@Apex: congrats!! I didn't test until like 10dpt. I was too nervous, but couldnt wait longer than that. Hoping for a very sticky baby or more! Good luck Tuesday!

I still have 10 embies today. They are all different sizes though: 6 are 2 cells, one is 3 cells, and three are four cells.

I have a question for y'all. Did you test out the trigger? I'm wondering if I should test the morning of the transfer to see if I have any HCG left in my system. I'm hesitant because I don't know if I want to see two lines before it's the real deal.

@Leialou: I tested out the trigger on different cycles, though I can't remember if I did with my IVF cycle. What did you trigger with?

@Leialou: 10 embabies sounds great! What day is your transfer?

I did not test out the trigger (for the reason you mentioned - I didn't want to see two lines when it wasn't real) but now I'm regretting it because I'm not sure if I will be able to hold off POAS after all. And without testing out the trigger, I'm not sure I'll be able to trust that the lines are real and not just leftover HCG lines? I was just going to be good and wait for my betas, but of course I go on the internet and see people getting positives at so many days past their transfers and it makes me so antsy! I really want the experience of POAS and seeing a positive test, but I really DON'T want the experience of peeing on yet another stick and it being negative when it's all on the line now. I'm just glad we're going away this weekend and I can hopefully keep my mind off of everything until we get back next week. Then I can re-evaluate the POAS thing.

@Leialou: that's such great news! I hope that you never have to do a fresh cycle again with all these lovely embabies!

This is from IUI, not IVF, so I don't know if the amount of HCG in the trigger is different, but I tested out my trigger last cycle and it was gone by 9dp trigger (buttttt... I had a couple of evaps on 12dp trigger and it could have been bad wondfos but it could have been leftover HCG maybe). To be honest, having a "positive" test helped me to know where the second line is supposed to be (on later tests). I saved it to have as a reference.

@Leialou: I asked which trigger you used because Ovidrel has a shorter half-life than Pregnyl/Novarel/other brands of HCG. Ovidrel could possibly be out of your system by a 5DT but most likely not plain old HCG. If you don't test out your trigger, I might recommend not using Wondfo to POAS unless you're absolutely sure you have a batch that doesn't give evil evaps...so many of the newer batches are giving evaps!

@spaniellove: I just looked at my instructions and I used a generic version of pregnyl or novarel. I injected 5,000U. I do have wondfos, but they are at least 10 months old because I got them from lawbee.

@Leialou: I think the normal dose of Pregnyl/Novarel is 10,000 iu and it takes around 10 days for it to leave your system (although for me it was a day or two more) so with half as much you might be good by transfer day.

@Leialou: I did not test out my trigger. So I waited 10 days. I'm lucky it wasn't an evap! Or I would've been excited and then let down pretty hard. I believe I took the ganirelix trigger.

    honeydew / 7968 posts

@Apex: what trigger did u get and how long was it in your system?

  23. Apex

    clementine / 770 posts

@tequiero21: I believe it was 5000ml of the ovidrel, but i could not do a transfer then because of high estradiol levels in my system, so i didn't bother testing it out.

@tequiero21: were you able to find out how many you were expecting at that time?

  33. raintreebee

@Apex: Congratulations! You should be able to see the # of sacs at around 5 weeks.

  34. tequiero21

    honeydew / 7968 posts

@Apex: they saw one sac for sure and they said maybe there might be another during my first. For awhile, turns out one was measuring a lil behind and they hinted one may be weaker than the other or something, but then one day, they were pretty much the same!

We didn't see both until the week after. I had an u/s each week until like week 8, then switched over to an ob. But they hinted at twins because my beta was so high. Like my first beta was like 300 or so.

Baseline Tuesday. If all works out, we will have a transfer on the 20th. Gonna see what he says about inflammation. I am doing an anti-inflammatory diet and walking my kid to school 3 miles every school day.

My transfer went great! We implanted two. I will find out later in the week how many we have to freeze. The RE said these two are really good quality, so I'm feeling hopeful!
