Okay, so I am just tearing my hair out right now wondering if I am pregnant or not. My husband and I got married October 26, and my period was the week before. This was the last period I had. Typically I am a couple days late, and the latest I've been is one week. I am now about two weeks late. I have never skipped a period once. Never. My husband and I used condoms and spermicide, and to my knowledge nothing broke or anything. However, I didn't take the time to inspect anything during or after. I am not on any form of birth control. I took some pregnancy tests last week, and they all read negative. But still, no period. I read on a forum that a lot of women don't even get positive results till they're several weeks pregnant and a few weeks late. Is there a good chance I could be pregnant even having used those forms of protection? I've been super irritable lately and bloated and have had some cramping but no period. My charting also shows I would have been ovulating during our honeymoon, which was when we had sex the most (2-3 times a day). I'm so lost and could use some answers. Thank you. PS- I wouldn't mind if I was pregnant, in fact, I'm kind of hoping I am.

I think there's a slight chance. Test again! I found out I was pregnant with my daughter when I was 4 weeks pregnant. I didn't have a period yet from the child I had just had before so they could tell looking at my HCG level numbers. It showed up on a HPT I took to confirm my craziness too hahah.

I would suggest that you possibly ovulated much later than normal, presumably as a result of everything happening in your life around the time you would have normally ovulated last cycle (weddings are notorious for causing a delay in ovulation due to the stress etc!). Given the protection you were using, I'd say it is unlikely you are pregnant, but I would keep testing every couple of days until you either get a positive or AF shows up.

Sounds very unlikely to me but not impossible I guess. I'd say the same as @Ree723: My cycle was screwy the month I got married too. Stress, travel, etc seemed to throw things off!

Test again recently. You could have had an anovulatory cycle, which would have thrown you off, or the stress of the wedding.

@mrsbird: I don't think it's a high chance, but always a chance. If you get another negative I would call doc for blood work to check your numbers. I had a friend who never got a positive on a test but the bloodwork doesn't lie.

Add me to the list of people who think you ovulated late (or not at all). It's very common and stress plays a huge factor in when/if you ovulate. Congrats on your marriage!

@mrsbird: I'd definitely think I was pregnant if I was 2 weeks late. Like you, I've never had that happen to me (except for when I was pregnant).

@mrsbird: I also think you probably ovulated late or didn't ovulate at all, due to the wedding/travelling. I would say it's unlikely you're pregnant, but if you don't get your period within the next week or so, maybe test again?

Haha my married name is Bird so I figured I'd choose mrsbird for my username. Thank you all for your answers. I'm going to test in a few days and if that comes up negative I'm going to make an appointment with my gyno. If anyone else has any stories they'd like to share that are similar to this go right ahead, I'd love to hear them.

You are most likely not pregnant. Being this late due to pregnancy but not having it show up on a test is very rare.
Did you travel for your honeymoon? Have you been sick recently? Changed your diet or exercise routine? Stressed? So many things can mess with your cycle. If you are concerned, see a doctor, but I would not worry. Everyone has a weird cycle every now and again.
I suggest testing once a week until AF shows up or you get a BFP. Keep us updated!

There is definitely a small chance you are pregnant...
BUT! There are a lot of things to delay your period... one big one is stress. Have you been stressed out recently?

This sounds super frustrating! Did you confirm ovulation? I was a week late once but that was after a chemical pregnancy (really early miscarriage. ) Have you tested again since last week?

I know when I ovulated, and I was less stressed out recently than I've been before and I've never missed a period or had it delayed like this due to stress.

If you're 14 days late and you tested last week, it may have been too early. Most tests don't show up as positive until 10-14 days past ovulation. So there's a small chance you're pregnant, but if you were using condoms plus spermicide it's pretty doubtful.

@mrsbird: How do you chart? It's possible your body geared up to O but didn't.

@mrsbird: how do you know you ovulated? Do you temp/chart? I would say if you're 14 days late and you used protection but the tests are all negative, I would doubt you are pregnant. Maybe a very slim chance but not likely.

I chart my basal temp and also get miserable cramping every time I ovulate. My doc said it's nothing bad but every time I ovulate it's a stabbing pain so it's pretty unmistakeable.

@mrsbird: Test again! You would certainly not be the first person to get pregnant while using protection, and it's possible that your first test was just too early. BUT try not to read into symptoms too much. Before I got my BFP, I thought I was pregnant every month while we were TTC because of symptoms that ended up being nothing. Realistically, I think it's not very common to have many symptoms before you'd get a positive test, since it's the pregnancy hormones that the tests detect that cause the symptoms.

UPDATE! I took three pregnancy tests today. They all were negative. However, that still doesn't take away from the fact my period is non-existent and if I don't have my period by Christmas, I'm making an appointment with a doctor. I'm automatically thinking the worst, that maybe I'm going through some kind of health problem that has caused this or I'm all out of eggs or something. :-o That would be my luck that I would have something happen where I couldn't have children, or some other serious health issue the month after I get married. Prayers and positive thoughts sent my way would be appreciated.

I highly doubt this is an indicator of any sort of serious health problem. I would just try not to stress and continue to test weekly until you either get a positive or your period arrives. I do agree that if it hasn't shown up by the end of the month you should get an appointment and try to figure out why though.

@mrsbird: Christmas seems like a long time to wait to find out if you're pregnant or not. Do you have an urgent care facility you can go to and get a blood test to confirm if you're pregnant?

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I am waiting till Christmas because if I skipped a period for some reason, then I should have my period by then. If not, then I skipped two months and I do have a reason to really worry then. Hopefully I get a positive soon, or my period comes. I do have an urgent care near me though. I'd rather see my gyno though.

My period came today so I am not pregnant. I am somewhat relieved, even though I was hoping I was pregnant. A baby coming just nine months after I get married wouldn't be that ideal, even though I want to get pregnant sometime in the next year. I think my husband and I will start TTC within a few months, but getting pregnant this early would probably have been a bit of a wrong time. I'm disappointed though still, but all I can say is thank you lovely gals for putting up with my ridiculous posts.
I'm not as dumb as I sounded, I was just overly hopeful and probably PMSing. 
I think I'll stick around on this site, since we will be TTC soonish anyway, and this seems like a really wonderful forum to hang around. -
