My MIL just told me about her friend went for a massage and it helped her tipped uterus and she got pregnant right afterwards! She knows we did fertility treatments to get pregnant (although she doesn't specifically know IVF). Comments like hers still get me so ragey. Do us IVF girls ever get over such comments?
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@agold: nope. Just nope. You should have heard how many times I was told that 'nearly everyone I've known that did IVF for #1 got pregnant as a surprise for #2!' Didn't that make me feel like a piece of crap when it took us even longer, three miscarriages & a bucket load more $$ on IVF again for this baby.
NOT HELPFUL PEOPLE.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@jaguar: Yep, that is exactly how MIL's comment came up - talking about baby #2. Those kinds are comments are just so not helpful ever at all in any way. I'm still feeling ragey an hour+ later.
pear / 1986 posts
@jaguar: @agold: Oh yes, the "myth" of surprise baby #2! I feel like EVERYONE has a story to tell of a surprise #2 after IVF or an adoption. Ugh!! Because of course that happens for all of us who have gone through IF!
@endymion4: Hope you had a really nice night last night!!

Still have a positive today at 6dp5dt, so I'm feeling ok. Hoping to see this darken in the next couple of days. I feel asking to come in for an earlier beta...

@endymion4: congratulations!!!!!
@GreenThumb: OMG, so happy for you!
Sorry I've been MIA. After the IVF disaster, it's just been really hard. Then losing my job, a done thing after another. We started prednisone with the plan of three months of that before IVF #3. We also did TI and savaysa (Oral version of lovenox to treat antiphospholipid antibodies). I ovulate on my own day 14 or 15. My LP is usually 11 days on my own and I don't make much CM. I had lots of CM CD 13 so guessed I ovulated CD14. I'm now 16DPO if that's correct. I tested Sunday which was negative. My RE called to tell me we are starting testosterone 5/8 to plan for late June retrieval and I just missed the call. I called back and left a message. I thought of testing again but I feel like it's always negative. I'd read that prednisone can affect ovulation but I'm pretty clockwork on my own. Ugh, limbo is terrible. Lots of prayers please!

@AmeliaBedilia: Sending lots of positive vibes your way! So you will be starting stims in May? How the job situation? Are you looking for new position? or going to take some time to just focus on the next cycle?
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@GreenThumb: That is a great positive pregnancy test!! Try not to obsess over the darkness of the line or whatever too much.
@AmeliaBedilia: Sending lots of prayers your way! I'm so sorry you are going through a tough time right now.

@agold: so annoying!! in one ear, out the other
@GreenThumb: Yes! they moved mine up a couple days after i told them about my positive HPT! worth a try!
@AmeliaBedilia: Thank you! sending lots of good thoughts and prayers your way as you work your way out of limbo (definitely the worst feeling!)!
pear / 1986 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: Sending lots of and
your way! You deserve such a huge break after all that you've been through. I'm so glad you stopped in to say hello!
@agold: Thank you, I'm feeling pretty positive this time around... I am just neurotic after all the chemical pregnancies in the past.
@endymion4: I'm going to try and wait it out until Monday, but they did move the 1st beta up by a day or two with my fresh cycle, so maybe I'll call on Thursday if I can't hold out. I'm surprised they are doing a 3rd beta for you with numbers that high, but you will be in for a scan really soon! tomorrow, but you don't really need it
!
apricot / 365 posts
@GreenThumb: You are strong for holding out!!
I think at this point they are more concerned about the progesterone plummeting, so they may even do a 4th on Friday depending on what tomorrow looks like.
pear / 1986 posts
@endymion4: Did they have you add any additional progesterone after yesterday? FX for good numbers tomorrow.
apricot / 365 posts
@GreenThumb: thanks! they didn't add anything yet. if it goes down again tomorrow, possibly PIO. i'm on endometrin 3/day right now

@PurplePumps: so close, and yet so far!!! hope you have a good distraction for the next couple hours!!!

@PurplePumps: Can't wait to hear how your u/s goes today!! So excited for you!! How far along are you now?
@endymion4: Wishing you all the best with your numbers today!
AFM: I took the last HPT that I currently have in my possession and I'm trying to leave it at that. Pretty much as dark as it can be at this point, so really there is nothing to be worried about . Still might try to get in on Saturday/Monday for betas instead of Monday/Wednesday because it will make ordering meds a little easier if I know sooner
!
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@GreenThumb: Omg, with a positive hpt, I would totally be banging on their door for a beta already! lol
I'm 6w5d.. just got back from the scan and I saw my little blob with a little flickering heart beat! 136bpm. OMG, such relief after all the spotting and bleeding the past week. Next scan in 2 weeks at 8.5 and then I think I need to find an OB!

@PurplePumps: Awesome news!! So wonderful to see that flicker!! I am just incredibly happy for you after all you've been through. Amazing how soon you will get to graduate from your RE!

I lurk on this thread, but I just wanted to pop in and say CONGRATULATIONS to all the Mamas with their BFPs!!!
pear / 1986 posts
@PurplePumps: OK, I called... I can go in Saturday instead of waiting until Monday! I feel better now !
@Adira: I don't know if I can officially say "Thank you" yet since I'm still waiting on betas, but it is always nice to know that so many HBers are there for support!
apricot / 365 posts
@PurplePumps: fantastic news!! enjoy looking at the little black and white photo of your baby!!!! I am going to have a hard time waiting for an u/s!
@GreenThumb: woo hoo! not too long to go!
here, just waiting to hear back. I had a internal motherly debate this morning as i noticed some robins have decided to start making nests under our deck (there are about 7 nests starting to be made under there!!). on the one hand i don't want them nesting there and want to take things down before they're finished and lay eggs and on the other hand, they're just mamas wanting a safe, cozy home for their babies and i get that

labs are good, and now another 2ww until u/s during which i'll overreact to every symptom thanks to our history of pregnancy loss. nothing about this is ever easy, is it?
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@endymion4: The waiting is torture!! Hope you can keep busy for the next two weeks and it flies by! We can count down the days till our u/s together haha.

@endymion4: So glad to hear good numbers again today! I know, the waiting game seems like it never ends...

Ok, I'm sure you are sick of seeing pee sticks, but I had to run out tonight for another pack just to make sure. My anxiety is at an all time high hoping this sticks!
ETA: this is 8dp5dt, and last time, by this time I had a feeling it was going to be a chemical. This time is nothing like that

@GreenThumb: Beta day after tomorrow, right? Will they give you results same day, I hope?
How are you ladies feeling ... other than nervous wrecks??? I still can't believe that all of this craziness actually gets any of us pregnant, but it is so good that it actually works. #ivfsistersforlife
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@GreenThumb: SQUEE I have such a good feeling.
@Amorini: Still here and still nervous, man.
@bluestriped bee: Olafia *hehe* is going ok, I think! Won't see her for another few weeks, gaaaah!
pear / 1986 posts
@jaguar: @bloved: @Amorini: @bluestriped bee: Thank you so, so much ladies! We'll know more in less than 48 hours - thank goodness!!
@Amorini: Yes, same day results! I go in on Saturday between 8-9 and hopefully will hear sometime before 2.
apricot / 365 posts
@Amorini: yup, just nervous wreck hoping the next couple weeks fly by!!
@GreenThumb: perfect lines! i know it will feel so much better to get that positive phone call tomorrow to confirm

I am SO far behind, ladies! I was out of town the past two days for work and have not had any time to be online.
to catch up:
@GreenThumb: Those are amazingly beautiful lines, woman! I have no doubt that the results you get on Saturday will be fantastic! I have to say that I love that you keep buying sticks to pee on! lol
@PurplePumps: A beautiful flickering heart is so wonderful and what a relief after the bleeding you have been having. You have been so much and this makes my heart soar for you!
@endymion4: You are right that there is nothing easy about this process, but you have completed your latest hurdle and that is huge! Prayers until your next appointment and that you can continue to remain positive until then.
AFM - received my meds for my FET yesterday and start lupron on May 1st. I've started up exercising again after a 5 day break as I was out of town. Did any of you take estrace? Just curious about weight gain or how the FET meds were for you? I'll be doing lupron, then estrace and progesterone suppositories.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@GreenThumb: Holy cow lines!! Can wait to hear the beta results tomorrow!
@NorthStar: I did Estrace and Letrozole for my FET. The letrozole stopped when I started Crinone and my Estrace dosage is still the same. I had no weight gain from or side effects from it. Though, I'm pretty lucky that I've had no side effects from any of the meds I've taken, except for the Endometrin constipation.
pear / 1986 posts
@PurplePumps: @NorthStar: @endymion4: Thank you ladies for understanding all of this and giving me support! I think DH is totally freaked out that there are going to be twins so he is a little hesitant to talk about it all. Hey, we are both shocked that I might actually be pregnant for real this time in the first place!
@NorthStar: I did estrogen patches for all my FETs, so I can't comment on the estrace. But other than the Lupron, which to be honest, really negatively affected my mental state, I did not have any weight gain or other noticeable side effects. Also, once I added back the estrogen, I felt like a new person! May 1st is so close!!!
apricot / 365 posts
@NorthStar: thank you!
Is estrace a suppository? I use estradiol. Didn't specifically notice weight gain just from that. I get more from the progesterone (or at least super bloat).
@GreenThumb: I hope you have twins (if that's what you want!) when would your first u/s be?
pear / 1986 posts
@endymion4: We aren't really hoping for twins, but would be ok if it happens. Healthy baby(s) are the most important thing now! I think my first U/S would be the second week of May sometime. When is yours? You didn't end up needing another beta today did you?
apricot / 365 posts
@GreenThumb: well, then i'll just wish general 'health' for you over a number
no beta today. just a long wait first week of may mid to late in the week probably (waiting for nurse to send appt)
pear / 1986 posts
@endymion4: Thanks! BTW, you are on Lovenox, right? Has your RE said that you will need to be on it throughout your pregnancy? That is what I was told, and DH and I were just lamenting having to do shots for so long! I'm kinda wondering what my OB will suggest (assuming everything goes well).
I hope you get your appointment soon! And the time until then goes by really fast!!
