I knew it was going to be hard, but I didn't really realize how hard until I had kids. I didn't know that baby sleep was so complicated! But... it's also much more rewarding than I expected. I never get sick of talking about Charlie and Olive or looking at their pictures and videos!

I think the newborn stage was harder than I expected. But once you figure out what you're doing and gain more experience, it is not so bad.

@Mrs. Bee: Yes, my LO is 21 months and she is so much fun! And once she gets harder again, I'll be much better equipped to deal with it. But of course, I only have one child at the moment, too!

@Andrea: i think it gets easier as they get older and more independent. that's probably why parents think they can do it again once their kids are 3 because it's been fun for awhile, and the newborn stage is far from their minds.
i think the transition from 2 to 1 naps was pretty rocky, but since then it's been so much fun.
i'm just not looking forward to dealing with sorting out olive's sleep... her naps are starting to get worse lately and i don't want to sleep train!

LO is just over a month and it's way harder than I expected.

@Mrs. Bee: definitely. i am just enjoying and focusing on my very fun daughter at the moment so i am in the camp of wait as long as possible to attempt #2. lol.

I agree with @Andrea. The newborn stage was much harder than I thought but the toddler stage is a joy!

Because I am so young people always said it would be too hard and I wouldn't be able to do it and for a while I believed it. But then it wasnt as hard as everyone said it would be.

I think it was easier in some ways that I thought would be harder, and more difficult in ways I didn't expect. Breastfeeding was easy going, and I didn't expect supply problems to hit in around 6-7 months, once we were already established, going well, and I seemed to have plenty of milk. I didn't think we'd have so many issues with eating solids and worrying about DS's poop. I thought sleeping and teething would be much more difficult, but so far it has been easier than I expected, though not always easy.
