Keurig and Kcups

DH surprised me last week by coming home with a Keurig and some new pots and pans! It was so exciting!

I'm obsessed with my Keurig now! It's never worth it for me to make a full pot of coffee. I love being able to make it by the cup. I tried the Celestial Sleepy Time tea last night and can't wait to buy some more!!!!

I'm curious though. Do you use a Kcup more than once?
The Keurig website, of course, says they are meant for one-time use but I think they could be used twice if you wanted.

What's your favorite Kcup?!?

Congrats! I use my Keurig every morning. I think you could probably use the k-cups twice in a row (for two cups) if you wanted to, but I guess it would depend on how strong you like your coffee. My favorite K-cup is this kind http://www.amazon.com/Coffee-People-Medium-24-Count-Brewers/dp/B006N3HZL0

I never used to use them more than once but was getting tired of wasting two cups for our larger travel mugs, or just not having a full mug of coffee. So now I'll brew once on the large setting and once on the small or medium and I find it tastes the same (I drink my coffee black though... so I dunno if you'd notice a more watered down taste if you add in cream/sugar).

We really like the Donut House or Coffee People cups, but mostly use the reusable filter with our own coffees.

P.S. I'm jealous that your husband brought you home a Keurig and pots and pans!! I've been dying for some new pans.

I was always a fan of my grind n brew coffee maker until it kept breaking on me. Then I switched over to a Keurig and I LOVE it, SO freakin' easy! And THANK YOU for the suggestion of using the kcups twice! I'm going to have to give that a try...

@Rachel: I had one of those from the sample pack and thought it was really good!

@LAGS: It was really exciting! We had some things come up around my birthday (at the end of March) and I told him I didn't want anything. These were my belated birthday presents! I wish the reusable filter was part of the Keurig package. I'll have to get one of those too!

@sweetchic: no problem! I haven't tried it with any of the coffees yet but I did try it with the tea last night and it was still just as good.

@Sweet T: I already had my 2 cups today (using 2 separate Kcups), so I'm definitely going to try re-using tomorrow!

I don't use them multiple times. We have the part that allows us to use regular coffee so I grind my Starbucks. : ) I love it! Its great for heating water for cocoa too!

I don't reuse either - I have a little filter. I love it for cocoa, like @his barista said! I haven't drank much coffee this pregnancy except for frozen coffee.

I only drink one cup per day, so I don't reuse the K-cups.

I only use the cups once, but I usually only have one cup a day.

I use my Keurig much more often to make tea. I'll just run it without a k-cup in over a teabag in a cup. Love it.

@Sweet T: I have tried using a cup twice and it doesn't work... the drink turns out super watery!

I use Tully's Coffee (dark roast) cups...they're my fave!

By the way, I heard the patent is up on the K-Cups in a couple months, which means lots of more companies will be able to start making them so they won't be as expensive as they are now. Excited for that!

I loved my Keurig in the beginning! We only used our cups once each.
We stopped using ours and it was collecting dust so we returned it! Costco has an awesome return policy. Haha.

I've had the same Keurig for the past 4 years, so I've def got use outa mine. For Kcups- my fave is the donut house kcups, but we recently bought some reusable cups so we can have our starbucks and dunkin coffee cheaper!

@chopsuey119: Obviously, that's an awesome return policy! I've never lived anywhere with a Costco and feel like I'm missing out!

I LOVE my Keurig!! We use it every morning, but have never reused a cup.

My favorites include Donut Shop and Timothy's Cinnamon Pastry.

@Sweet T: Oh - one thing I thought of - since the k-cups get poked in the top and bottom, you might want to take it out (cover the holes) and shake it around before you reuse it - I think that the water goes straight through and there's probably some unused grounds on the sides.

@artbee: yummmmm! I love when Starbucks has the pumpkin spice lattes over the holidays. I know you can get them year round but they're never as good during the other seasons!

I totally love my Keurig! funny story... I kept insisting that I needed one, especially as a SAHM, but Wagon Sr. kept hesitating. Then I went away for a weekend and he was alone with Wagon Jr., and when I came back, ta-da! There was a brand new Keurig in our kitchen. Haha. I like to say that he finally understood the need!!

My favorite coffee is Donut Shop. I'm not big into tea but I do love the Chai Latte k-cup and the hot apple cider!!

I've never re-used K cups but it's an interesting thought...

We also have the "my k-cup" so we can brew our own ground coffee or loose leaf tea. Wagon Sr. likes to use that for his strong black coffee.

I love my Keurig! Mr. Stroller bought it for me for Christmas this year because I have about two minutes in the morning before baby Stroller needs to eat, NOW! I use each k-cup twice, but in the same mug of coffee. So I'll brew 10oz into a big travel mug, open the lid and brew another 10oz. If the second brew is weaker, I don't notice because it's mixing with the first, stronger brew.

@Mrs. Wagon: Donut Shop is my favorite too!
