my parents installed a toto bidet in their main bathroom upstairs. It makes noise when you pass by (because unfortunately, the toilet is the first thing when you go in the bathroom, even if you only want to wash your hands).
Just the spraying noise, the lights ...are enough to scare away my kids (7 and almost 5). They don't ask. They just use the toilet. Unless you want your kids to use the bidet, I would not even elaborate...

Oh yeah my kid has no interest. We’ve had one since he was a baby and during potty training I just made sure he knew touching it meant cold water spraying everywhere. He’s 5 and still leaves it alone.
