When you receive a job offer - has it ever been by email and not by phone? DH has been interviewing for first year nursing positions and today he received an offer by email no phone call. The email seems less personable than someone calling but I am wondering if that is just me.

I've never gotten a job offer over the phone. Always in writing. I've worked in local and federal government and multiple non-profits. Always email. Congratulations

I’ve gotten unofficial offers over the phone but the official offer/letter has been in writing.

Like @LadyDi: our unofficial job offers come via the phone and then when we have a verbal acceptance, the official one comes through email. That being said, I have had it happen before that the email comes before the phone call b/c we had an over eager HR employee or two. I agree it's less personal so hopefully it was just a screw up?
