This is crazy, but DH threw out his back. He is sleeping in the guest room doped up on pain meds. I'm so jealous! He can sleep for hours! Plus he got like 7.5 the night before and was supposed to spot me so I could get a nap but that didnt happen. And now I am on night duty by myself. Is it crazy I'm jealous? He is in so much pain!

Lol, yeah I'd be jealous too. It's irrational, since he's actually in pain, but yeah, seeing someone sleep while you're not is never fun. Once he feels better, he owes you plenty of night duty! lol

Lo sleeps 12 hours so there's no night duty for us..... But I just happen to wake up at 6:30-7 every morning. Lo doesn't wake up until 8 at least, sometimes 9. I'm a sahm so I should sleep in! Dh sleeps in on the weekends. I'm jealous.

Oh, and when lo was younger and still waking up at night dh had to have surgery and actually looked forward to it because it meant going to the hospital, getting meds that would put him out, and sleeping through the night.

It's hard at first. LO is EBF so DH has never gotten up with DS!

i'd be jealous too, even if i understood that he needed his sleep and it was justified.

Oh that's so frustrating. My DH can sleep through anything and it drives me nuts. When we were at the hospital one morning a doc came in to check my healing. DH was asleep in the recliner, LO was latching on and screaming and I've got a doc checking out my bits. DH slept through it all. The doc actually asked if he was ok, because despite me yelling his name and throwing a pillow at him he remained asleep.
Needless to say I do all the night time care. Fortunately she is only up once a night now.Hopefully your DH recovers quickly and shares the burden.

DW have a deal whereby if LO wakes up and needs feeding/changing, then I go get him, unswaddle him, change his diaper and grab any boppy or burp cloths that are needed. Then I bring him through to her for feeding. I get to go back to sleep before she does, but at least I'm involved, and she can stay in bed: I'm not even claiming that this is an equal division of labour, but something's better than nothing, I hope.

We survived!! He was up 2x for an hour each time, which is fairly typical. Although he has been giving us some 4 hr chunks lately. LO is EBF too, but DH usually does the swaddle and rock him back to sleep because a) he is better and b) if I do it, I'll be up half an hour after he is down for him to eat again. But luckily tonight he went down easily.
Had to play nurse in the middle of the night to DH. I changed my mind. Not jealous! But now having a pity party about having to take care of both of them, haha!
