I always thought a Junior had the same first middle and last name as their father. I've had probably 6-8 people ask me if my Junior will have a different middle name.
Have you ever heard of someone being a Junior without having the same full name as their father?

Yeah, my grandfather didn't have a middle name, and my uncle does. They share the same first name, though. I don't think there's an official Jr. with his name, though. My cousin, my uncle's oldest son, is a jr. to my uncle, though, cause I think they match exactly. I'm still not sure if he's got an official Jr. by his name, either, though.

I agree with you, thought a Jr. was only if it was the exact same name.

My DH has the same first name as his dad, but his middle name is different, so he's not a Jr.

Yeah if the names aren't exactly the same the child wouldn't be a true junior.

Yep! My dad was a jr but had his own middle name (his moms dads name)

Mine is!! Both Wagons Sr. and Jr.'s middle names are their Korean names, so they don't share a middle name or a middle initial. But we still added the Jr. suffix on his birth certificate with no issues.

You can still call him Junior, but a true junior has same first and middle name as father.

My uncle and cousin both have the same first and last name, but middle is different. i don't think they put Jr. at the end though of my cousins, but everyone called them frank jr./frank sr. anyways.

Our Junior is going to have thd same first and middle (and last of course lol) names. DH actually has the same first name as his dad but different middle name so he isn't a Junior and really wants a Junior because of it.

DH is a III and he & his dad do not share all the same names (in their culture it is typical to have many names, DH has 5). if we when a son, they will share DH's first & last name and be a IV, but go by a second first name that will be their own. i think it depends on the culture, but in the US i think jrs usually have the same full name.

Nope - my husband has the same first name as his dad but a different middle name. He's not a junior.

Never heard of a Junior without the same first middle or last name as his dad. if you change part of the name, why keep the Jr? hmm

I agree, not a true jr unless the name is exactly the same. DH, FIL and GFIL all have the same first name but different middle names, no jr or III.

I think "seconds" and so on have the same middle but not juniors necessarily.
