    @MrsMcD: Thanks!!

    Today is O-4 or O-3 I'm not sure since I'm not using my fertility monitor this month. It's our last shot before I leave the rest of the month, and I kind of don't even want to try. No need to get my hopes up over a three-four day before O attempt.

    @MrsMcD: Kayaking was a bust. We didn't realize DH's inflatable kayak wasn't properly inflated- we aren't sure if this was the kayak vs. user error. We are going to try to repump it today to see. I really did enjoy kayaking in the new kayak, and even managed to fit it inside my little sedan. my subaru! As far as the Tesla: we agreed that DH will need a more family friendly car once we have a LO. He really wants an electric car. We test drove a ton, and the two we liked best are the Ford Focus electric and the Tesla. The Ford Focus might be too small and the range is borderline. I don't like the pricetag, but I love that we wouldn't have to buy gas.

    I'm not temping, but I usually O CD15, and today is CD13. So trying to frequently BD, but I haven't decided to do mucinex/conceive plus.

    Just checking in y'all. I've been POASing for days, which is ridiculous because I'm 10 dpo today. All BFN. Feeling pretty discouraged about it.

    I got the results of the ultrasound that I had done for pelvic pain back on Tuesday. There's some adhesions around my appendectomy scar that could (or might not) be influencing the pain and/or might mean my R ovary isn't meaningfully connected to my R tube.

    I'm feeling pretty down about the information, because it is a dead end for now. My Kaiser provider has made very clear to me that since my pain is better controlled now, their protocols don't support/permit any further testing or investigation until we've been trying for a full year.

    So, now I'm pondering how argumentative/persuasive I can be with a very protocol-bound HMO system. I've already been an uncommonly firm and explicit advocate for myself and what kind of care I would like. If I'm not getting anywhere with Kaiser, what do I want to pay for out of pocket elsewhere? How long would I want to wait before considering that?

    @lilyofthewest: can you say you have been trying longer than you have? Is there any documentation to urgent otherwise? Or maybe you can complain of further pain? I'm so sorry that you are going through this! Our insurance system is a sham and its just not right. I hope you get KU naturally before you even have to deal with any of this. Xoxoxo hugs

    @AmeliaBedilia: I am sorry kayaking was a bust! Hopefully it pumps of today. The Teslas are SOOOO nice! I have a Subaru also and I love that I can fit anything in it. I too am debating whether or not I am going to use mucinex this cycle after my last being so dry. I did buy conceive plus and will use that for sure. Happy BDing!

    @lilyofthewest: I am sorry they are not taking further action. That is extremely frustrating! I hope that you can find a way to get around all the silly protocals.

    @lilyofthewest: Ugh, I'm sorry to hear that. When will it be a year for you all? If it's after open enrollment (I only know open enrollment for govt ins so this may or may not even be helpful), could you switch ins in the fall? If that's not helpful, all I can say is ((hugs)). I hope you do get answers soon!

    As I mentioned before, today is O-4 or O-5. We BD using pre-seed, and I *finally* worked up the nerve to use the instead cup! It wasn't that bad I don't think DH has super sperm, but maybe they'll hang out for 4 or 5 days, and penetrate the egg, and implant. Yeah right, but it's worth a try.

    @MrsMccarthy: Well, that office is where my IUD was removed. So, other than pain returning, or saying it is back even if I'm still doing well seems to be the only way to move forward within their system. Thanks for the support though -- having a place to vent makes all the difference.

    @dc yoga bee: Beginning of February is a year. My employer doesn't offer any other insurance options. I am looking at wriggling things around by seeing if there's anything I can independently purchase, or I can see if I qualify to get on sweetie's insurance plan.

    @lilyofthewest: Ah, okay. I remember now, DH's employers have only offered one option. It seems your an awesome advocate for yourself already, and it sucks you have to fight the ins company

    @MrsMccarthy: OMG, I have been away for a few days and only just now catching up - CONGRATS!!! So excited for you! I actually was just about to come say thank you, since I took your suggestion and have been doing a B complex this cycle, and lo and behold, I have a positive OPK on CD 13. Huge improvement over the last two cycles in which my ovulation date was CD 24 both times. Hooray!

    @Lil Bean: Congratulations!

    @HolisticMama: I was just thinking about you the other day, welcome back.

    @PawPrints: thanks honey! I am so glad the B6 helped! I am still taking it because I hear it helps with morning sickness too. I hope you are your rainbow baby at the end of this cycle!!!! I'll be cheering you on.

    Just an update while I have a pity party for one... Back at the in laws for one last night post family vacation before heading home. It was a trying vacation with lots of baby talk and overall uncomfortableness with a new fiancé in the family. Then tonight, at 8DPO, I see brown CM again. I don't even want to hear "OMG it could be implanation" or "you're not out yet" because really I'm just in an I don't care mood. SIL is getting married in September with a 3 month old relationship (as of now) and plans to start TTC right away, if they're even preventing now, so you can guess how I'm feeling... I was having such a relaxed TWW until this past week at home.

    @MrsMcD: I should O Friday, so I'm resting up for our week long BD session.

    I'm thinking BD today, rest tomorrow, then Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Eek, I'm getting tired thinking about it, lol.

    @lilyofthewest: ugh, insurance is the worst. I really hope you can get some clarification on the issue and it song end up being a problem. Can you tell them you've been trying for a year, even if you haven't?

    @MrsMccarthy: how's the spotting? Stopped, I hope!

    @PawPrints: yay! Did you O? How's your timing?

    @dc yoga bee: is it hard to put in? I've been shying away from those, but considering doing it.

    Question- for those that put their legs up after sex, how far up do you put them? Just rest them on a pillow? Against the wall? Knees bent and flat on the bed?

  14. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

    @LindsayInNY: hugs, friend. That's hard to put up with under the best of circumstances, let alone while spotting. Have a big drink.

    @LindsayInNY: I'm so sorry.

    @Crystal: spotting stopped a few days ago and betas came back normal so I am feeling very optimistic! Thank you!

    @Crystal: Luckily it was wine weekend where we went so that helped! I just have a hard time putting on a good face sometimes. MIL commented about having 2 for 1 babies next year with SIL and myself. It should be me though! After 8 years together and 4 married, it should be me and DH. Not SIL and her boyfriend/fiancé since March of this year. I don't know what their rush is with everything...

    @dc yoga bee: You better have tried!! No need to get your hopes "up" but you still need a little hope for this month. Even if you hope is just steady. I hereby command you to BD with your husband!!!!

    @AmeliaBedilia: Sorry about the kayak bust! But I hope you figure it out for next time. At least you know it fits in your car. As for your next car plans..... Ford Focus or Tesla..... gees... that's tough. If you can swing it, do it lady! Those are awesome! In the meantime, your BDing plan sounds awesome! You don't need a fertility monitor to get lucky!

    @Crystal: I want to put a plug out there for possibly considering only every other day BD and trying to hit O date...got my BFP after reducing rather than increasing our BD. everyone is different of course but daily is exhausting and I'm not convinced it is necessary!
    @LindsayInNY: sounds like an annoying time. It is so frustrating to be surrounded about baby talk when TTC.

    @lilyofthewest: So you know 10dpo is too early to take a bfn seriously, right? As for your medical/insurance issues, that sucks! I'm not a fan of kaiser, having had it for one year recently. Have you just been trying since February? The "one year before fertility testing" issue is normal for hmo's and i'm sure for kaiser. But it seems like your issue is less "fertility" and more just general medical, especially if you are in pain. But I don't know how much you can challenge the system, especially within Kaiser where the doctors themselves essentially are the system. So how old are you? I'd maybe just try for a year if you feel you have time to do so before considering paying out of pocket for stuff. Or, if paying out of pocket isn't an issue and you can't wait anymore, then go to an RE.

    ETA: I actually think that Kaiser insurance is really good about covering fertility issues. I've actually loosely thought about switching to Kaiser should I get to the point where I need to consider IVF and whatnot. So if you just need to wait a year before you get to that point of coverage, then its not too bad.

    grapefruit / 4770 posts

    @LindsayInNY: Geez, what I'm really thinking- and it isn't nice at all, but I think you're well within line to tell them to shut it!!! Okay, you probably couldn't really say that, but dang they need to cool it! ((hugs))

    @Crystal: Hiii twinsie again!! I should ovulate Thursday or Friday. We BD today, and will hit tomorrow and then oh well! It was *slightly* painful going in, but I think I wasn't squeezing the ends together well enough as it was kind of slippery But erm anyways, I can't even feel it! And when I went to the bathroom, I experienced zero leakage. I've had it in for about four hours so far, and again I can't even feel it.

    @sapphire: I'm in the mood for less BD this time. I also don't have a choice since I leave at 9am for out of town training the rest of the month But in all seriousness, I feel it's a crapshoot sometimes.

    @MrsMcD: I haven't lost "all" hope. I think it's too early for that. My friend has been trying for *17* years, and is still completely full of hope, and trusting in God. She is a warrior. She doesn't know we are trying, but I'm sure she would tell me to go sit down someplace if she ever found out and heard me complaining at 8-9 months!

    Y'all. The ONE month I decide not to use any opks, fertility monitor, cm monitoring nada- something weird is going on. It's cd 13, and I am having intense, and I do mean intense ovulation pains on my left side. I usually ovulate cd 17 or 18. I don't have any fertile cm though. I wonder if acupuncture is moving things up and not an anovulatory cycyle.

    @dc yoga bee: I saw that you did, in fact, BD today! Get it, lady!! And whenever I start to wonder if my Dh's sperm isn't super sperm, I always also consider the possibility that my eggs are rock hard and inpenetrable. Its possible!

    @LindsayInNY: So sorry, lady. The brown spotting just plain sucks. I, too, hate the "rah rah" support sometimes. (Sorry I texted you "rah rah" support earlier today. Oop!) New fiances suck. Visting inlaws often sucks. But still... trying to just keep a little hope. Or at least don't slip into negative town. Let's meet up half way and grab a drink tonight, eh?

    @Crystal: Oh that is an aggressive BDing plan! I am really trying to just to SMEP this month. I'd skip wednesday if you start to get too tired. <----- as if you want my advice.

    As for legs up after sex... ugh... I'm totally against it. But I've done it the last few times. I put a pillow under me. But I have DH scoot it under me if its not already there for whatever reason. If I move too much, stuff comes out... gross... sorry. TMI. Wall me privately if you want me to get more descriptive.

    @MrsMcD: Thanks for the chin up. I'm on cycle 6 with at least 2 instances of well-timed intercourse in each of those cycles.

    I know 10dpo is a bit early to take seriously, but, my luteal phases have been pretty short, so, it's hard not to get down about it when most of my luteal phases have been 10 or 11 days.

    My last LP did lengthen up (started acupuncture, vitex, and a b-complex). It was either 12 or 13 days depending on how you draw the cutoff between spotting and full flow.

    I'm 32, so, I'm not young, but, I'm not rapidly running out of time either. I feel a little bit of time pressure because I'd like to have more than one kid, and I'd previously hoped to have them spaced out by a few years.

    I think I can be patient so long as the pain does stay away or decently controlled. Last cycle went well, but, I'm holding my breath worrying about if this one will be okay too. FX!

  29. sapphire

    nectarine / 2173 posts

    @LindsayInNY: oh that's just not right!! How offensive!

    @MrsMcD: for me, I found I usually o'ed two days after the pos OPK so I'd probably BD today and then Tuesday. If you think you might O tomorrow, then I'd wait til tomorrow. But who knows, only takes one sperm and you can never predict which time it will happen! I do think hitting O is the most important thing and I'm not convinced BDing all the other days increases your chances that much.

    @dc yoga bee: Oh gees.. I don't know if its too late. I don't know how ovulation cramps work! Let's just hope its ovulation and your BDing is right on point!

    @LindsayInNY: You are funny. I'll always give you the deets!

    @lilyofthewest: I'm 31.5 so I feel you on the awkwardness of the age. I'd still maybe just wait the six months. Unless you can switch insurance before then. Even still... look into Kaiser's feritlity coverage in the meantime. What state are you in?

  31. deactivated_account

    @MrsMcD: Thanks for the ear and encouragement not to catastrophize. I'm in MD. At least under my employer's plan, fertility coverage is so-so. Diagnostic testing is covered, interventions (unless they can be passed of as also treating some non-fertility health concern) mostly have a 50% coinsurance. Not as great as some plans, but, I know that it is 100% OOP for many, many people.

    I caved and tested early BFN. I had the IUI 2 weeks ago tomorrow and I think I ovulated on Tuesday. I may have had the IUI too early. Not sure. I used a Target (up & up) brand, anyone ever used those? I guess technically since I am not suppose to start until Tuesday I am about 2-3 days early, but I am not very optimistic at this point. I guess there is a small possibility that implantation didn't happen until 7-9 days in which case I would still be early? I don't know. I just know that next month is going to be a lot more extensive at the RE. So.... I have that to look forward to!

    Today is/was my testing day (we're a day ahead of the US) but I didn't test oops. Think I'll test tomorrow morning. (which will be 14 dpo) Not feeling very optimistic but so far my face hasn't had an acne breakout like it usually does before AF and my boobs kinda hurt. Really just trying not to get my hopes up since I'm pretty sure I'll just burst into tears if I see another negative since this is month 12.

    Good luck to the other 14 July testers!

    @Crystal: I got my first positive OPK this evening, so I'll probably ovulate Tuesday (based on precedent). Assuming we hit our plan, that will put us at O, O-1, and O-2. (But if I ovulate tomorrow, then we'll only have O and O-1. The consequence of early ovulation sneaking up on you!) I'm feeling pretty good about this cycle. It's a huge mood boost to know I won't have to go through two marathon weeks of waiting to ovulate.

    To your other question about raising legs. I had been pretty skeptical about this so I've googled it several times, and what I keep seeing is that it doesn't make any difference to raise your legs up. What makes the difference is just lying there for at least 15 minutes flat on your back, preferably with your hips at least up on a pillow. Your legs can be resting on the bed in a normal comfortable position.
