@MrsMcD: I found the recipe here:
    http://www.hellobee.com/2013/01/17/recipe-good-for-you-chocolate-cake/

With my time off, I have been cooking much more. I did a huge grocery trip this afternoon. Tonight I made the cheesy roasted red pepper dish I found recently on this site (fine, not amazing) and a gluten free blueberry cobbler for dessert (DH is GF, and blueberries were 3 for $4). Later this week I will try Mrs. Blue's "pork tenderloin so good it will make you cry" and either the chocolate cake or rice krispie treats (we have way too many rice krispies here and a few events this weekend where we need to bring something).

@KelLeeLeee: Welcome! I also started charting months before trying, so surely knowing exactly when I O would make this quick, right? Yet still here. to both of us!

@KelLeeLeee: Hi lady! Welcome here!! Sorry you are here, but I'm betting your time here may be short. Booze it up and have fun BDing! I've added you to the POAS/AF list. Feel free to amend it yourself any time you want.

@fotolori1: Your attitude is amazing! I'm so excited for this upcoming cycle of yours. I believe it could be the one for you! Hey!! How come you weren't on the POAS list? I've added you as a TBD. Do you have an AF/POAS date yet?

@AmeliaBedilia: Thanks for the recipe. It sounds like you are up to sooo much good. Have you heard anything re: the job news you've been talking about?

Good mornin' girls! Just checking in with my daily ramble... so since we are clearly obsessed with this whole ttc thing, I'm already WAY over analyzing this first clomid cycle. I'm definitely having some harsher O pains and my CB digital opk is still stuck on so I couldn't retest this a.m. But it's weird because I normally don't O til cd 15 or 16. (Today is cd 13). Looks like I'm 2-3 days early this month.

This week at work, DH is doing a ton of manual labor (the life of a general manager.... building a website one day, unloading truck loads of steel another day). So I'm trying not to be too annoying but I may or may not have sent him a text telling him not to let his junk get too hot. Lol! (Sorry girls, I know it's too early in the day for that talk!) Plus he's super tired at night. I need those swimmers in tip top condition!! *sigh.

Note to self: It's all in God's control. What's meant to be will be.

@MrsMcD: Still waiting. It will probably come in parts, and I have no idea when. I have been feeling anxious, but trying to remind myself that I can't do anything to change it right now, and to trust God. Thanks for remembering!

@KelLeeLeee: Meijer, a grocery/everything chain in the midwest. Kind of like Walmart, but a much more respectable company. Since going to Africa last year, I am so much more appreciative of berries. The Americans I met living overseas were a little obsessed with berries since they can't get them (or are insanely expensive) over there.

I cheated on my thermometer. I was totally not taking my temp at all this month, and while lying in bed this morning (the day after expected O), I thought that if things get wonky later, it would be nice to have that info. My temp was 98.40, so I probably already ovulated. Assuming O was yesterday (as it usually is), we hit 0-3, 0-2, 0-1, and O. I have heard that acupuncture is best either at the end of AF (did that), O (didn't), and around implantation. My acupuncture appointment is not til 9DPO. I emailed her, and she is going out of town. She can work me in at 8DPO, and if anyone cancels, 7DPO. I am terrible at this whole NTNP. I think part of it is I really want it to be this cycle because the work trip that is a huge deal (I have been trying for 3 years to get selected and finally did) makes things challenging. If I get a BFP and deliver on due date, I would be 3 weeks PP- suboptimal but doable. If next month (when I will be out of town most of fertile window), I would be 40 weeks, and the following cycle, 36 weeks. I want an April baby!

@organicmama: Hi lady! I love hearing about your clomid experience. I just got it prescribed for myself yesterday!!! I'm nervously excited to be joining the club. CD 13 is totally a normal day for O, so even if you are early, you are still at a good spot. How exciting!!

I just read an article about how cervical stenosis can contribute to c-sections. Now I am worried that I have cervical stenosis from my IUDs- that my cervix has scarred so badly that no sperm can get through. Please tell me this is crazy (bluntness is fine- I would be relieved at "That's the dumbest thing I have ever heard.") Thank you.

@MrsMcD: Right here. After a morning of total laziness, I finally went running and made pizza. While the pizza was cooking, I decluttered. DH won't be home til late, so I will probably alternate between cleaning/decluttering and relaxing.

What are your favorite things about where you live? I love that for a modest-sized city, we have tons of restaurants, fabulous grocery stores, a wonderful library system, and at the moment, that we aren't too far from ikea. I need more drawer dividers, and they keep not having them, but a trip isn't that far.

@MrsMcD: thanks for checking in AF has arrived, along with her crampy backachey minions. Feeling less bummed today than yesterday or Monday: fresh cycle, fresh start.

In good news, my upcoming fertile week will be while I'm on vacation. Woohoo! If I end up with a kid named Wyoming, you'll all know why. New POAS day should be August 10th.

@lilyofthewest: Oh my gosh! Vacation during fertile week!!! That's awesome and seems to do the trick for a lot of girls. And Wyoming is amazing. Will you be hitting up Cody by any chance? I went once and loved it so much!! Sorry about AF showing, but you are right: fresh start!!

@AmeliaBedilia: I live pretty close to Ikea too, love it! I also love that I'm a fairly short drive away from both Boston and NYC!

@lilyofthewest: Vacation baby!!! We were in Colorado in March and almost made it up to Wyoming, but the weather was too bad! Let me know how it is!

Are cramps during AF normal for everyone here? I've always had cramps, but lately they've been really bad where pain relievers don't even help!

I had a follow up with my gyno last night. I got a prescription for clomid! I don't know why I feel so excited about that. But I talked to my mom about it excitedly all night. DH is excited, too. I'm really hoping it works because thinking about the next steps after that is daunting.

Who in here is thinking about or moving on to next steps in this TTC?

  28. AmeliaBedilia

    nectarine / 2192 posts

@MrsMcD: I'm excited for you! I don't know what our plan is. DH thinks that if I'm not KU by Christmas that we should do an HSG. I have been opposed to clomid due to risk of twins and that I am already ovulating. I recently did some reading on a really good RE site: http://www.soft-infertility.com/info.php?catID=6
It had some good information about femara, and pointed out that ovulation induction could still help when someone is already ovulating. I am also just starting acupuncture again but I think this person is better. So to summarize our options:
    1. continue TTC the way we have been but less stress and add acupuncture
    2. HSG
    3. femara

DH thinks the issue is stress (I have been under a TON of it with work, living apart from DH due to jobs/moving back in). I so hope the issue was that my spleen meridian (one of the big fertility 3) was off and that is now fixed.

  29. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@MrsMcD: I'm giving my body until August to do its own thing. If I'm not KU by then, I'll be discussing next steps with my obgyn. The practice is NaPro, so I know clomid will be first (and I know they're more conservative with it, dosing wise, than a traditional RE) but I honestly have no idea what they would try if that doesn't work

    GOLD / pomegranate / 3938 posts

@AmeliaBedilia: That's a good plan!! I would have waited for a year or more if I wasn't getting nervous about my age and my wanting to have two or more kids. I think the "less stress plus acupuncture" approach may do the trick for you! Acupuncture is too pricey for me to stomach at this point, and all the places I would consider going are so out of my way. But its on my list of things to try! Clearly less pricey than the other options!

@MaryM: So you've got about a month! Hopefully you don't need to get to those other plans. Can you explain to me what a NaPro is? I've seen that term thrown around, but I can't figure out how they differ from M.D.s or D.O.s.

@Marfi: woo hoo! you are back!! It sucks you are still in limbo but I really hope the doctor appointment tomorrow gives you some info and hope. I've never loved going to the doctor's more than while I've been TTC. Report back, please!

@MrsMcD: they are MDs, but they focus on figuring out the causes of infertility and doing things as naturally as possible. Its a catholic practice, so they are only so many interventions they provide

Jokingly brought up Wyoming as a name if I get a sticky from our vacation. Sweetie seems to really like it, maybe I'll get a kiddo named Wyoming for real.

TSA is definitely going to get a kick out of my bag.... Conceive Plus, cheapie OPKs, CBE Advanced, instead cups. I think it will be clear that we are on a mission.

Sweetie saw the urologist today to get the lab order for semen analysis. So, that goes ahead this week. I'm not sure if I'm hoping for good numbers or bad numbers. If good, that offers no answers for why things aren't working. If bad, well, bad. But, at least it would make sense.

@LindsayInNY: thanks for the spotting feedback! (belatedly) I am going to count the full day as CD1 for now and see how long things go and then change it if needed. spotting really sucks--i am sorry that is your normal every month. it just felt like such a tease--like, could we get on with this already and get to the next month?

@MrsMcD: yay for clomid! i think it is exciting to be moving forward, even if you are not quite sure where it will lead. Hoping your BFP is right around the corner for you!

As for me, I have been busy with work and doing a lot of solo parenting these last few weeks. DH has a crazy schedule. My parents were visiting this weekend, but was nice, but they are really indulgent with LO so I have had to be "mean mommy" to get her back into shape since they left.

As far as TTC, I am charting again and my type-a side enjoys that. I did the free circle+bloom meditation last night and it was very calming. i want to do it daily just to decompress. if anyone else tries it (I just did the free one) just skip the first 5 minutes of them telling you why you should pay for stuff and then it is a nice guided relaxation exercise.

I have been planning to call the OB since Monday but have not gotten to it yet. I think someone asked my goal. I need my annual done so I will go in and talk to her about the fact that I am still not KU and start talking about timelines and choices. I went off BCP last July so here we are. I am not sure what I am ready for but I want to have her involved in the conversation. I just have to remember to call tomorrow!

And can you put my POAS date for Aug 14? Thanks!

@lilyofthewest: If nothing else, Wyoming is a great nickname for while you decide on a name--we called LO "peanut butter and jelly"!

Hey everyone...I feel like I haven't posted in a while! I think I've been feeling a bit blahs lately and idk if it's ttc related or not...prob is. I had to cancel my RE appt because we learned that our health insurance is pretty crappy at the moment and are going to have to switch plans with either my job or DH's! So I'm sure the RE would be a big hit and well, that really sucks! But I do see my obgyn in a few weeks for my annual and with all the testing a couple months ago was with another MD in the same practice. So maybe MY MD will have something else to offer. Maybe it's meant to be that I'm not KU yet as we can switch insurance plans in October... I've been trying to keep up with NTNP mindset. I have not temped or use OPK's at all. It does help with stress! I've been trying to exercise more and eat healthy (sometimes it's just so dang hard!) Today is CD 15 and I typically O around CD 16-18 so I know it's soon! We've been BD'ing casually EOD and I def can tell DH is less stressed!! That helps me feel less stressed! I've been feeling some nausea at bedtime...does anyone else get that around O? This has by far been the slowest moving month for me. Idk why. I have just about made it to the TWW and how will I get through it??? Sorry for the rant... Hope everyone is doing ok!

@nicole112: I love the rant. And I COMPLETELY agree that this has been the slowest month ever. And I'm not in my tww yet either! I. Cant. Imagine. I've had nausea around O before. Gotta love those hormones!

@mrsmcd: ok a heads up... the only really noticeable side effects of clomid I've experienced (besides being slightly more emotional the days I took it) is the freaking ovary soreness! I can literally feel my ovaries hurting. Now, I'm no sissy but it's really sore! A few times I've been walking or turning a certain way and it kills. So of course in my over analytical mind I envision like 18 follicles ready to wreak havoc on my poor little uterus. Will y'all still be my friend if I turn out like Octomom???
