Our pediatrician is male.
DD's used to be female, but we moved and like new doctor SO MUCH MORE.

She's female. I didn't have a preference either way but she's amazing and came highly recommended.

Female and she is incredible!! I love her!!
Growing up I had a male dr until I was mid-teens. I didn't mind until I was about 14-15. So I hope J doesn't mind.

She doesn't really have a pediatrician. There are several doctors in the practice & she's seen a couple difference ones so far. When should I think about picking one to stick with? Or should she be fine seeing them all?

Male. I don't really care either way, but maybe a mom pediatrician would validate new mom concerns more?

@shopaholic: I worried about this. But my husband really wanted a male doctor. He can be a bit shy and he said he would just feel more comfortable to ask questions with a male doctor so we went with a male. And he is honestly AMAZING. I had a total break down in his office when my daughter was a week old because I was terrified that she was going to suffocate in her sleep (I had a little pp anxiety until the hormones settled down). He was so comforting and understanding, I was really impressed and he has continued to be incredible ever since!

Male and I don't really care for him. I think he probably does really well working with older kids but I don't think treating toddlers/babies is right for him. I'm looking in to switching.

Male. We tried female when we first went to the practice. She missed an ear infection! I chose another doc.

Male, he's great and easy to relate to - prob bc he's only a couple of years older than me and we have alot in common and I secretly want to be friends lol

Female...she's really great. My mom actually recommended another doctor in her practice, but somehow we ended up with her, and we like her a lot.

Male. We like him, but as the kids get older we'll switch them to a GP, preferably female.

Female. I didn't really have a preference, she was just the one I liked most. I love her though! She's pretty laid-back and is really great about consulting "mommy's intuition" before making recommendations.

Female, and we LOVE her! She's amazing, she's affectionate & really makes us feel like she's listening to our concerns. We couldn't have picked a better doctor.

Female. LO and I have the same doctor. I chose female for my pregnancy (that was the first time we used her) because I'm not comfortable with a male OB/GYN. Didn't even think about her gender when we chose her for DS's doctor, but I do think I like it better? Like, I was having issues with plugged ducts in the beginning, and she checked them out when we had LO in for an appt. I don't think I'd feel as comfortable with a male feeling on my boobs, etc. I also like that she's female because she can empathize with my mom neuroses more.

There are three doctors in the practice and they're all female. I was happy about this when one of them looked at my boob at 1 wk pp and diagnosed me with mastitis!

ours is a male doc, but a mix of other partners (6) we love ours.. soooo thorough with us, so gentle with DS, and the only one we interviewed pre-baby!
