I'm almost 38 weeks pregnant and really sick. The sickness is moving into my chest and flaring up my asthma. My midwife wants me using my inhaler (albuterol) as she says oxygen isn't optional in pregnancy! I totally understand that and the inhaler does really help but I can't help but worry about the side effects. Did anyone else use an inhaler while pregnant?

I did. I got bronchitis in my second trimester and had to use albuterol regularly for a few weeks. My OB and doctor had the same opinion as your midwife - oxygen is necessary during pregnancy! LO is perfectly fine.

I have mild asthma but didn't have any flair ups during pregnancy. But my OB told me multiple times to use my inhaler if I needed it. Oxygen is important!

Yep, I used it. And FWIW I now give the same drug to my 8.5 month old several times a day, as prescribed for her. Im completely sure its fine.

Yup I used mine. I have Mild asthma and needed it as my diaphram was compressed...

I did. I have severe asthma and mine flared up badly during my first pregnancy. I was scared to use my inhaler (class C) and my ob sternly told me that she would y hesitate to hospitalize me until my asthma was well controlled. So, inhaler it was.
After delivery, I started on Advair which REALLY helps. I'm 18w with my second and haven't had an asthma attack yet.

I believe I did and it was totally fine. I was on pulmicort during pregnancy, and I was worried about having a flare up during labor, but I didn't.

Yes. With last pregnancy I started off with pulmicort and then moved on to something stronger (symbicort I think). Controlling your asthma is very important! Both my OB and allergist said it has to be under control and were pretty serious about it. This pregnancy it's actually gotten better and I haven't taken anything in a while.

Yep. I'm a lifelong asthmatic. I was told that the inhaler only gets to your lungs, no further in the bloodstream, etc. I used it when I had breathing issues.

DH is a lifelong severe asthmatic so I did TTC research on all of this drugs and albuterol (inhaler) was probably one of the safer drugs that the DH takes. Plus, I am exposes to his inhaler secondhand. He take steroids (prednisone) when his asthma gets bad. Dr said it shouldn't affect us since its such an old drug, but I still have my doubts. Though, I learning that I have female infertility, too. So it's not all DHs fault that we haven't conceived yet.
