Got my son an anywhere chair but I think it looks awful!! I've tried moving around the inserts to fit at the seams and it's just not happening. Is this how it's supposed to look or is it user error? Any suggestions?
If this is how it's supposed to look it's going back. I'm not paying $120 for a child's chair that looks like that when I could have bought one cheaper elsewhere.

I don't have one but heard friends of ours commenting on how theirs looks like yours, while our other friends' looked like the catalog. I'd contact PBK and tell them it's not right- they will prob send you a new one.

Omg I had the exact same issue!!! I think I wrote a post on it, will trybto find it. I had pottery barn send out a different insert like 3 times and finally I was able to get it to look halfway decent. But doesn't look nearly as perfect as in the catalog.

I think that's a fabric problem...it's twill, right?
We have one that is the performance microfleece with a sherpa edging and it's stretchy, so the chair has held up perfectly going on 4 years now.

Ok - I'm glad I'm not crazy! I've had so many issues getting this freaking chair. Part of me just wants to wipe my hands of it. But I do think it's cute, and my LO loves it. Guess I'll call customer service.

@hilsy85: Really?! I've had awful luck with them so far. I ordered the chair middle of August. Was supposed to be here on August 31st. I called on the 4th of September and asked where it was and they were like 'oh, we don't know why it wasn't shipped. We'll ship it now.' - um, ok. So they shipped and it was supposed to be here yesterday (the 10th)...except they only shipped the slipcover. No insert. So when I called they basically said they would send a new one but it wouldn't get to us until the 16th - they refused to overnight. I told them to forget it and I picked up an insert at the store instead. And now it looks like crap.

Ours does that and it looks better now that the fabric has had a chance to stretch a bit. That said, it's not perfect, but because we don't have the contrast piping the misalignment isn't as obvious. Maybe try a cover that's monochromic?

@Littlebit: oh no! That's awful! Maybe it depends who you speak to...they were so understanding with me when I asked to exchange the insert 3 separate times...

I would be really upset too. I think I would call and try asking to speak to a manager. Sometimes going up the food chain helps out. I just had issues with our insurance company and as soon as I asked to speak to a manager they magically figured out a way to fix my problem.

Just an update. I wrote a pretty pissed email asking if it was a problem with the insert, the cover, or user error. They said cover and mailed out a new one. Got it and it still looks awful. I've emailed them again. This is so annoying! My son loves it but I hate looking at this stupid thing every day.

@Littlebit: have you tried washing the cover and putting it on the insert while slightly damp so it can stretch out a bit?

@Littlebit: why don't you get a different fabric? If they're willing to give you a new cover, I'd tell them that you don't want this one because it's the same fabric.
Try the sherpa, seriously!

Mine looks pretty similar to yours although I don't think it has the contrasting piping, so it's not as obvious. Honestly, my kid beats on his chair so it doesn't really bother me!
I'd either ask for a refund or try stretching it while damp like @Hilsy85 suggested.

Ours is kind of like that but over time has broken in. Several people have put it together so I don't think it's user error unless we all can't figure it out. Now that the cover looks better though it's stained in a million places and won't wash out. I'm tempted to buy a new one but it was a gift and they are so expensive!

Just heard back - they said it's very unusual for two covers to fit like that...she wants to know if I bought the right size insert. 
Obviously!!!! I purchased it from the store and had them confirm that the cover I got from the website would fit the insert I bought from them.

Ours wasn't a perfect fit at first, but looked better after washing and being broken in. Looks just like the catalog now. I also agree with maybe trying a different type of cover.

I guess I just need to get over it and try washing it. I'm mostly annoyed because I've never purchased anything from PB (usually out of my price range) and I splurged on this item because I liked the colors of this cover and because of the great reviews. I'm frustrated the piping looks so sloppy and nothing like the other chairs I've seen.

When we ordered our chair the monogram was stitched to the chair! I called and they not only sent a new one but screwed up and sent a lank one also! I don't think we have the problem you're having but i found the qc to be super low!

@BandDmommy: No, I haven't had time to go there and probably won't be able to this weekend. I'm going to try washing it this weekend and see how it looks. I think I need to just get over it...I'm sick of dealing with it and considering my son uses it as a jungle gym - it probably won't ever look great!

When I was researching chairs for DD1 I considered the PBK chair but the price and mixed reviews made me get the Pkolino Little Reader chair. It's been 3 years and the chair is still good as new with no sagging/deformed foam or fabric deterioration. And it's only around $50! I'm super happy with it and recommend it to my friends. Not sure you can customize it like PBK chairs but I've seen my friends' PBK chairs after a year or two and they look pretty beat up.

@AmeliaBedilia: the white piping doesn't match up with where it should on the chair. If you look at the picture with him, near his foot is the piping. An inch above is the curve of the seat where it should be. It's like that at the top and on the arms also.

Kind of hard to tell in the pic, but I almost feel like the inserts are in the wrong way if that's even possible? For instance, it looks like the back has a center piece that is protruding? Ours is one solid big piece in the back? Either way, I'd probably just bring it into the store and have them figure it out and/or give you a new cover. We have a fur cover and it looks great even after multiple washings and adults who always end up sitting in it when they come over. Everyone seems to love sitting in it.
