We were at the pediatrician's office earlier this week and he informed me that there is a new meningitis B vaccine that has just become available and he recommends getting it. He said up to 20% of children here contract meningitis B. It seems to be currently approved in the EU, Canada and Australia. Has anyone else's ped talked about this? Our doctor gave me an info sheet in German, but the CDC has a good information page about it and it has been used in two outbreaks in the US in the last 6 months.

I'm still reading up on it. Has your LO had the vaccine? Any thoughts?
Ps. I'm not really interested in this turning into a pro/anti vax debate thankyouverymuch!
this is the part of the info sheet that mentions 20%. Google translate gives me something super funky, so I'm not totally sure my ped meant that 20% get it. I'm thinking he means 20% suffer from severe side effects? This confusion is why I'm putting it out there!
