I have a primary OB but I see other Drs, Physican Assistants and Nurse Practitioners from his team when he is unavailable.

A group. There are 4 OBs and 2 nurse practitioners. It's grown a lot since I started seeing her.

Yep. There are 19 OB's, NP's, and CNM's that cover the southern 17 counties or something. I like it but at least in this pregnancy wish I was getting more consistent care, I'd been seeing an NP and I did not realize a)she couldn't do deliveries or b)she was leaving at the end of 2014 so essentially I'm 22 weeks and have NO idea who will deliver this kid. Last time I'd seen a midwife through all our infertility and then she stuck with me through birth, she moved out of state though.

I see a midwife group - they encourage you to meet them all since you never know who will be on call come delivery day.

I started out with an OB who had three partners (so a total of four in the practice). I switched to a sole practitioner.

Mine is a group of 3 OBs. They're all lovely ladies, it was fun to get to know each of them during checkups while pregnant.

Group of 6, however I've only ever seen the PA when she's not available. I do know she's out for my next appointment and they said I would see one of the male doctor's, which makes me a little nervous! ha I've never met him, but I know he's very good looking for an older man

I see a midwife & OB group.
I don't know how those solo practitioners do it! Office visits, surgery, labor and delivery... makes me exhausted just thinking about it.

Group OB. I have to see all 4 OBs at some point during my pregnancy. They're all females and I really don't mind!

Large group of 9 OBs and 2 NPs. I saw all but one during my prenatal visits with LO. He happened to be the one they scheduled my first visit with for #2. We can request certain doctors if they're available, though (and I got to schedule the one I wanted to do my c-section).

A group of 6 or 7 OBs in their practice. Another OB from the practice performed my C-section as she was the one who was on-call at the hospital that night. I was actually glad this particular OB was on-call , as she has a very warm, soothing personality. She made my C-section experience better than I could have imagined. My regular OB (who I really like) is very matter of fact, and not as warm and fuzzy.

Group of 5 OBs. The one I liked most made it to the hospital in time for delivery!

Same as @buttermilk, except it's a fairly large group so they divide it into two, and you see the midwives from your half the whole time. But they try to schedule you with each of them at some point during your pregnancy so you've met them all before delivery.

The system here in the UK is different: the midwives and obstetrician I saw were assigned to me based on where I live. I'm not sure I'd want to shop around for medical staff.

Part of a group - 2 OBs and 1 midwife. They had me seeing the midwife for the middle chunk of my pregnancy and planned on having her at my delivery until it was clear I'd need more interventions, at which point they started scheduling me with my OB again. It was nice having options! In my region the groups tend to be really large and impersonal so my practice was a nice change of pace.
