I've gotten really into this British period drama. The characters are great and the plot line moves along at a good pace. I think it just won some Golden Globes. Anybody watching?

I am! I watched the first season via Netflix in one night. I suppose it helped that I was in the first trimester and really, really did not feel like leaving the apartment on a Saturday night. Now my DVR is set for season 2.
I love how it's a good mix of high and low-brow. Like, the historical aspects are fascinating, but the relationship stuff is pure soap opera.

Yes, it's fabulous! I spent several years of my childhood in Yorkshire, and I've always loved historical fiction, so it's right up my alley. It's a nice change from all of the reality programming on these days too.

Just wanted to join in on this post! I recently just watched all of season 1 on Netflix! That show is AWESME! Too bad season 2 has already started airing, so now I can't watch it until it either reruns on PBS or is available on Netflix. Anyone know how long it took season 1 to be on Netflix after it aired?
Love this show!

Yes! I watched Season 1 on Amazon Prime, and now I'm going to start watching Season 2 on pbs.org... so wrapped up in this show!!
ETA: All of the current season episodes are available for free to watch on PBS' website, and they even have an app for iPhones/iPads

Okay. Just watched first two episodes with DH last night (on our new Black Friday TV purchase!) and I cried so hard in the first episode because everyone was so mean to Bates! It almost made me not want to watch more because I thought they'd keep it up. Glad that changed!
