How do you keep it warm enough in the winter? Do you use space heaters in some rooms?

We have a small apartment, but it has a huge sliding glass door in the living room that does keep it cool. We just keep the heater up higher and wrap up LO warm at night.

Ours is a little drafty ( lots of big windows). We. Are going through and weather stripping everything we can and we keep blinds shut during cold weather. We have a space heater in the baby's room and really heavy blankets in ours (so much so that we're now turning the heater to 55 at night!)

Our old home was drafty and “draft stoppers” helped a ton. They are easy to make, too. Just make a fabric tube-shape and fill with rice. We put them at the bottom of a sliding glass door, and on window sills for the draftier windows.
You can also hang heavy blankets in doorways, which also helps a bunch. We hung a blanket up at the doorway to the upstairs so that the heat didn’t all just travel upstairs. When we did that, the downstairs stayed noticeably warmer.
We also used a space heater.

A little bit, but pretty much only in our bathroom. We have all new windows in the rest of our house, except our bathroom. We are remodeling our bathroom and just wanted to wait to replace that one until then. We just keep our bathroom door closed pretty much all the time. It really makes for fast showers!

The replacement windows in our apartment are not the best fit, they're drafty. That plastic shrink film you put over helps a TON. Last year we put the more tight rope putty around the windows, then the plastic wrap, and closed heavy drapes at night & didn't even turn the heat on all winter (and we live in new England!)! We haven't been that hardcore this year

We use space heaters and keep our blinds closed. It's still drafty because we have an older home with poor insulation and the windows are thin.
