I am still new so don't really know anyone on here that I didn't know before joining HB, So I would like to know people better too

@Adira: I was going to say, you don't seem sarcastic at all... You seem super sweet, friendly, and bubbly!! Exactly how you described. :). I think I come off as more outgoing as I am in real life. I'm friendly, but I get nervous and it takes me awhile to open up to new people. I'm the one standing on the side racking my brain for what to say next.

@Mrs. High Heels: You and I would make perfect wall flowers together.

@Mrs. High Heels: I think my on-line persona is similar to the one I put forth at work (except with my coworkers I'm really close to). I just try to be really friendly and nice! But everyone that knows me really well knows I'm funny, sarcastic, and kind of bitchy.

I wish I knew more bees in real life. It would be neat to have mom friends who live close to me, share some of the same ideas I have, and generally are in the same stage of life that I am. In person, I'm pretty shy until I get to know you. I think that comes across in my online persona as well. I'm not a creeper. I'm just painfully shy and slightly awkward.

I'm a little late to this thread but it is amazing
I totally agree with a lot of what you all have said! On one hand I love that I can be honest here where TTC/beginning pregnancy can be so lonely Then again, I feel like I tried to put my personality in a couple posts and now have a complex that it totally came off wrong! Now, more than ever, I write and erase. Glad I"m not alone!

@Mrs. High Heels: I am way better "on paper". When my husband and I started dating it was long distance/through email. I always say he'd never have fallen in love with me if he got to know me in person I have such a fat mouth, I'm always sticking my foot in it when I talk to people in real life.
@Adira: I am very sarcastic & deadpan; people have a hard time telling when I'm joking. I need to create a friendly, bubbly, nice work persona!
@NaturallyCathy: we should set up a live chat thread for the 50th special!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@mewtill: I think my friendly work persona has backfired a little though! I'm an Engineer and apparently since I'm not arrogant like the boys, I come across as stupid! Until people have worked with me for a while, they assume I don't know as much as I do!!! But I feel like with women, there's such a fine line between confidence and bitchy, so it's hard!

@mewtill: Get your tissues ready. Got them? Good. Because here it is - I won't be able to watch the 50th Special live
nectarine / 2667 posts
@Adira: I hear you on the confidence vs bitchy. I teach and it's 98% women and I've had coworkers tell me they feel like I think I'm "better" than them - but really I'm just confident & don't ask for help very often I feel like I need to "play dumb" to get the cool boys to like me

@mewtill: @Adira: It's such a hard line to balance... You got that when you were confident, and I'm naturally a bit shy/quiet in person and I've been told that I came across as 'better than' because of it too Can't win!
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
@Adira: I feel the same way about being too friendly at work! And I'm also too accommodating, and when you're too accommodating you get additional work because you become the "go to" yes man!

@mewtill: Hopefully my mother will download it from iTunes the next day and I'll be able to watch it on her iPad. Eventually. Someday.
Funnily enough, we actually do have BBC America or would if DH would ever install the satelite. His grandparents pay for our DirectTv but DH hasn't taken down the satelite from the old house and moved it to the new house yet. It's been four months...

@NaturallyCathy: phew, I was about to break out a VCR and video tape it for you! Also, I think Mr & Mrs Bee should give a free Gold membership to whoever ends up killing this thread.
@TheSwissWifeStyle: have you seen this? http://meangirlsofpanem.tumblr.com/
ETA: you gotta go a few pages to get to the good stuff
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@mewtill: @lindseykaye: @Mrs. High Heels: Sigh. There's no winning for us, ladies.
@NaturallyCathy: You can come to my house to watch it!!! I live in New England - that's totally close, right??
GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts
@mewtill: If you did you would at least ensure I would see the special before the end of the year It's gonna suck because everyone else will be talking about it and I will have to sit in the corner with my fingers in my ears
@Adira: You're funny I wish.
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
@mewtill: @NaturallyCathy: I won't be able to watch it live either (no cable at all)! But I totally splurge and buy the episodes from Amazon and stream them through our PS3. I'll be able to (hopefully) watch it the next morning.

@NaturallyCathy: I will go to the thrift shop and get a vcr - I know we have blank tapes somewhere! I haven't taped anything in a decade. I hope the internet can provide me with a tutorial. At least you won't have to suffer the Worst Christmas Present Ever in the form of regeneration. Boooo Moffat.

@mewtill: Awww you don't have to do all that. I'll just try to stay off the internet until after I've seen the episode! (Ps I love Tennant more than Smith so I'm not all that sad)
@mrbee: Can Gold pile up? And how do we know we're about to run out?
@TheSwissWifeStyle: You guys kill me!
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@NaturallyCathy: click on your profile, and then click edit? It should tell you how much gold you have left!
GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts
@mrbee: It does - but will we get an email reminder warning us before our membership runs out? And how far in advance can we purchase more membership?
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@NaturallyCathy: you can add gold ahead of time... it just adds up, one year at a time!
Haven't programmed email reminders tor gold renewal yet... it hasn't been a year yet so still have some time!
