I vote too unique... I grew up with a unique name that requires spelling and correction of pronunciation on a daily basis so I admit, I'm biased towards easy to spell and easy to pronounce names.
What about Rowan? That's what it reminded me of.

I love it - big LOTR fans in this house; DH has suggested William as a boys name for us, because he wants to nickname him Bilbo! But since we're team green we'll have to wait and see.

I say go for it. I work in customer service and I wish people would spell their names all the time, even "easy" ones because sometimes they think "of course everyone knows how to spell Meghan" well, no...we don't. We spell it Megan. So yes, name her Eowyn and teach her as she's growing up that whenever she gives her name over the phone or in school she should spell it out.

I think lord of the rings when I see this name..
It's pretty.. But people would pronounce it incorrectly all the time -
I think it really depends on the last name. If it's something like 'Eowyn Morgan', I get it. But if the last name isn't strongly Welsh, I might take a pass.

I have always had to spell my name out and I have a commonish name. It's tough having everyone mispronounce your name.

I love it! I'm a fan of LOTR, and knew how to pronounce it, but if you love it, I say go for it!

I'm a huge LOTR fan but I don't know I'd use it I think it's really pretty though.
