@GreenThumb: Yes, I'm on lovenox with no plan I asked to start it before the last transfer so we never talked about how long i would take it, etc! Figure we'll cross that bridge if/when we get to it
I'm going to the RE office wednesday to meet with their new mind/body person to do some mindfulness and breathing so i'll ask about my u/s date then. I'm just going to be a wreck thinking about how each of our m/cs started, so i figure it would help to meet with her.

I got my meds list for June, but it doesn't make sense. We are doing lupron flare and I was previously told no antagonist, and ganirelix is on the med list. We had discussed 1-2 vials of menopur daily and he put 2. This is probably reasonable, but we did 1 vial on round 1 (mediocre) and 2 on round 2 (disaster). I don't know if the difference between the two was higher dose meds/menopur, high HGH, a trigger issue, or lack of prednisone (I responded much better when I was on it and I have autoimmune issues). DH convinced me to call Monday for an appointment to sit down and talk to RE.

@greenthumb: can't wait for your official positive today!!!
@AmeliaBedilia: hope you get the answers you need from your RE! I am so terribly versed in the meds so have no insight to offer specifically (I always make DH research them :p)

@endymion4: I am incredibly sad to see this news and so hoping that this is not the end for you. Did you call your doctor?
apricot / 365 posts
@GreenThumb: thanks! i've been through enough miscarriages to know at this point, unfortunately. we did call dr just to let her know and will see how it progresses through the weekend, but again, been there enough to know this didn't work out. Sad, but we have a lot of fun to look forward to this summer and then we'll reassess to see if we want to try with the new RE or just move on!

@GreenThumb: Yay!! aren't you glad you moved it up a little instead of waiting for Monday for the first one?

@endymion4: Oh no! That's devastating!! I'm hoping that somehow a miracle will happen. You are in my thought and prayers.
@GreenThumb: Great beta! Congrats and hope it's smooth sailing through the betas!
@AmeliaBedilia: Glad you will talk with your RE soon and get some answers. So hoping for a happy June for you!

@endymion4: How many weeks are you? Or dpo? I have a shocking memory.
I'm hoping it's not the worst - but I do know that with all the bleeding we had early in this pregnancy, anything can happen. And Lovenox can make small bleeding spats seem even more horrific. Thinking of you!
apricot / 365 posts
@Amorini: thank you!
@jaguar: 5 weeks. It's exactly the same as my first 2 miscarriages (the next were later), so we're ready for confirmation of the news

@endymion4: *hugs* My first bleed was at 5.5 weeks and it was gushes and clots. Thinking of you. xx

@jaguar: @Amorini: Thanks ladies, still super nervous, but hoping for the best!!

@AmeliaBedilia: That does sound odd. Hope you get the med situation straightened out.

okay, ladies. need any spare prayers you have to send our way. Just had my u/s. they saw 2 sacs--in 1 they can see a yolk sack and nothing else and the other looks empty (i'm 5w4d). They can't find a source for all the bleeding, and the size of clots and loss of symptoms is concerning to them (also the bleeding just.won't.stop :(). If bleeding continues, i'm to come in again friday for another scan and if it does stop, another scan next week. this is such a roller coaster ride.
they've also left it up to us whether to stop or continue the lovenox (since it was our idea to use it not theirs), but it could be making the bleeding worse so I don't know what to do about that (I'm also still taking baby aspirin and prednisone). why, oh why, can this not just be easy???
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@endymion4: I had an almost identical situation. Two sacs, one empty. Bleeding. So sorry you are going through this. I was told to stop the baby aspirin since the purpose of the aspirin is to thin your blood. I don't know about your other medicine but why take it if your doctor didn't prescribe it? Did your doctor say anything against taking it? I'm sending all sorts of prayers and good thoughts your way. Maybe try to rest and stay off your feet as much as you can.
apricot / 365 posts
@agold: thanks! so you stopped your aspirin with bleeding? how long did you bleed? my won't stop and so many clots. did you restart it after it stopped or just stayed off of it? We did the lovenox because our 2nd opinion RE had recommended it, so we thought we'd add it in our last cycle with current RE. picking up DD in half an hour from school, so not much chance of rest but we are getting take out for every meal until my next scan!

@endymion4: OMG, seeing the sack is great! Our bodies are so f'ed from all this, maybe its just being a little off with no good explanation. I hope the bleeding stops soon!
apricot / 365 posts
@PurplePumps: thanks! i really do hope it's just something random that's going to stop soon, but it really is spiking my anxiety. the woman who did my ultrasound had twins and said she bled a ton with hers, but it's so hard to imagine an embryo could survive this my 2nd m/c was less than this
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@endymion4: Keeping everything crossed for you! I can't imagine, I was already freaking the hell out with just spotting/some heavy bleeding for like a week and a half, and you seem to be staying so calm!
pear / 1986 posts
@endymion4: OMG I am so hoping this bleeding stops for you really soon and you get some relief from all the anxiety!!
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@endymion4: Yes, I was told to stop the aspirin once the bleeding started. I started bleeding very early. It was cramping followed by bright red blood. I was told that they didn't know the exact source, but that it could be a twin. Here is the first ultrasound when I went in because of the bleeding - it was incidentally my first ultrasound I had once my third beta blood test was over 1000. Then I went in one week later for another ultrasound and the "spot" was getting smaller. My bleeding wasn't continuous. It was like a dumping of bright red blood, followed by days of constant brown blood, followed by another dumping of red blood. I could never predict what would cause the red bleeds. I only had clotting once around 10 weeks. The red bleed continued until week 12 or 14 and I have not had any since then. I'm praying that you bleeding stops soon or that it at least is established to be not a source of concern. (Ha! Easier said than done.)

@PurplePumps: i actually felt pretty okay, got to the u/s room, nurse walks in and says "tell me what's going on" and I just started sobbing uncontrollably i can't wait to meet with the mind/body person on wednesday--i haven't slept well since the bleeding started and i need someone to MAKE me be calm.
@GreenThumb: thank you! and those lines are looking LOVELY!! another beta today?
@agold: thank you for sharing your experience! mine has been mostly bright red, lots of clots and both in excessive amounts (filling overnight pads). it just doesn't make any sense to me that there could still be anything there, even an empty sac. If the 'wand' wasn't in my hooha while the picture was coming up on the screen, i would've made them make sure they weren't looking at someone else's scan. this is going to be such a torturous few days before another scan. i know it's out of my hands besides taking it as easy as i can, eating well, taking my meds, etc, but my mind won't turn off. I am tempted to have DH take all of my electronics away so i will stop googling things
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@endymion4: Yes, do stop googling. It never helps. Do you have family around to bring you food? Is your little one old enough to play by him/herself with like a puzzle on the floor or something? (I don't know anything about what kids do and so this only sounds like a dream scenario to me.) Try not to pick him/her up and really just slow down. That's probably the only thing you can do. When will you get in for your next ultrasound? I was going every week. It would take me about 3 days to recover from the anxiety of the u/s (this was when I was googling everything trying to find pictures of similar looking ultrasounds), then I would be numb for maybe the next 1.5 to 2 days, and then I would be filled with anxiety again for the next days leading up to my next ultrasound. Vicious cycle. Hope you don't do that to yourself.

@agold: unfortunately we don't live near family and hubby works pretty late, but i plan on doing take out and there's a few things frozen in our freezer that my mom made the last time she was here that we need to finish up anyways. DD is technically old enough to play by herself, but she's a clingy little one and only wants mama to do everything with her (which i actually don't mind right now bc it's a good distraction). I'm hoping the thunderstorm that they keep talking about today starts by the time nap is over and i can convince her to play board games for the afternoon (i also have some other things stashed away like stomp rockets and new art supplies that we could work on together while sitting). It's just so much nicer/easier to have her doing active things because she gets more energy out and goes down for bed better, but we'll just have to deal with it.
Next u/s will be friday or monday, depending on how the bleeding continues this week (she likes to have 3+ full days between u/s for comparison).
pear / 1986 posts
@endymion4: If your RE doesn't think stopping the Lovenox is a problem, that might be really helpful in stopping the bleeding. And really good plan about keeping your little one busy (also, I hate to say it, but TV, too!) and your family fed for the next few days. It always seems like these bleeding episodes are such a mystery to the docs... I'll continue to hope for all the best for you!!
I'm sitting here feeling sick with anxiety waiting for them to call with beta #2! Thank goodness DD is napping and my BFF was here until lunchtime keeping me company.
apricot / 365 posts
@GreenThumb: hope you get the call soon!!
we did stop lovenox as soon as the bleeding started. she's leaving it up to us whether we stay off of it (which i think we will) or not.
I have nothing against the TV, but DD won't watch more than 10 minutes before asking me to turn it off and play with her. Most of the time i love that, but now and then i'd love to leave her in front of the tv for 30mins-1 hour We've tried so many different shows and pretty much every disney movie, but nope. I might request a couple things through our library to pick up tomorrow (they have a drive through window)--1 thing she will watch a little longer is ballet performances (like the moscow ballet performing swan lake-my little weirdo ;)).
pear / 1986 posts
@endymion4: Good, I missed that about stopping the Lovenox. That sounds like a good idea. And, OMG, that is an excellent idea about watching the ballet. I'm going to have to try that for DD! It is nice to have the break when you need it, but I also find it is hard for DD to be without me most of the time .
