often don't. At least you bd'd so you're safe regardless. My biggest was 19 when I triggered so that's great size. Good luck on your IUI! Really hoping good news for you your second time around.

I was wondering what you all might do in my shoes...I responded well to the 50mg of Clomid, with two follicles at the time of my IUI measuring at 20 and 27. As you know, the IUI was unsuccessful, but I believe it may have been due to an earlier than expected ovulation.
This time around the plan is 50mg Clomid, earlier monitoring, potential Bravelle injection based on early monitoring, Ovidrel and then the IUI. The thought of two injections already makes me jittery. It's my least favorite part.
I'm trying to figure out, before AF shows up, do I want to go ahead and increase to 100mg? Is that a more aggressive approach and I just need to go for it? I guess I just don't want to get to the end of IUI #2 and wish I had done it. I hate all of these decisions.
What would you all do? If you increased dosages, were you glad you did?
pomelo / 5041 posts
@sweetooth: I was successful at 50mg but I never had follicles that even reached the size of yours. My biggest was 19. I'd do what your doctor recommends, but it doesn't sound like you really need the higher dose of clomid. I think you're right, in that earlier monitoring is probably going to seal the deal.

So I'm still waiting for AF, I thought it would have come by now. I did POAS two days ago, so it's negative. Maybe all the stress with being infertile pushed my cycle back. Ugh, I want AF to come to I can get started on my next IUI.

@sweetooth: I would do what your doctor recommends. I figure that the doctor knows more thatn I do and is the expert at this. Every doctor does different things and every patient is different.
AFM: I finally had a good doctors appointment yesterday!!! My cyst is gone and we can actually go through with an injectible cycle! After 2 canceled cycles due to this cyst, I am so glad it is gone! I started femara yesterday and start the menopur injections on Saturday. It's the first time I have been hopeful in a while.

@marionberry: Thanks for your opinion. I do think with the earlier monitoring, and the additional FSH injection, I could still be successful without changing it to 100mg. My doctor didn't push back when I questioned the increase to 100. So I think I'll trust my gut on this one. And let the early monitoring and new injection be the new variables, not more Clomid.

@bluestriped bee: I'm waiting with you! I wish AF would show up already so we can get this show on the road!

@justdarling: I agree with you. I do trust my doctor, but I also know my body. And I think for now the only changes to my protocol need to be early monitoring and the new injection. I'm going to stick with 50mg of Clomid. I think I would feel differently if I hadn't responded to it.
Glad to hear you had a great appointment and you're moving forward with your injectible cycle! Best of luck to you and ride the high of new hope!

@justdarling: I'm glad it's gone, too. It's great news that you can start your injection cycle!
@sweetooth: Thanks for waiting with me!

@sweetooth: I'm glad you went with your gut! I really hope it all works out for you this time!
@justdarling: That's so awesome! I'm excited that you're finally hopeful again. Are you excited for getting to try again?

@justdarling: yay for a good appt., no cyst, & moving forward!!!! Best wishes on your first injectable cycle!
@bluestriped bee: so sorry you are still waiting to move on, hugs!
@sweetooth: I think you have to follow your instincts & if you had good follies on 50 mg, why switch! FWIW, my symptoms on Clomid did not get any worse with a higher dose.

AFM, my IUI went well today. They did not do an ultrasound today so I don't know about my follies. Now I wait ...

@kentuckygirl: It would be nice if there was an ultrasound right before the IUI. Just to be sure, you know? But maybe that disrupts things? (I'm just thinking out loud...
Glad to hear your IUI went well. Hope the TWW is peaceful and speedy!

@alie: Thanks!!!
@sweetooth: Thanks!!! That thought crossed my mind too!

@kentuckygirl: So glad your iui went well. Now just two painfully slow weeks to go. You just poas right, not come in?

@kentuckygirl: So glad to hear the IUI went well! Guess now it's time to just keep yourself really busy! I've also wished they would do an u/s on the day of...but figured maybe they don't do it because what they see might not change whether they do the IUI but it could cause unneeded worry. Hope these next two weeks go by quickly for you!
pear / 1786 posts
@marionberry: thank you! Yes, I only POAS, no scheduled blood test.
@spaniellove: thanks for the good wishes. Great point about unnecessary worry, I would definitely do that!

It's all one big rollercoaster ride, isn't it? The week began with my negative news, and it ends with AF and my scheduled day 3 workup for this Sunday. Hopefully everything still looks good and I will be starting Clomid again on Sunday with early monitoring next weekend. YAY for a cycle that has appointments falling on weekends!

@sweetooth: Thanks for your wall message. Still waiting on AF. I'm kinda confused. My luteal phase has been pretty consistent with it being 14 days. So I should have gotten AF by now. I looked up to see if stress can affect luteal phase... turns out it does not. Stress can affect ovulation which in turn delays everything including luteal phase. I think I'm on 15DPO. Hmmm, AF needs to show up!
nectarine / 2705 posts
@bluestriped bee: My luteal phase was pretty consistent too, before Clomid. Are you on Femara? Maybe that can affect the luteal phase? Hope AF shows up soon for you, and then I hope it stays away for 9 months
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@sweetooth: Yeah, I'm on femera. Last month (the first month of taking femera), AF showed up 14 days after I O'd.
Maybe it is the femera, now that I have been on it for two month. I hope it comes, too.
BTW, good luck on Sunday!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
AF still a no show. I did have some cramping for about 30 sec this morning. I did do a google search and there are instances of Femera delaying AF. Ugh!

@bluestriped bee: Boo! Sounds very frustrating. Did you ever get into see the acupuncturist? Its something that they would be able to help speed along too.
honeydew / 7916 posts
@bluestriped bee: Have you considered calling your dr and asking for bloodwork and/or for Provera to make your period start if this goes on? I imagine you'd be eager to get on with your next treatment cycle if you're not pregnant.

Hi all! I'm joining this thread because I have had some fertility issues in the past (four miscarriages) and while we are starting to TTC naturally again, our road may take us down other paths if we start to struggle to even conceive, especially now that my cycles are getting more and more wonky! Lots of hugs and good thoughts to you ladies, this road is definitely not an easy one and I admire all of you and your strength!
