You can clean your house when you find out someone is coming over!! Hahah!
Someone called and said they wanted to see us before Christmas vacation so we had 1.5 hours to clean and our house was sooo messy from gift wrapping, cooking, Christmas DIY presents etc.... I am amazed we got it as clean as we did! Ha!

So true! Sometimes, like lazy should be cleaning Sunday afternoons, I think we should invite someone like mil over just so I can get motivated & get things cleaned! Lol

At one point I had a visitor every day of the week, and my house was soooo clean (visibly clean of course). I love the extra motivation to tidy up.

@erwoo: lol, well normally I tidy up as oppose to clean clean but this particular guest is the mom I used to nanny for and despite she and her husband working FT jobs she stills manages to keep an immaculate house with two young children. Always. She would apologize if the morning dishes weren't done by the time I got there (9am!)... Sooooo that's why I heavy duty cleaned haha!

@Mrs. Pen: Oh, I totally understand! We have a neighbor who are both doctors and their house is immaculate as well. The wife came over last week and I was horrified at how our house looked when she left 20 minutes later. My son managed to spread toys all over the floor that she had to walk around it to get out. I'm not normally THIS messy but it's so hard with kids!

@Mrs. Pen: We taught Nicholas how to clean up his toys shortly after he started walking (11 months). Probably one of the best things we've taught him, so far. He used to LOVE helping us clean up. Now-a-days, he only cleans up when he wants to do something or wants something. I'll take that. At least our floors are cleared by the time we go to bed at night. Haha!

This is so true! Everyone always says "oh, you're house is always so clean!" If only they knew what it looked like 2 hours before that...

DH's family is very judgemental so I always try to super-duper clean when I think they'll be stopping by. I hate when they surprise us and something is out of place.... even though they have the dirtiest house ever. Ugh!
