We took off all of the child locks on the cabinets last night - they are a pain in the butt to me and the kids (almost 5 and 7) could open them anyway so we took them off and they both know about "Mr. Yuck"
Wow - made me definitely feel like my kids kinda grew over night!
Have you made any changes lately that are making you think about how fast they grow?
No more diapers?
No more cribs?
No more strollers?

T will turn 2 exactly one month from today. He's getting a big boy bed for his birthday and we're also about to start introducing the potty. I'm looking forward to being diaper free and converting his room into a big boy room instead of a nursery...but I'm so sad!
How can you be so excited to have a big boy and miss your baby at the same time?

@Mamaof2: @artsyfartsy: she just turned 3, but we have full-day junior kindergarten that starts the year she turns 4. She's a December baby, so she starts on the early side.

This is kind of gross, but I was waiting for my DS to finish his business on the toilet the other day so I could give him a "special wipe" and come to find out my DD had already taken care of it

@Mamaof2: who's Mr Yuck? We had them off for a while until baby 2 got mobile. Now they're back on.

@Mamaof2: Yeah.. she did it... I was kind of horrified and impressed at the same time that she would take that upon herself to do it for him. My DS is still working on doing a good job on that... yuck.

My son is almost 2. He is pretty verbal for his age, and he knows a lot of songs. I usually sing a particular song when I am rocking him to sleep -- it's the song "Feed the Birds" from Mary Poppins -- and have never heard him sing it. Last night he busted out and sang two full verses and didn't miss a single word. I guess he is paying attention, even when he's falling asleep!
We are on the cusp of potty training, too.

@Mamaof2: Mr Yuck! I met the doc who designed those before he died. He was the sweetest old man who always kept some of those stickers in his breast pocket 
Also my mom had them on everything when we were kids too.

@Mamaof2: Yeah he was at a grand rounds I went to as a medical student and ended up sitting by him! I guess he was local and liked to go to grand rounds and such to keep his mind active. Random things.

Not at the minute, I am in complete denial and still call my 2 year old 'the baby'. But seeing a pair of his trousers on the line next to a newborn sleeper today made him seem pretty big!

My 5 month old has been sleeping in her crib, in her own room, for 2 weeks now. I'm happy the transition went so smoothly, and it was time. But I miss having her right next to me and she seems so grown up sleeping in her own room.
