I know its illegal for employers to inquire about current or future family planning, but I am sure they still wonder if a woman will use maternity leave within the first year or two of hire or exit the workforce entirely. Did you leave your e-ring or wedding band at home as not to draw attention to the fact you are married/child-bearing* is a real possibility during your last interview?

Background: I do not have any RL examples of women in my job function who have had babies and came back to work.
