@Mrs.VW: If it gives you any hope ladybee thought the same thing when she had pcos and was only on Femara and doing timed intercourse, in fact it was her third month of doing it and she kept wishing for her iui injectable cycle to come sooner but she got pregnant. So every month is a possibility for bfp!

@Mrs.VW: I feel like that a lot. I agree with @sweettooth that it just gets worse. I was really hopefully for my last cycle (IUI#3) and then I saw DH's SA and thought that the cycle was just a waste. My doctors tries to remind me that you do have to stay hopeful. She calls it having "pregnancy thoughts". It's a mind over matter philosophy. I know how hard this is. Hopefully either this cycle surprises you and works or that next cycle works for you.

So nuts...I normally hear from my doctor pretty soon when the cycle doesn't work. But I didn't hear anything for 2 days, so I was emailing and calling my nurse. I didn't get a response from her either, and finally found out that my doctor is out this week. It's looking like CD1 will be tomorrow for me and so CD3 falls on Sunday. It always makes it tricky when the weekend is involved with the start of a new cycle and getting meds. I was getting so annoyed that I didn't hear from anyone that I thought I'd just be giving up this cycle.

Finally a doctor that is covering for mine gave me a phone call and answered all of my questions. I feel a little better, but also a little nervous because it looks like I'm moving on to injectibles only and no more Clomid. Looks like I need to study up and put my brave face on.

@justdarling: I guess I need to keep having "pregnancy thoughts" instead of "maybe just the two of us is okay" thoughts if I want this to work I'm trying to keep up with my Circle + Bloom meditations to get my head in the right space. Hope you're finding ways to keep those good thoughts in your head too.

@tequiero21: Yeah, it sucks to have to start the wait again as soon as I got the news! My clinic prefers 5 day transfer but it is good to hear that 3 day can be so successful too!

@sweetooth: Honestly, right now my thoughts are more like, "which bottle of wine should I open tonight?" My course of action for baby making this month is, let's have fun, not think about it, drink lots of wine and have unprotected sex. Maybe that will work! I sound like I drink a lot, but after months of not drinking because I might be pregnant, I feel like I deserve a month where I can be a lush!

  7. justdarling

@sweetooth: Seriously, I truly believe that all of us will be mothers some day. The journey to get there is only part of our story and we will be even better mothers because of it. It may be hard sometimes, and at times we may not believe that it will happen, but it will.

  8. sweetooth

    nectarine / 2705 posts

@justdarling: You don't sounds like a lush at all. I have indulged in more wine over the past several days than I have in months. And you totally deserve whatever you want right now Totally.

This journey is hard. I hope you have tons of fun during your break from it all

  9. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@justdarling: Seriously, why not? It's awful feeling like you've lost touch with yourself so a month of wine and fun unprotected sex sounds like a great way to feel like an actual person again!

Wow, I've been MIA the past few days trying to sort out all of this gluten free stuff and lots has happened!

@justdarling: We've all been there Enjoy your break!

@sweetooth: I hate when life throws a wrench into your plans when so much of fertility is already so unknown! Good luck with the injectables - thinking positive thoughts for you!

@spaniellove: yay! So excited for you!

@leialou: Wow, what a lot to think about. Glad you got some questions answered and you know how to move forward from here. Good luck, keep us posted

Now, an update from me and a question for all of you. It's been really rough with the gluten-free diet since I've already been having problems keeping my weight up. I keep wondering if this is my "quick fix" - and maybe being gluten intolerant and Vit. D deficient is what has been keeping us from our bfp. Any thoughts on that? Have you or anyone you know had success ttc after going off gluten or am I just kidding myself?

    pomelo / 5228 posts

@mrs.halfsie: My naturopath mentioned that it was the one thing that finally worked for one of her patients, though I think its somewhat rare. Worth a try though, especially if you're known to be sensitive to it. No idea how to keep weight up though, I try to do the opposite!

  13. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@mrs.halfsie: Going gluten free often causes weight gain in people with celiac because they've been malnourished for a long time and suddenly they're getting nutrients + GF food can have a lot of sugar. I don't know anything about increased success though!

The embryologist called just now - all four of the embryos divided!!! So no 3-day transfer; they'll call tomorrow to tell me if it's a 4-day (Sunday) or 5-day (Monday)

I'm so mad at myself for not insisting on a copy of my CD 3 blood work back when I first had it done. I had to get it now for my upcoming RE appointment, and I feel like there's more information there than they told me about. Here are the results, in case anyone wants to weigh in:

    FSH: 5.5
    LH: 2.2
    Estradiol: 28
    Testosterone (free): 1.1
    Testosterone (total): 28
    Prolactin: 27.4
TSH: 3.79 (which I already knew about, and it got my put on thyroid meds)
7DPO Progesterone: 3.1 (which led her to say I didn't ovulate)

I know that an LH:FSH ratio of 2:1 or more usually means PCOS, but what about the other way around? I always though LH and FSH were supposed to be about the same. My prolactin is high (top end of the range is 29.2) but I think that's tied in to my thyroid.

@spaniellove: What fabulous news! I told you it would all work out. I can't wait for your transfer!

@shutterbug: They only told me numbers over the phone so I have no idea what mine were. Your thyroid numbers are getting better though. Yay!

@marionberry: Every day I have to start over with the agonizing wait, and I have mental numbers. Like, if it's X number I'd be *so excited*. If it's X, we'd still have hope. If it's X, it's probably over.

  21. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@mrs.halfsie: Sorry, I needed to continue the thought I had! Since you're having trouble keeping your weight up, it might be possible that either you were malnourished from the gluten sensitivity, or now that you're GF you need to make an extra effort to get more calories (tough, I know).

    @leialou: Thank you!!

    @spaniellove: That's fantastic!

@Shutterbug: PCOS is indicated when LH is elevated. But a normal LH level is <7. And FSH <6 is considered excellent. So I don't think that the ratio you have is anything to be worried about.

AFM, I'm on 7.5mg of Femara now, and will do 75iu injections of Gonal-F on Sunday and Monday, and then BW/Ultrasound on Tuesday. I'm really hoping that with the addition of the injectables, for once it won't take an entire month just to get one good follicle. And I'd be ecstatic if we had multiple eggs. We know it would be more work in the beginning, but we'd love to have twins.

  23. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@spaniellove: If all four are ready for a transfer, will you freeze two and use two?

@mrscb: I really hope the injectables will help you out this cycle and give you multiple eggs. It would certainly help your chances I'd think.

16DPO and I caved a took a digital test. It was expiring soon and I was beginning to think the wondfro strips weren't working. Not Pregnant. Much more blunt when you see those words.

I was a little moody last night so maybe it's my usual PMS sign.

I hope AF just gets here.

  25. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@marionberry: I would, but the chances of that happening are pretty slim because 1) they only freeze in multiples of two, so for two to transfer and two to freeze I'd need all four and 2) they only freeze a perfect 5-day blast, so basically all four would have to be perfect since they'd of course transfer the best ones.

@mrs.halfsie: Thank you! I have heard of people who go gluten free and get pregnant. So it could be your "quick fix". But I've have moments like that on my journey, and I've learned there are no quick fixes. You just have to keep trying and find what works for you.

@spaniellove: Usually it's a monthly rollercoaster, but it sounds like you're on a daily rollercoaster! I'm glad that things continue to go well

@Shutterbug: I feel like all of those numbers have always just been rattled off to me. It's nice that you have them written out. Don't research Dr. Google too much. I'm sure your RE will be able to give you the information you need. Good luck at your appointment!

@MrsCB: What cycle is this for you? Will it be your 3rd IUI? Today is CD1 for me, and I'll be doing injectibles only this cycle. My first time, so I'm a little nervous about it. But hopeful too. Here's to a successful cycle! And lots of mature eggs!

@bluestriped bee: Sorry that you had to see that stupid statement on your pee stick. For what it's worth, my period didn't start until 18 dpo. And it arrived with a vengeance. I'll gladly be cycle 3 buddies with you And maybe the 3rd time will be magic for us both

@spaniellove: I'm crossing my fingers that all four turn out perfectly for you!

@bluestripedbee: I'm sorry about the clear message. I hated reading those. At least when AF comes it means you get to start another cycle, and another month of possibility.

@sweettooth: @bluestripedbee: @mrscb: I really hope these IUI cycles are the ones that work for you!

@sweetooth: This is my 4th medicated cycle, (IDK how many overall, I don't ovulate on my own, but off BC since last May) but we're actually doing timed intercourse for now. We got PG with a CP our first medicated cycle, so for now the doctor doesn't think we need IUI. But DH just had another SA done this week, so maybe we'll end up going that route after all.

I'm a little nervous about doing the injectables too. I've done the Ovidrel trigger which isn't too bad, I hope the Gonal-F is as easy. Which meds will you be taking?

  32. sweetooth

    nectarine / 2705 posts

    @marionberry: thank you

@MrsCB: If all goes well at my CD3 appointment on Sunday, then I will start with low doses of Bravelle and go in for monitoring even earlier than I did last time. I reacted well to Clomid, but I think with the injectibles we'll be able to control the timing/follicle growth better. At least that's my hope.

This is my 3rd medicated cycle. I'm thinking I would do up to 4 because now I'm introducing injectibles into the equation. How many do you think you'll do?

I hope the injections are similar to the Ovidrel, I don't even feel that one. Good luck to you

BAH! I feel like so much is happening right now

@spaniellove: Such exciting news! I bet you are on cloud nine - I have a good feeling about this cycle for you!! And thanks for that numbers link - I'll know I'll be referencing that this weekend!

@bluestriped bee: UGH. I'm so sorry. THIS is what keeps me from testing. The difinitive, 'not pregnant' or stark white area. Hang in there and treat yourself this weekend!

@justdarling: I love your upbeat perspective - I'm going to try to be more like you And no judgement here on the wine! I think after my CD 3 BW tomorrow I'm going to treat myself to a couple glasses

@Shutterbug: Thanks for sharing your numbers! I'm getting my first ever CD 3 BW done tomorrow and it helps to see where someone else is at. I wish I had more insight to help you with on your numbers!

AFM, I'm excited but nervous about my CD 3 BW tomorrow. I'm just praying that the news isn't too bad. I know I"ll be coming to you girls looking for feedback! I can't believe 22 cycles in to this journey and I'm just now getting these results. Oh well. Better late than never right Send me your positive thoughts tomorrow - I'd appreciate them!

@spaniellove: thank you! bookmarking that link

@MrsCB: well gee, it's nice to know at least one of my numbers is "excellent", haha! I agree with you about twins - I hope you get yours!

@bluestriped bee: honestly digital tests should come with a coupon for wine if you get a BFN. Might soften the blow a little

@sweetooth: I'm trying my best to stay away from Dr. Google, but it's haaard! Good luck with the injectibles! I hope that's the nudge your body needs to get you KU

@Mrs.VW: Yay you get to go in tomorrow for your CD 3 BW!! I *think* my numbers say that I have a progesterone deficiency and hypothyroid, but that link spaniellove posted is super helpful! Can't wait to hear your results!

@Shutterbug: Ha! YES! I totally agree about the wine coupon. It really only seems fair Thanks - I hope they come back good. I'm hoping I get them tomorrow and don't have to wait til Sunday or Monday!

@sweetooth: I did injectibles last cycle and was totally nervous about it. I hate needles and really had a hard time thinking about giving myself shots (or having DH give them to me). It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Hopefully 3rd time is a charm for you!

@Mrs.VW: Thanks! I try to stay positive. Sometimes it is hard and I do have some down times, but I really try to stay positive. Good luck on the CD3 BW. It's great to see the results and hopefully get some answers. You deserve a glass of wine afterwards! I didn't realize that you had been through 22 cycles so far. It is about time you got that blood work done! I am thinking positive thoughts for you tomorrow.

@Shutterbug: I totally agree with the wine coupon idea!!!! I would have needed a coupon for a case of wine after this last cycle!

@spaniellove: thanks for the update. I am doing acupuncture as well.

@sweetooth: Your post made me look back at when I got AF last month. AF was running late last month. So last month, I got AF on 17DPO. Today is 17DPO and I am feeling a little crampy today.

@marionberry: I know. I've been using those wondfro strips for so long and saving the more expensive tests for when I get a positive in the strips. I now realize I really do need to use those tests only when I'm positive I'm pregnant.
