@bizwitch: I had the same reaction when I stopped the pill and DTD after. Like I unlocked some kind of responsible adult achievement.

@jhd: that's reassuring to see. I'm cd 12 now and my line actually got lighter this afternoon. Hopefully mine show up strong like yours did!

@mrskansas: I was freaking out yesterday eve at cd12 when my line was not getting much darker. I tested this afternoon. Will test again tomorrow afternoon and see if there's any change. FX O is right around the corner for you!

So I came home this evening to find my FRER arrived a day early and asked DH if he thought I should take the test or not. At first he said no, because he had already had a bad day and didn't want to make it worse if it was negative but then changed his mind and said if it were positive that it would really turn things around. So we decided I would test and lo and behold I'm in a bit of shock and disbelief....
All I could do was giggle like a nut and dragged him from the living room to the bathroom where the test was. He didn't believe it was positive because the line wasn't as dark as the control so I had to convince him it was a positive... and at one point he was trying to get me to pee on another one to confirm and I was like "I don't have any more pee left!"
Still freaking out inside... in a good way ! Cautiously optimistic and praying for a sticky baby...

@junebugsmama: @theotherstark: @jhd: thank you! I am scared to be too excited! What do I do next? Pee on a bunch of sticks? Do I call and make an appt? I'm only 11dpo so maybe wait and see if AF shows?

@Mrs. K: well, with my hmo (kaiser) they won't see you before a certain week but they do a phone appt. they don't routinely do blood confirmation but I think you could request it. Just call and see what your ob says! ETA no point to keep peeing on sticks because any fading is so subjective and will just give you anxiety!

@Mrs. K: AAAAHHH!!! Those are some beautiful pink lines! Congratulations!!!!

I think this is another cp... pretty blank frer this morning. Maybe the faintest line. Oof.

@knittylady: how many DPO are you? Keeping everything crossed for you
nectarine / 2813 posts
@knittylady: can you post comparisons between yesterdays and todays? It may take another day to darken since hCG takes 48 hours to double
nectarine / 2148 posts
@Mrs. K: congrats! That's a really good line. I would wait until you miss AF and call the doctors. FX
@knittylady: sorry to hear that

@Synchronicity: 11 DPO. May try smu since that's what yesterday's positive was.
@mrskansas: I don't even know if it would show up on a picture- that's how faint

@knittylady: there is still time. Can you hold out until tomorrow and test again? Easier said than done, I know...

@knittylady: I vote testing again tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

@knittylady: The new curved FRERs stink at getting dark. Mine were lighter at first with FMU than later in the day, and like 5 days later had not darkened, all the while I knew HCG was doubling from blood work. Plus cheapies were darkening. They seem to show up with a faint line at a low threshold but then have a high threshold to get dark, at least the batch I had. All to say, try with an afternoon hold and try a cheapie if you can before giving up hope. I have my fingers crossed.

@Mrs. K: Yay! I am so, so happy to see this!!! Beautiful line!
Don't pee on a bunch of sticks (says the person who now has a nightly routine of peeing on a stick), they can be really finicky about getting darker, which can be stressful. Or if you need to pee on things (hah hah) try waiting 2 days to give HCG time to double. I assume you were supposed to call your RE office when your period started since you were going to do testing this month? If you tell them you had a positive HPT hopefully they will be able to have you come in for betas. If not maybe see if you can get betas from your PCP...
Yay, congrats!!!!

@knittylady: @banana330: @eko @snarkybiochemist: @booper @madisonbee: @mrskansas: @bizwitch @periwinklebee @synchronicity: thank you! praying all goes well going forward!
@knittylady: keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for you! I would agree with @periwinklebee that even though I haven't peed on many tests I did notice that the frer from last night was darker than this morning's which I found odd...
@junebugsmama: I have Kaiser too up here in northern CA and I will call them after missed AF.. I have a feeling they will probably make me wait until week 8 unless I can get seen at the infertility clinic sooner.
@periwinklebee: thank you for the advice on the FRERs, that is going to save me a lot of headache because I did notice on this morning's test that it was a tad lighter. I was supposed to call the infertility clinic on cd1 but since I haven't even been seen there I'm not sure they will do anything for me... especially since it is managed care (Kaiser). I also noticed this morning when I went onto their website to find a new ob that the one I saw for the infertility consult dropped me lol a little insulted as that has never happened in my life but I wasn't planning on going back to her anyway. I am going to switch to my husband's pcp and maybe she can help me...

@Mrs. K: Good luck getting the insurance worked out, and congrats again!!! 8 weeks is a great time for a first appointment, as you should definitely be able to see baby then!

CD 13 and trying not to be frustrated that I have no signs of anything happening yet. I know it's still early and I could get a positive OPK anytime but ugh.
pear / 1553 posts
@mrskansas: My positive was on CD 14. And then my ovulation pains were late CD14 through early CD15. It's all good!!
nectarine / 2813 posts
@bizwitch: Yes you are right. A Saturday/Sunday/Monday ovulation would be best anyways since then I know I will be able to BD a lot!

@Mrs. K: I also live in NorCal!
Well, I am out. AF started today

Got this with smu... I still don't have a good feeling about this mornings... feels way to similar to my cp in November... called my midwife and we'll see what she recommends....

@bizwitch: @knittylady: thanks ladies. I appreciate the support. And I hope you have a sticky baby, I know this limbo is excruciating.

@knittylady: Just popping in to say that's exactly how mine looked at 10/11 dpo and I got a positive on a digital (FRER digi) the next evening. My nighttime tests were always way darker than AM. I've had a chemical as well, so I know the feeling, but don't count yourself out!
