I can't remember any of my fears from the newborn time (I think the hormones blocked them out!) but now that she is cutting teeth, I worry that they will be crowded, or spaced too far apart and stuff like that. She's getting a top tooth and I keep thinking "What if she has a gap and will need braces when she gets her big girl teeth?" Ridiculous.

@PrincessBaby: I have that fear too! I keep thinking I'll come home one day to find that the nanny took off with my baby.

@hilsy85: Oh gosh I worry about that too. Ever since my DH read me this story on reddit about a babysitter who dropped the baby on the tile and the baby died, I have this irrational fear it's going to happen. And we have a house full of tile! Why did he have to tell me that story!

I worry a lot. It's like I can envision all the ways he can get hurt and die and it scares me.

@Bao: This is my fear too. It's okay when he's sleeping with us but when he's in the PnP I constantly check to make sure he's still breathing. I've gotten out of the bath to check, and then gotten back in, lol.

Not to add to your fear buuuut, my sister's MIL confessed to once letting her grandson suck on her boob since nothing else would comfort him! Now my sister is horrified that she might do it with her daughter! (:

I was irrationally afraid that she was just going to stop breathing.

@PrincessBaby: @mrskc: Hahaha, as someone who was a nanny, I can tell you.... one of the joys of the job is that you get to give the kids back at the end of the day. lol

Why did I open this? Now I have more irrational fears to add to the list

We had a good friend whose 3 month old passed away from SIDS while I was pregnant so I have never slept well at night, and I check on my now 9 month old son constantly. I barely slept the first 6 months. It was awful. I constantly thought about it and was so sure he was going to die. Its finally starting to let up some, but my new fear is falling furniture and someone dropping him. And someone giving him peanuts and him having a peanut allergy. He likely doesn't have one, but man, I am paranoid.

SIDS, I had a coworker lose her 3 month old (while he was napping at daycare) to SIDS when I was 9 months pregnant, I check on her at least 3 times a night.

And this one is hard to admit: I also have a strange fear that my daycare provider is going to think we neglect or abuse our daughter (even though these things are not even close to being true) and she's the nicest lady. I feel like I over justify every decision I make. A lot of this is due to her acid reflex and the fact that she's a crabby baby sometimes and spits up all the time. I didn't take the daycare lady's advice on formula and took our doctor's instead, and now I think she will judge me! haha ugh why did I admit this

@hellocupcake: WTFFFFFF. No. Just... no.

He's not even here yet and I have all sorts of irrational fears! Placental abruption, cord prolapse, suddenly for no reason us going to a weekly appointment and there being no heartbeat. I knew a couple this happened to at 39 weeks so I'm petrified. To the point where... all pregnancy I've been adamant I don't want an induction, but part of me is hoping that for some reason my doctors will tell me today (at my 37 week appointment) that they want to induce me soon. Just so I can get him out and here...

Wherrrrrre I can indulge more irrational fears. SIDS and dropping him are high on my list, as is childhood cancer and any host of random and rare diseases.

@jessiejo17: I have that fear, too!! For no reason, obviously, since he's not here yet... But I'm so worried that they'll think we're doing something wrong!
