Our baby is due in a few weeks and I would really like to have some other mommy friends (most of our friends don't have kids yet). I am a member of a mom swap group on Facebook and was thinking of posting that I am in search of other mommy friends.
Is this weird? I'm not sure how to go about meeting other moms. Any other suggestions?

I don't think so! I was in your position and found that I just had to put myself out there in ways that were kind of uncomfortable at first, but ended up being really great. Honestly, I think there are always more people than you would think who can relate to your predicament and they might just appreciate someone being forthcoming about it?

Not weird!!! I did this. I've been meeting up with other moms for walks and it's been great, all after posting on a mom Facebook group!!

I knew no one that was pregnant the same time as me, and no new moms. I would've loved to have come across a post like that!

Pretty much every new mom I know has talked about how difficult it is finding new mom friends! Not weird at all and so many other people are in the same position.
Actually, I think in general, so many people want to meet more friends but don't want to seem like the weird one 'looking for friends', so I think this is the perfect time to do it!

I don't think that's weird at all! Very good, actually! Are there any groups run through your hospital at all? I also knew almost no one with babies/pregnant women before our son was born, but joined a few groups through our hospital and met so many new moms! It's been wonderful so far.
