I don't know if I could marry someone who was religious since I'm not, and religion is such a big part of who you are. Luckily mr bee and his family aren't religious and neither are mine.
Is one person in your relationship religious while the other isn't? Do you plan to raise your lo under that religion?

We are not very religious, we have our beliefs but are not go to church people. We attended the other night for example because our niece was getting dedicated, but we don't normally attend. So we are both on the same page.

We are both religious and we are raising LO as Christian. And yeah, religion is such a huge part of one's life so it was important to me to marry someone like-minded in that area.

My whole family is religious and DH and his family are not. DH is easy going though and converted to my religion so now he is kind of religious. Not as much as my family but it doesn't bother me at all.

I am an atheist & DH goes to church & helps in the youth program at his church every Sunday. But he goes to a UU church, so it's not like a lot of churches where the focus would be on specific religious doctrine, it's more about being a positive force in our world & living a good and generous life. There are plenty of people who do not believe in a god that attend. He is agnostic, so we aren't polar opposite, just not exactly alike. If he had remained catholic like he was raised, I would not have considered dating him because our views would have been too different.

Both DH and I are religious.... but he grew up in a very Christian home and I didn't. I became Christian on my own when I was 18 years old. My family is still not religious.

@Mrs. Bee: i feel kind of silly admitting this, but i always assumed you were christian. mainly because you're korean and so nice. is that weird? sorry.
my parents didn't raise us with any religion or faith, but we went to catholic school for 12 years (my brother for 16) for the education. so i learned a lot of catholic stuff.
my husband was raised catholic and was even confirmed, but he's not practicing.
i don't think we'll be raising our kids with any religion.

Neither of us are religious, and I don't think either of us could be with someone religious, since it is such a fundamental part of who you are.

i actually went to a christian church from ages 5-16 and was super active. my family wasn't religious though, and used to punish me by not letting me go to church since it was such a social thing for me. i was there at least twice a week, and i was on praise team! i think religion is great and it was great for me at the time, but ultimately i decided i was not a religious person.

I am and DH is not. My MIL kicked DH out of her house when he was 16 because he didn't want to go to church. That kind of ruined church for him all together.

I am Catholic, and go to mass most of the time. I wouldn't say that I'm crazy religious though. If I skip a week, whatever, no big deal DH is not religious.

I am Catholic and my husband was raised in the Church of England, but is not practicing. We had a Catholic wedding and he has agreed to baptize LO, so he's pretty good about it. Honestly, I don't think he has any real objections to Catholicism, but he doesn't want to give up his Sunday going to mass.

Neither of us are religious at all, although I think he is more agnostic and I am more atheist.

DH and I were both raised in the same church, though I still attend bi-weeklyish and he goes at Christmas time mostly. When we have a LO they will be baptized and I will take them every week...don't know if I can convince DH to come that often, though!
That being said our church (United Church of Canada) is very liberal - supports gay marriage, women's rights, contraception, pro-choice, etc.etc... I think being part of a church that so closely is in line with my personal beliefs makes it easier to attend on a regular basis.

I am religious DH wasnt so much. His family is very mixed. Some are some aren't. Although they have different beliefs. DH
converted to my faith, because he wanted to and said he felt comfortable. We don't go to mass every Sunday but for the most part we do.

I am religious and my faith is very important to me. When DH and I first met he was not religious, but that changed as we got to know each other and I started bringing him to church with me. Now, he is definitely a devoted Jesus guy and we will definitely be raising our LO as a Christian.

DH's dad was forced into religion as a child so now he wants nothing to do with it.

We're pretty similar on the religious front. Our kids are being raised Catholic. I think I would have been fine with someone who was not religious, as long as we shared worldviews/personal beliefs.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: ugh, yeah. He goes to church with me every Sunday and has for the past two years so he is supportive of my faith. He had no problem having our LO's baptized + he's talked about getting baptized. I just don't ask him if he wants to be Christian/Catholic because I don't want to scare him away. All I can do is step back and let him make decisions about his faith.
