I can't tell if it's witty or cliche to close out a post with a hashtag. #ivoteforcliche

Um, sad to say but I've been seeing it around but never understood what they meant nor did I bother to look it up (obviously I don't tweet). I do, however, see how it can be today's emoticon. Sounds like it can be witty if used correctly & sparingly but easily abused by the overzealous.

I don't check Twitter but a few times a year but I see them via Facebook. I think they are ok to get a glance of that person's emotional temperature as they are writing but really, I don't have that much brainpower leftover to make my own.

It really depends on the usage. Some people are making up hashtags for every single thing and using multiple hashtags per sentence and thats just too much for me

I don't use Twitter so I have no idea what a hashtag is...So I don't know if it's witty or cliche...

I seldomly use it. Although,I did for a tweet this morning. 
Most times, I rarely see #.

Hash tags were originally meant for filtering on topical tweets so I don't use them very often. People can get pretty lame and obnoxious with their hashes though.

It depends... I hate it when someone tweets a very short message, but then has three or four hashtags... "I'm eating dinner #beefitswhatsfordinner #angus #delicious #yum".... I always want to reply #annoying.
But used correctly and for topics or when they're truly funny, I like them.
