that means clothes, shoes, and accessories. I will still be buying makeup, but only when I run out of a product I use regularly..
I just don't get out much anymore with two kids, and I dress so much more casual now. I've shopped more than my fair share pre-kids, so I figure I can go without for a year, since our childcare costs are so high and two kids are expensive!

Wow I'm impressed!! I'm actually really not a big shopper. I just kind of grab things if something catches my eye. But it's almost always in inexpensive stores: gap, target, etc. but I don't think I would make it a whole year!

As far as clothes/shoes/accessories, I probably buy one thing a month, which could range from $10 - $100. I don't normally shop for myself anymore (so sad). I have plenty of clothes/shoes/bags to last me until we're financially more secure!

I could probably go til the rest of the year without shopping too. I wanted to pick up some maternity clothes, but I bet I could do without--especially since I'm always home anyway.

Impressive! I love to shop and even got a lot of maternity clothing (and doh will have spent 6 wks on bedrest so some were a waste!). I am buying a one piece bathing suit for post baby and I may need to get some new pants in the fall when i return to work as I have no idea if I will be able to squeeze back into my pre preg size....but otherwise I am done!

I've already gone a year without shopping! I used to shop like crazy.... when my parents were paying my bills. But now we just don't have extra money for things we don't need. I did just go on a shopping spree- but it was because my mom pushed me out the door, said she was babysitting LO and the pup, and handing me her credit card. Who's going to say no to that?!

Ever since I had #1, I pretty much stopped shopping for myself... Especially the first year. It was easy... I didn't even realize it, but I pretty much only shopped for her. It was just much more gratifying! Same now with #2 this past year. I'll probably only go back to shopping if I go back to work and need office clothes.

I am doing that with my health and beauty items, I have a large stash I need to work through, but if I do run out of something specific I will replace it.
Same with clothes, shoes, accessories unless they are for special occasions. I did make one exception though, and that is to allocate my clothing money to laser treatments for my bikini line. I've had 5 treatments so far and it is the best money I have ever spent, wish I did it sooner.

@looch: I did laser down there and some of it grew back while I was pregnant! I was so bummed. I plan on doing a touch up once I am done having kids.
I could probably go a year without shopping for myself as well. The temptation is really not the same once the LO came along and I have to be a lot more frugal on myself.

I usually only buy clothing for myself if it is a necessity (i.e. shoes need replaced, etc). However right now I'm doing a lot of shopping because the majority of my maternity clothes were geared to winter and I need some for summer. I do try to only buy stuff on sale, Craigslist and e-bay to try and keep costs down.

Ok, crazed shopper here. Or maybe sometimes it just seems/feels like it! In my defense a lot of my pre preg stuff doesn't fit well and as it's too big I am telling myself that it will never fit so need new stuff! I also am finding all these US sites that ship so the world is my oyster!

@Andrea: I don't expect it to be 100% removal forever, I have a terrible time with ingrown hairs so if it even reduces it by 50% that's a victory for me.

@looch: i haven't had any other hairs grow back except for the ones during pregnancy so i think it was just due to crazy hair growth during that time. otherwise, i think the results are great!

I am a shopper, but have cut back since becoming pregnant, it's just not as fun. My mom took me maternity clothes shopping to get me a starter wardrobe and I have just been wearing those pieces none stop. It's depressing, I tried to go "normal" clothes shopping for a shirt to wear for my birthday and I left in tears. Nothing looked good! So I will have to sick to maternity or shoes!

I'm usually a shopper, but since I've gotten our BFP. Only bought maternity-wearable clothing. I refuse to buy anything this summer or fall. There's no point!

I"m not a bigger shopper for clothes so I could probably do it. However, I might complain I need more clothes, but I'm too lazy and impatient to go shopping. Ha! So glad my hubby does it for me.
