I asked DH what he wants our LO to be when she grows up. He said she can do whatever she wants but his secret preference would be a career in healthcare or something in a creative field. The only job he wants her to avoid is a career in stripping! Lol.

Exterminator! I would never ever be able to ask about his day...I would also prefer if he avoids dangerous jobs, like police officer, fire fighter, etc. because I wouldn't be able to sleep at night for worrying.

My mom raised me to aspire to a career that provides financial independence--I didn't need to get married to be able to have a comfortable life and one day I'll be able to retire. I think I want the same for my little girl.
ETA: I guess I never really answered the question! But I'd hope that my LO stays away from anything dangerous, morally questionable or super high risk.

I hope he is smart like his daddy and he can go work for NASA or develop software programs and make lots of money :):) I just want him to be happy and make a decent life for himself and his future family.

I wouldn't want her to do anything that will put her life in danger on a regular basis, such as being a police officer, firefighter, etc...but other than that she I want her to pursue something that will make her happy and pay her well. Of course if that's being a police officer I will just have to deal with it.

I'd be happy to see LO make a good life for themselves doing something they're passionate about--a life where they use their brains, work hard, and are proud of their accomplishments.
That being said, I very much hope they don't go into anything military, or government!

Interesting answers, because I have always felt like fire fighters/policemen/military are the ones to be THE most proud of. They're such selfless careers. I'd be extremely proud if a child of mine chose to serve others in this fashion!

I want my LO to follow her dreams and find something she is passionate about.... even if that means living in my basement until she is 30 years old while she tries to "make it" as an actress! LOL
That being said, she is not allowed to be a bikini barista. No siree.

I would prefer she stay away from politics & anything morally quesitonable (stripper, ect.), otherwise I just want her to find something she loves and is successful at!
