Just when I thought I was figuring this out 
I know A is only 8 days old so everything is normal, but he's been eating ALL day except maybe one two hour nap and a bunch of 30 minute or less naps. Everytime I think he is done he is rooting around 10 minutes later. Could this be a growth spurt?

I think E is in a persistent growth spurt! He roots like crazy. DH and I have taken to chanting, "Rooty! Rooty! Rooty!" a la

Could be. When my DS was that age I literally feel like I just nursed him 24/7!

Sounds like it - there is typically one somewhere around the 7-10 day mark. Don't worry, they don't last long..even though they feel like they're lasting forever when you're in the middle of one

LO did the same thing at 7-9 days! He nursed nearly every hour with just one or two longer stretches each 24 hour period. He weighed 7 lb 3 oz last Monday and by Friday he weighed 7 lb 10 oz!
