Yes! We have pretty different tastes. He vetoed my favorite name for our first daughter....but then ultimately came around after she was born nd we named our 2nd daughter that name.

Ha, yes, he vetoes all except the names he comes up with.

I am the vetoer! We never had a boy name last go around, we still don't this time!

Mine is this way. He vetoes all of my mine. In our very first conversation about names, we both liked a lot of the same names. There was a lot of vetoing, but I thought it went well and thought we had a few good options. But weeks later, he told me he was joking and all of those names had to be tossed! What?!?! That should be against the rules.

So we had to start over...and it's been so hard. I like classic names and he likes obscure/a-bit-too-unique names. When I stretch myself and offer less classic, more unique names, he vetoes them.

There is one classic girl name he likes because it was his grandmother's name. I like it, but don't love it. I don't like the idea of settling at this point.

We are no where on boy names.

It kind of feels like he is but actually, we agreed on LO's name pretty quickly. I think it helps that I have a list a mile long and we just have to agree on one.

The main problem I have is that he doesn't really ever suggest names, or if he does, they are so out there that I can't ever tell if he is joking (seriously, it's been years and I still have no idea if he actually thinks Ezra is a good name for a girl or if he just likes to get a rise out of me).

Yes. When we first talked about names, I showed him my whole long list. We agreed on one name. That's what we went with. I liked the name, but didn't love it. We can't seem to agree on boys names at all, so I have no idea what we'll use if we have a boy next.

Yes!! Then he suggested a name for LO2 that he outright vetoed for LO1 (and we used it).

Yes! I'm tempted to try and use reverse psychology on him to get him to agree to a name I really like! He doesn't like anything that is even remotely outside the traditional and normal box, so it severely limits our choices. For a boy, I liked Lachlan, Finley, Oliver, and Henry. All vetoed and we eventually agreed on a rather 'boring' name if this baby is a boy. Similar story with girls names....sigh.

Yes. We've only been through it once so far, but DH is a teacher and almost EVERY name has a connotation to him (whether good or bad). He was even kind of against names of "good" students that I liked because it seemed like he was naming DD after them.

Nope, I am! Not like he comes up with many suggestions but the one boys name he really likes I vetoed and pretty much 100% of all other names in existence I have vetoed as well.
