I got an email from my insurance carrier that they were processing my claim. I contacted them to see what the deal was since I hadn't file a claim and hadn't had any accidents or anything.

Apparently somebody filed a claim using my liscense plate number. They said that they were driving down the street and I backed out of a drive way and hit them.

They reported that it was a different vehicle than what I owned and it was in a different city than where I live (about 50 miles away) Plus I was still in the hospital after having my LO when the accident supossidly took place.

So it is either an innocent mistake that they got the plate wrong/insurance company entered it wrong. Or this person is trying to scam my insurance.

I have a call to the agent dealing with the guy filing the claim. This is just ridiculous.
