Trying it to make it to May without turning on the a/c, but it's been getting pretty warm! Our apartment runs pretty warm, especially since the radiator still turns on sometimes (?!).
Is the air conditioner on yet in your home?

Oh gosh no. We've still got the heat running. this week has been really cold, snow and all.
We usually put the AC on in July

Not even close. It's still pretty cold in Boston! (Maybe reaching 60 degrees at the very warmest this week, nights in the 30s)
pomelo / 5509 posts
Heck no. Temps haven't even gone above 70 outside yet. We don't turn the A/C on until it hits 85 and above, usually.
coconut / 8854 posts
No way! I won't touch mine until it hits 80 outside, I love the fresh air way too much!
pomegranate / 3595 posts
absolutely! But it was 88 here today and forecasts are in the 90s the rest of the week!
eggplant / 11716 posts
Not yet, but we have overhead fans, so that makes everything feel a bit more cool.
We did turn on the AC about a week ago though, because I was cooking and baking for a few hours right before LO went to bed and the house was 75, but my husband had put LO in footie pajamas and a sleep sack and she was already asleep...so I turned it on to cool the house back down to 69 or so.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
LOL I've been wanting to turn on the heat the last few days still! It's still in the low 40s over night and only high 50s in the day.

@mrbee: I am in same boat as you. Our building's heat is still on for some reason, and I am boiling. Unfortunately our window unit broke, and I don't want to buy another since we are moving in August. But I guess I'll have to suck it up.

@MrsYellowJacket: Houston here too...I think by the end of February I was turning it on at least a few times a week!
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
It's still pretty brisk up here in MA but our house gets so much light during the day and we just upgraded our insulation... so it's still 70 degrees in here! We'll need to install the window units soon.
pear / 1657 posts
Nope, it is still only in the mid 50s here. Our house has lots of big trees around it, so it stays pretty cool even in the summer.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
haha definitely not! I am covered in a blanket right now
I think it was about 60 today? So it's warming up - but only when the sun is out. Our apartment is pretty temperate. I can go days in the winter without turning on the heat and days in summer without the AC because the building stays a good temp in general.

Here in the PNW, it's very rare to have AC in your home. We turned our heat off a few days ago because it was 72 degrees in our house.
grapefruit / 4355 posts
Oh yes - has been for awhile! Atlanta is pretty nice by this time of year.

@bluestriped bee: I'm in the PNW too! We had a heat pump put in last year though, so we have ac. Bonus is that we are saving a lot on heating, so it makes up for the ac!
We had to change our thermostat so that ours didn't come on this past week when we hit 76. Our upstairs has an awful greenhouse effect and will basically be the outside high temp by the end of the day.
eggplant / 11287 posts
No way. We are also in PNW and no one has AC around here!
(But some summers I wish we had it. Last summer was a scorcher for our area and our house was in the upper 80s daily!)
grapefruit / 4028 posts
I don't think we've ever turned ours off! It's bright and sunny here!
grapefruit / 4819 posts
Considering we don't even have A/C, that would be a no
Living in England, we don't really have the need for it most of the year, and most certainly not this early in the season. Case in point, it is raining and 46 F outside right now, boo.
nectarine / 2086 posts
Nope! Love this time of year when we can just open the windows to cool off!
persimmon / 1050 posts
Yes, it has been for awhile. It's supposed to be 96 here on Friday!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
yeah. we've had some days above 80. If it gets above 75, i'm turning it on or i'm sweating and miserable
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
No, but we have tested it to make sure it will lat us anoher summer (Northeast, where the humidity is the issue, not so much the heat).
honeydew / 7235 posts
We are in New England - so, no!! Last summer didn't have AC go I until late July/August, but we are in the country, near the ocean, with lots of trees shading our house!
squash / 13208 posts
Nope - the heat has been coming on in the mornings still
The daytime highs have been upper 60's and low 70's so still cool
coconut / 8472 posts
We haven't used it yet, usually we don't need it until May. Right now is a great time of year to open up the windows and sliding doors if it gets warm or if we want fresh air. But once the pollen starts then I like to use the AC, otherwise I'll be miserable.
pear / 1770 posts
Not even... I'm still wearing a down coat and hat when I leave the house in the morning!
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
Yup, but the heat came back on yesterday since it was in the 50's. It was in the 90's over the weekend last week so a/c was a must!
nectarine / 2262 posts
South Florida, so it runs year round! It's extremely common for houses/buildings to not have heat at all, though. We have heat in our house but use it maybe 3 days a year. My work doesn't have heat.
pineapple / 12526 posts
Nope. We've just busted out a fan or two and opened a couple windows on the few days it's been warmer.
pomelo / 5791 posts
Absolutely. It's been on for weeks, even though it has yet to hit 75 here. Lol I blame the pregnancy hormones.
eggplant / 11824 posts
God no. The heat is still in heavy use!
We installed A/C last summer and will likely only use it come August for a couple of weeks.
