I got my MIL a Coach purse ($200 on sale for $50!) and I got my mom a personalized heating pad and a gift card to her favorite car wash place (trust me, these are things she actually wants). I also made handprint ornaments for both parents.

@mrsjazz: I think this what we're going to do for the next 20 years or so! Instant grandparent gift!
My MIL started getting new dishes a couple years ago, so we got her a Fiestaware pitcher and casserole dish to match. We also get her stocking stuffers, but just little things.
We got my mom a rice cooker (she had never heard of it before coming to our house??). Both moms are getting picture frames with an ultrasound pic in it too.

i made a calendar of LO for MIL and FIL.
DH and I also chipped in for some broadway tickets and dinner for them

I painted a plate at Color Me Mine with LO's footprints on them. I'm also getting her a framed family photo (she asked for that) and a small photo album with pics of DS.
I made two of the plates, so my mom is getting the other one and she bought a kitchen aid mixer recently so I got her a mixer cookbook, holiday spatula and holiday measuring cups.

We have also gotten her and FIL a gift card to a nice brunch place.

i got my mom something from a local potter she likes. my MIL is getting silence- no contact order covered her birthday, thanksgiving, christmas, and new year's, you can call me ebenezer scrooge
ideas: anything with a picture of that gorgeous baby of yours! or a spa certificate, a kindle, B&B weekend, a handbag or wallet, certificate for a family portrait with them & your family, fancy scarf & glove set, perfume she wears, membership to an art museum where she lives, tickets to a show

We got FIL and MIL and new BBQ.
My mom we bought her a birdfeeder.

We're not very exciting. Hummingbird feeder and a head lamp thing for my mom, and paid for part of having MIL's kitchen floor redone.

I got her a new kettle, two scarves, a scarf holder thing and a bracelet.
My mom got a necklace, sweater, throw blanket and a new fish, lol!

I got my mom a kitchen composter pail. MIL/FIL are getting their croissants from us, plus a picture of LO!

My MIL is really into knitting so I got her a yarn swift.
I got my mom one of those printed coat of arms posters (she's always wanted one of her maiden name).

My mom: GC for a massage at her favorite spa, umbrella that she wanted, Shu Emura eyelash curler (she is going to be so excited that I found them online!), calendar with pictures of DD, coffee mug with pictures of DD
My MIL: good chef's knife, GC to Sur la Table for cooking/knife skills class, pearl necklace from J. Crew, scarf from J. Crew, same calendar and coffee mug my mom got, plus stocking stuffers
And, yes, we tend to go kind of big for Christmas. It hate it. Not the expense, just the focus on presents.

@plantains: If you order a calendar now you can get it right after xmas. I ordered from shutterfly and got my calendar in like 3 days and I didn't have to pay extra

Shutterfly frame/plaque with pics of her and LO from our last trip there. FIL and great-grandma are getting the same thing with different pictures.

I made Shutterfly Calendars for both sets of parents. Then for my mom I got her a pair of sneakers she wanted and a cashmere sweater. I have no idea what my husband is getting his parents from us. I remind him repeatedly that Christmas is a week away.
