The Cheezburger network (failblog, etc) used to have a section called "it made my day," where people could share the little things that happened that, well, made their day. I really loved it because it was so positive, whereas most of the internet seems like such a celebration of negativity (failblog, lamebook, fmylife, etc). I was sad when they got rid of it.

So I was hoping maybe I could at least start a thread here for sharing those sorts of things. It's so nice to hear about good things that happen to people. Also, if anyone knows any sites like that, let me know!

I'll start. I have two today. Firstly, I was walking the dogs earlier and ran into the older fellow (60's or 70's?) who lives across the street. He broke his wrist, and he got a hot pink cast just because he thought it would be fun to see people's reactions. Obviously it's not good that he broke his wrist, but the cast really made me smile.

Then a sort of two-parter. I checked the mail on my way to the grocery store, and there was a Valentine's Day card from FIL for us, and it had $20 in it. Which made me very happy in itself. But then I got to the store and there were girl scout cookies. I normally don't carry cash, so I couldn't have gotten any, but because I had the $20 from FIL I could! I've been looking forward to some thin mints, so I smiled the whole way home with them.
