Someone asked me to help them think of ideas recently, what are good jobs for kids in weddings other than the traditional ring bearer/flower girl duties?
We would be talking about early elementary school aged kids and all I could think of was to pass out programs. Other ideas?

They could be junior bridesmaids / grooms kids? Hold the train?

If you are doing sparklers or bubbles or something similar upon your exit, you can have them pass those out.

Hmm. Elementary age could probably do an easy reading (Love is patient, love is kind). They could always escort another family member to their seat (like a grandma or something).
Are you focusing on the ceremony or any job at any point?

This might sound weird, but at our wedding two junior high boys were incredibly proud about guarding one of the guests sleeping baby (in a carseat). The parents of the baby and the kids are good friends and asked them and they took it so so seriously! I think they also took it upon themselves to guard the card box... That might translate to other weddings better.

We had a kid parade with all the kids invited (30 or so?)
Instead of being announced at the reception, my nieces and nephews led a "second line" of kids with kazoos and drums and ribbon wands. It was really fun! Some of the band played music and helped lead too
