I typically wear champion for Target running tights. But, my trusted pair just got a hole and I'm wondering if LLL is worth it? I'm on a workout kick now

Meh. I would rather wear UnderArmor.
ETA: UA for running. I do like Mika Yoga Wear, too.

I have a few pieces from there that have lasted well over five years...great condition... a pullover throw jacket, puffy wind pants, and leggings.
I think it's worth it!

My friend LOVES it. I think the price is pretty crazy though. I usually shop the gap brand when they have sales.

I haven't bought any even though I have been tempted... I wear Zella (Nordstrom brand) and Nike.

@winniebee: I love my LL stuff. It's the official outfitter for this SAHM:). It's very flattering, super comfy, and lasts forever (doesn't fade/peel/etc)....I like them so much more than like the Nike run pants and stuff I have. Plus it makes me feel less bummy when I wear it out in public bc it looks neater, I guess?
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
They've been in the news lately for the see through pants and how the quality has declined, so I'd think I'd skip.
eta: Check out the stuff on Athleta (in the Gap family). They have great stuff. I've bought a ton from there and I have loved everything.
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
@looch: I think that was just pants that were made in a certain time frame/batch, and they recalled them and immediately refunded and replaced them for anyone who had a pair manufactured in that time frame (it was like a 2 week period). I have bought pants right before then and one pair in the last month and they are the same good ol' LL quality that I know and love.
@winniebee: They make everybody's butt look good. They're just cut better than the average yoga point. TBH, they make me feel hot and cute whereas other yoga pants I've had made me feel dumpy, lol. A dumpy butt, haha

I used to love it...but have been sorely disappointed with everything I've tried to purchase from there over the past year. Stitching falling apart, sheer fabric (much more extensive than they claim). If you're considering it I'd recommend definitely trying it on in person, testing out the sheerness, checking all of the stitching, and not taking off the tags until you've tested it again in different lighting!

Ah yes the see through pants! I had gotten some maternity athleta and it was just ok, but maybe the normal sizing is better.
@PrincessBaby: I want a good looking yoga pant butt!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@PrincessBaby: I bought one thing from LLL and the quality seems good, I just think it's on the pricey side and it didn't seem like they had a lot of petite or short sizes. I'm 5 feet tall and there didn't seem to be a huge selection for shorties like me. But my friend teaches aerobics and swears by the stuff.

I love them. I have 4 pairs of pants and a few tops and some other accessories.
One of my pairs of pants I've had for 8 years and they still look as new as the day I bought them.
I have never had a bad experience with any of their products or services and I will continue to buy from them forever and ever and ever.
@littlek: I'm 5 feet as well, they have free hemming in their stores. I also find them to be pricey, but honestly I've NEVER had another pair of pants last me 8 years and still look brand new and fit just as well as they did the first time I put them on. I think that says enough about the quality.

I love it. I purchased lots of lululemon stuff back when I actually bought myself stuff and not LO (lol) and it is like brand new still. And its what I wear to work all the time.
coconut / 8498 posts
I can't justify paying that much for workout gear when I'm not really into working out.
persimmon / 1286 posts
Great quality and it's very flattering. But I do not like how delicate you need to be with washing them/not drying them on hot because they might pill or get lint from other garments on them... they are workout clothes that are meant to get filthy! And the insane price of course.
pineapple / 12802 posts
@lioneyes: I have never ever been delicate while washing my stuff. They go right in with all the other regular loads and they're fine.
On my oldest pair of pants I've had minimal pilling, and when it has gotten pilling, I just use one of these:
persimmon / 1286 posts
@.twist. that's a good idea, i should get one with a bbb coupon! however doesn't fix the issue of them picking up crazy amounts of lint from our building's shared washer/dryer.
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
I looveee Lululemon. I like that I can wear a lot of the pieces out around town without it looking like gym wear. I find their older pieces are better quality than their newer, but that's just me.
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@.twist.: @lioneyes: Ditto - I never wash my lulu on delicate and even my 8 year old pieces are still holding up. They get thrown in with everything else and even the dryer. The only thing I don't wash them with are towels
nectarine / 2765 posts
I've personally never tried Lululemom...I am however a big Athleta fan mentioned by a couple above. I absolutely love their Chaturanga capri yoga pants & wear them all the time.
honeydew / 7444 posts
@looch: @PrincessBaby: The quality of their stuff has been declining. Back in the day, probably around early 2000s, i found the quality much better. Thicker material and longer lasting. Ever since they moved their production from Canada to China, things have changed., at least in my opinion.
@winniebee: I find their prices similar to what you pay for Nike stuff. I think if you're looking for very stylish yoga stuff, LL is a great place to go for a nice treat. Glad you're back on the workout track!!
cherry / 211 posts
@winniebee: Target has a Champion "premium" brand which is only a little more expensive than the regular and just as good if not better than Lulu. I also like GapFit workout clothes, which you can usually get on sale.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
I have a few items from there and they were always the ones i picked first when grabbing something for the gym. They really truly make your butt look so good. They are pricey and I had a hard time justifying it, since I hate working out, but I did find it motivating to at least look nicer while working out. I have a gift card that I'm saving until after I have the baby and get closer to my normal weight and I think I'll splurge on some new yoga pants-- not so much for exercising but for SAHMing.
I wore my two pairs of capri running pants a lot and never had a problem with pilling, but I always washed them on cold and never put them in the dryer. I never washed them with towels since I always separate those anyway. Dh knows I would kill him if he put them in the dryer.
ETA: That said, most of my workout gear is from Gap Fit and I like theirs almost as much. Still problem with quality and fit, my but just doesn't look quite as awesome in them. Meanwhile I haven't actually worked out in months and nothing fits this big belly right now

I've had one pair of LL pants for about five years now, and they're JUST getting to the point where they're looking a little ratty. But hey....five years is ages for a yoga pant! I love them, and really need to get a pair to wear postpartum - so flattering and comfy.
honeydew / 7916 posts
@.twist.: @lioneyes: The first pair of pants I got from LLL pilled badly b/c I put it in the dryer a few times. The next few I never put in the dryer and used a gentler spin cycle, which helped a lot! They don't take too long to dry on their own and they still look great.
pineapple / 12802 posts
@spaniellove: crazy! I've never had issues like that and I put all my lulu stuff in the dryer!?
honeydew / 7916 posts
@.twist.: Hmm, maybe it's because mine were purchased more recently? The newest pair is probably 2 years old?
pineapple / 12802 posts
@spaniellove: Hm. I dunno. I know I bought a pair of shorts and a hot yoga bra within the last 2 years and haven't had any issues with them either?
pineapple / 12053 posts
Love my LuLus. I always grab those when I go to work out, wear around the house, etc. it's a splurge but like PPs, my butt looks good in them and they motivate me when I feel good!
I don't have any tanks or bras from there, but they always look cute on other peeps. I just use champion sports bras from target and the random tees I have from college and some tanks I've picked up along the way. When those need to be retired (maybe they should be already considering I graduated 7 years ago!) I might grab a tank/bra combo or get something from Nordstrom rack!
nectarine / 2134 posts
I'm not sure about their quality issues recently, but I have several items (yoga pants, crops, tanks, jacket) and I love them!
I'd advise washing on cold and hanging/lying flat to dry (but I do that will all athletic clothes in general).
grapefruit / 4770 posts
It's the only thing I wear for working out, and I do a lot of yoga/running/barre/weight lifting. I say it's the only thing I wear because I still have my very first lululemon purchases from five years ago, and they look brand new! So, I keep adding to the collection, and never have to rotate items out! Love! Also, I have ONLY paid full price one time in the past 5 years. If I see something, it will more than likely go on sale. Also, their sales are awesome. Still pricey by some, but $20-$3 bucks off is a deal.

Body Language Sportswear >>>>> Lulus. They're a company based in LA and I am OBSESSED. They make your butt look SO good (the scrunchy capris) and NO muffin top. Lot of the celebs wear them around town...google it. Similar prices to Lulus, maybe a notch less? You can order online... They're def my holy grail / staple workout brand / capris / bottoms.
http://www.bodylanguagesportswear.com/. Shameless plug. And no, I don't work for them in any fashion, I'm just that obsessed!
Other close faves: NUX USA and MPG Clothing. Don't get me wrong, Lululemon is fantastic...I just think there are other brands that offer the same quality and style, if not more.
pomegranate / 3706 posts
Yes. 100% worth it. No other brand has lasted as long and still looked good, and also, their pants are actually long enough for me, which is rare.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
I love it. Love love love.
Also all their pants come in long lengths. Love love love.
pomelo / 5628 posts
I have a pair of super thick yoga pants from LLL...not sheer at all! I did try on many pairs to decide what fit best. I love LLL but can't justify the price very often. My Champion stuff from Taeget works just fine...although its really hard to find full-length fitted work-out pants.
pomegranate / 3895 posts
Absolutely. If you treat it well (cold water wash, hang to dry, don't wash with soft cottons like socks and towels which will cause pilling etc.) they will last forever. I worked there nine years ago and all the clothes I bought while I worked there (and that I've worn the hell out of) still look like new.
eggplant / 11287 posts
Their sweatshirts? Absolutely 100%. Best hoodies I have ever owned in my life. For the pants, I think they're exactly the same as the zella line at Nordstrom (a bit cheaper) or the yoga pants at Costco (even cheaper!).
