@AmeliaBedilia: Sounds like you made the best decision for both of you. Good luck and hope this cycle is the one!

@GreenThumb: That's one full office visit!! Even though it's not going to be until 2016 (which is not that far away!!), do you feel good about having a plan to move forward?
@AmeliaBedilia: Sending lots of baby dust your way!!!
For folks who have done FET--what, if anything, did you do (or wish you had done) to prepare the couple days beforehand? I'm going to cook a few extra meals this weekend, do laundry, straighten up a bit, get activities ready for the kid/hubby to do, get my nightstand set up for relaxing after the transfer and trying to think of what else I should do. thanks!

Sorry for the silence you guys. We have been away for the last 8 days, glorious time at the beach.
I got a positive test at 9dp4dt.
I was nervous because it was faint, but it was a line. I was thrilled!
This morning's line was fainter, this afternoon's barely there.
Looks like another chemical pregnancy, so loss #3.
No words to express the disappointment here. This all feels like a cruel joke.

@jaguar: I am so sorry. That is incredibly unfair. I have no good words....just thinking of you and hoping for a miracle for you.

@jaguar: I am so very sorry, and keeping you in my thoughts. do you go in for a blood test this week?
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@jaguar: Was it a FRER? FX you're not out of the running yet...
@endymion4: My preference is to plan a nice relaxing evening, good food, maybe a funny movie...and then try to carry on "life as usual" for the TWW! Sending good thoughts!

@endymion4: Netflix or Hulu was key for me. Another thing I did this time which I had not done with my unsuccessful FETS was some dietary changes. I gave up all coffee, even decaf, a week before the transfer. Following the transfer I ate an avocado a day, avoided cold raw veggies and drank warm herbal tea (all recommendations I had read when searching FET advice). I have no idea if any of those changes are what made it work, but I liked feeling like I had a little control over something.
apricot / 365 posts
@FliegepilzHut: Thank you!!
@bloved: Thanks! dropped the caffeine (seems like FOREVER ago, but probably been a week or so ;)). Can't do the avocados because I became allergic to them after having my daughter, but will try the herbal teas and no cold veggies!!

@FliegepilzHut: Yes, all FR's. It's so faint now, it's basically a squinter. My beta is tomorrow.

@jaguar: I am so sorry you are going through this. I've been thinking of you often and was wishing so hard for good news. I will say that with my only successful FET, I did not get even the tiniest of a line until the morning of 8dp5dt, and my first beta was only 44 the following day. I stopped POAS and never saw the line get dark. So hoping that there is a chance for you! But I've also been through two chemicals since and absolutely know the pain of taking test after test only to see them get lighter.
pear / 1986 posts
@endymion4: Yes, I need to keep telling myself that 2016 isn't too far away. Taking this time to gear up. set my head on straight (as much as possible), exercise and eat well. So much time has gone by since my only other fresh cycle in 2012, and so much is different this time around (hopefully for the best).
Wishing you so much luck with your transfer! I would just recommend doing what you can do to relax both before and after! Take some time out for yourself and treat yourself right.

@jaguar: I have been thinking about you and just saw your news. I'm so sorry that it's looking like a chemical. I'm still keeping everything crossed for it to go the other way. Big hugs, chica.

@endymion4: Thinking sticky baby thoughts for you for your FET tomorrow and wishing you all the best! I have no advice to share, of course, but please let us know how it goes.
@GreenThumb: Glad you had such an informative meeting with your new RE(s)! Based on my current situation, I'm impressed with their proactiveness on keeping you from overstimming. It sounds like they have really personalized their approach so far. Super promising!
@agold, @waitingforyou: I read this really comprehensive blog entry the other day and thought of you both. https://jennergetic.wordpress.com/2013/12/28/a-guide-to-learn-from-your-failed-ivf-cycle/
@NorthStar: I think you are stimming now or soon. How's it going?
@AmeliaBedelia: Hope you had/are having great TI! thanks for sharing that hilarious video!!!
@dookie32: Thanks for sharing about your follow-up experience. I agree that the whole OHSS monitoring has been totally missing from my RE. It was kind of a DIY thing. I'm going to see if my OBGYN will u/s me again in a month to check my ovaries and make sure all is well. I don't understand why I have to ask for that, but this is the DIY care I'm experiencing! Talk about being your own advocate!
Lots I could say here, but suffice it so say that I've let the RE know that I feel like my post-retrieval care has been insufficient and, after talking at length with the practice administrator, they are changing some of their policies... We decided there really wasn't much to follow up on unless I need to do another IVF round...or if the RE contacts me with some important things to discuss about the next steps. Honestly we just want to get to the FET and hope we don't need to hash out how this could have been prevented or not. They did agree to lower my saline sono fee a bit... That's a positive.
TMI, but I got a "second period" after I stopped BCPs only three days in. So I bled a normal AF, took three days of pills and it stopped, and then it restarted with a vengeance! It was super heavy and painful but now I hope I am back to normal!
It looks like I'll be joining the 2016 club!

Hey everyone.. I will be having my FET 11-17. We did ivf in September and I had 46 eggs retrieved and we ended up with 20 embryos. We transfered one fresh and it didn't work. We froze the other 19. I'll be transfering one again due to Dr's recommendations. We did not do pgd testing since we are paying all out of pocket. Really hoping this works. I finish my bc pills in three days. I have been so nauseous from them.. Kind of worries about the del estrogen injections. Also I feel like I'm developing anxiety and mild depression.. Has this happened to anyone else? I just so badly want this to work already. I start back with my Accupuncturist next week.
I should add.. We did ivf because I have pcos and don't ovulate on my own. I'm 28 years old and dh is 30. I had a mc at 5.5 weeks in March after getting pregnant from clomid. Then clomid stopped working for me.. Cancelled cycles with injections due to too many mature follicles so we did ivf so we wouldn't have as many disappointments .

@jaguar: omg!!! When did you take the top one?! I'm sending as many good wishes and baby dust as I can here in the US.
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@NorthStar: the digi was this morning, same as the bottom FR. The lines are so faint, it can't be a positive outcome. hoping for a miracle, but expecting another loss. xx
pear / 1986 posts
@jaguar: A positive on the digital is a good sign though! FX so hard for you! When do you hear about your beta?
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@jaguar: I'm holding onto hope for you.., and I know the waiting and disappointment is absolute hell! Hang in there!!!
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@jaguar: I would tend to trust the positive digi. Aren't those less sensitive? So that fact that you got a positive on a digi would seem to be very encouraging! When do you find out the results of your blood test?
@Hopingforbaby: Hi! I transferred two fresh recently and it didn't work. I was bummed, but just equally as bummed as I was about learning I only had two frozen embryos. I did not do pgd testing since I have no reason to have it done. I'm sorry you are having anxiety and depression. Everyone handles this differently and both of those emotions are very valid. This is a tough thing to go through, especially paying out of pocket on top of just wanting a baby in general. Just breathe. You have 19 chances left!! And what is a "del estrogen" shot? Little stomach needle or intramuscular needle?
@Amorini: You are so sweet to respond to everyone. I honestly can't keep up with where everyone is at in their cycles. Maybe we should have some kind of a date board like the POAS threads have. Just a thought... Anyhow, thank you so much for sending the blog post. I'm printing it out right now to read later today. Good for you for speaking up at your RE's office. And hooray about the adjusted HSS price! That's amazing! Every little bit helps at this point. I hear you on not wanting to spend time hashing out past occurrences. I'm ready to move on to FET too! Do you think your FET will be occurring in 2016, or sometime late 2015 with the results in 2016?
AFM - I just finished up my mock cycle with an endometrium lining biopsy. It was the most uncomfortable, and dare I say painful, thing I've done through this whole IVF process. I thought I was going to pass out. Thank god its done and I don't need to do it ever again. Now I'm just left regretting the white g-sting I chose to wear this morning. Bad decision...

@jaguar: Sending prayers your way!
AFM, 2DPO. I started the prednisone yesterday, ovidrel booster is tomorrow. This is the first cycle in months where I ovulated on the left, so maybe that means the acupuncture is working.

@jaguar: I've heard a line is a line, so I wouldn't count things out just yet! sending lots of good vibes your way for the blood test tomorrow!!
i just got back home from our FET. eating a snack and watching TV while hubby tries to wrangle the kid into a nap (it does not sound like it's going well--she's definitely a mama's girl!). The worst part for me was having to drink all that water before hand--I felt like i was going to BURST. I couldn't wait until they told me it was okay to get up and pee I think i would've been able to pass the time better if DH was there (he had to go pick up DD from preschool), but the book I took helped a bit.

@endymion4: Glad it seemed to have gone smoothly. Sending prayers for a sticky embryo!

@AmeliaBedilia: Thank you! It's going to be a LONG wait to the blood test!!
persimmon / 1132 posts
@agold: I bet my FET will be January '16 at this point ... So sorry your biospy was super painful. I have heard it's a really good test to do, just to confirm all is good down there. Ouch...g-string.
Hey, I like the idea of a calendar. Does anyone HATE that idea?
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@endymion4: Best of luck with this FET!!
When is your blood test? Two weeks or one week?
@AmeliaBedilia: Best of luck with this TWW! How often do you go to acupuncture?
@Amorini: January 2016 really isn't that far away at all. At least you can get through the holidays without the being on the IVF roller coaster. The choice of undies wasn't painful, just maybe the color wasn't good. But it's actually not been an issue afterall. It was momentarily painful and nauseating but no lingering pain. I should know the results by Thursday at the latest. And in case anyone is interested, this mock cycle ended up costing me $1,241.00. I really hope both our FETs are successful!

Thanks guys. Had bloods done just now, so it'll be a LONG wait til I (hopefully) hear back this afternoon. This is the worst. Haven't peed this morning.

@jaguar: Good luck!!!! Hoping the best for you - I know how distressing the light tests can be, especially when you have a lot of experience to know what's usual for you - holding out hope for you that that beautiful blast just needed a couple extra days to nestle in.

@Amorini: thank you!
@agold: thank you! blood closer to 2 weeks. Day 12, i think
@jaguar: thinking of you!!

@agold: thanks for the sweet message. You're right, just need to breathe! Del estrogen injection is intra muscular.

Levels are in -- beta of 51. They like to see 100 (though she said technically anything 50+ is suitable) ... so repeats in 2 days. LIMBO HELL.
apricot / 365 posts
@jaguar: SO hard to wait, but there's still such a strong possibility! fingers crossed for you!!!
pear / 1881 posts
@agold: I'm so sorry that the biopsy was SO painful, but you had me chuckling about your underwear choice. I've heard good things about having the biopsy done and leading to better implantation rates, so hopfully, this does the trick for you.
@jaguar: Thinking of you and hoping that the betas rise more until your next draw. I cannot imagine the stress of this and am so sorry you have to go through it again..
I'm getting to the end of my Lupron and have my baseline ultrasound Thursday morning. If all looks good, I'll be able to start stims on Friday!
So, you gals might be able commiserate with me - I was at a client yesterday and she was asking about my daughter and how old she was. I told her that she was 3.5 and she asked if we were having another. I'm sick of covering it up, so I told her that we were doing IVF. She didn't know what that was, so I explained. Then, she proceeds to say "when we had our children, we didn't get pregnant the first month and I was SO disappointed and upset. I don't know how people go through that that every month." umm, I didn't even know what the say - you were disappointed the one month you didn't get pregnant because you got pregnant on month #2?! Sorry, but that doesn't even come close to what we are going through..

@NorthStar: Ugh. some people are so wrapped up in their own little world, I don't think they are actually listening to anything. they just want to contribute their part to the story That's when I wish you could hit someone on their forehead in a "should've had a v8" kind of way
pear / 1986 posts
@jaguar: Oh boy, I wish this first beta had been more definitive for you! But, looking at the latest POAS tests on your blog, they are getting darker. Everything crossed for you!
@endymion4: So glad everything went so well with your FET! Hope the TWW goes quickly!!
@NorthStar: So exciting that you are staring stims soon!! And OMG, your client! So frustrating… I know people don't know what to say, but come on!
I started my metformin two days ago and all my vitamins. Luckily I haven't had any GI issues with the new meds.
