If you've seen the most recent episode of The Kardashians, Kim gives birth 5 weeks early and she says that delivery "was the easiest thing ever" and "she didn't feel a thing." Am I the only one to find that hard to believe?! Obviously she had to be induced so is it really possible to be that early, induced and have a easy birth? She had an epidural but i still can't believe you can be that early and have " the easiest thing ever." What do you think?!

I can believe it. I gave birth 4 weeks early (not induced though) and my labor was "the easiest thing ever". I just think every womans experience is different.

I think that compared to her pregnancy {which she openly proclaimed as awful} it was a breeze.

Well, I imagine if she got an epidural early on and had a normally progressing L&D with no complications it could be really easy.

hehe... well 6 weeks ago i would say HECK NO! but i just had LO#2 and although i'd never describe any kind of labour and childbirth as 'easy', it was about as smooth as humanly possible. I'm so thankful. the entire labour and birth lasted 3 hours, i got an epi after 2.5 hours (it still hurt like crazzzzyyy before the epi, but atleast it was only a short time...), and pushed for 5 minutes.
the only reason i didn't give birth in a car or at home was that i was already checked in to the hospital and IV'ed up to get induced (never did get induced) when labour began.
i really need to type out my birth story to share on hellobee!
needless to say it was a much better experience than with LO#1!

My labor was awesome and after I got my Epi I had zero pain, so it is possible!

Mine was, honestly. My son was 7lb 8oz and I had an epi early on.
If her baby was like 5 lbs (35 weeks) and she has an epi: I think it's very possible.
I do think it is in bad taste to say it though
but whatever. I'm never surprised.

I got no epi and had an induction. Labor was a breeze compared to pregnancy. Though I wouldn't call it easy. I had a miserable pregnancy!

I'd say it depended how long she had to push for. Pushing was the only part that I found really tough, so I'd say if she got the epi early on and delivery was quick, then it would be fine. Maybe not easy, but ok.

Her babe was only 4.5lbs so that probably helped with minimal pain and tearing.
But she's probably going to make a lot of people jealous with that statement. Lol

I gave birth at 40w3d, no meds, and had a relatively short labor (15 hours) and I would say it was easy. Painful, no doubt about it, but easy.

I was induced, but I was two weeks late. Contractions were no joke, right on top of each other, and intense as hell. Kim must have gotten an epi immediately.
I will say that once I got my epidural and started pushing, it was pretty easy.

@illumina: Agree! I had an epi and didn't feel a thing. But I wouldn't say pushing was easy by any means. My LO weighed a lot more than hers, though.

Compared to late pregnancy and postpartum recovery birth was a breeze.
I also had pre-e, was induced, DS was posterior & needed to be turned (which is when I got the epi - before that I had back labor, never had any abdominal contractions I could feel), and I had a giant episiotomy. But the actual pushing was like a hard day at the gym. -
I was induced and had a 5 lb baby with an epidural and I thought it was easy too! I was having such an easy time that I sent my husband to go get breakfast thinking it would be awhile for anything to start happening, and then 15 minutes later had to call him to come back because I was ready to push!

urgh compared to having to date Kanye, i imagine birth would be pretty easy for her. can you imagine Kanye in the delivery room?

I had a 14 hour labor with epidural. The contractions before the epi were tough and when it wore off a bit. The epi made it easier, but still wasn't a breeze or super easy.

The way Khloe described Kim's pushingbduring labor to Bruce I don't think Kim was exaggerating about the easy birth. So what if she says it. That was her experience.

@jh524: I wouldn't wish for a 4.5 lbs baby. It may have been an easy labor but having a premature baby is no ones wish, regardless how easy the labor was. My labor was easy because LO was only 4.5 lbs but I would have given anything for a full term baby.

I had an acquaintance who went in for her regular check up, found out she was having contractions, was already dilating so went to the hospital. She knew she wanted an epidural so they gave it to her and literally didn't feel one contraction the entire time. I guess its possible but I think its somewhat arrogant to say it was easy. Maybe its because I went through the pain of 8 cm dilated!

@Lindsay05: my friend went into labor 6 weeks early and was in total denial that she was actually in labor, she had an easy unintentional unmedicated birth (she fully wanted an epi, even had anesthesia for getting her navel pierced, lol). but she did have a preemie, 4.5 lbs, and the NICU experience was really, really hard on her.

She is an obnoxious waste of oxygen, seriously. I didn't watch the show - there is no torture that could be inflicted upon me that would be worse than having to watch that - but I did read about this in the news. Apparently she also checked out her nether regions a few days after birth, as she is planning to do a nude playboy spread (way to have ambitions Kim, shoot for the stars!), and said her vagina looked 'better than ever!' First of all, who says that?!? Second of all, whose vajayjay looks better than ever a few days after pushing a baby out?!? I don't create how small your baby was, it's still going to be all swollen, bloody, and stretched out looking! And third, these comments are all just for attention, stupid attention whore that she is. Ugh.
And now I'm exceedingly disappointed I just wasted three minutes of my life writing a post about her.
Oh and fwiw, I'm glad she had a positive birth experience, I would wish that on every mother, but to gloat about it afterwards, come on now. Get over yourself.

I don't keep up with the Kardashians because I don't have cable, but I did see the episode a couple years ago when Kourtney gave birth to Mason. She made it look easy. It was amazing. She pulled him right out! Maybe the Kardashians have easy birthing genes! Lucky!

Labor is easy for some, others it's not. Not that I put much credit in anything that comes from any of the Kardashians' mouths.

I haven't seen the show, but knowing her, they probably gave her an epi pretty early on. And after the epi, I'd agree, the birth was pretty easy (compared to before!)

I actually love the Kardashians. I can't help it! But, Kim is incredibly dramatic. Everything she says should be taken with quite a few grains of salt.

I can believe it. I have had two LO, was induced both times and received an epi early both times so I would say that my labors and deliveries were easy.

Yeah I can believe it.
My last one was induced 3 weeks early and I only labored for 4hrs before she was born. I got an epi pretty early on and delivered her in I think 3 pushes (so fast that they couldn't even open the bed up for delivery like with the foot holders and stuff).
I was sitting there eating Arby's within an hour of delivery and showered and walking the ward within two. So. yep. was pretty easy.And she wasn't small 7lbs 13oz.
needless to say it was a much better experience than with LO#1!
but whatever. I'm never surprised.
I can't imagine only 4.5 lbs....I sure hope I would've been able to push that out , geez! Tiny lil baby!!!
