Do you have a king or queen bed? Reasoning? Pros / Cons?
I'm thinking about that being our "grown-up" purchase for the year! The main con is we would need all new bedding.

I love our king bed! Enough room for the dogs and kids to join for a cuddle session

King because I don't like to be touched when sleeping - weird I know
Also its nice when we have had a little visitor in the night there was plenty of room!

Queen feels like we're both 300lb people in a single bed. We have a king. It is the greatest thing ever.

We have a queen, but only because a king wouldn't fit in our room
I'd be all over buying new bedding if it meant I could have more room to sleep!

We had a full size for our entire relationship up until three months ago. And we are not small people. Queen was a huge upgrade.

Omg King is life changing! Unless you are cramped for space I highly recommend it

We just bought our king as our xmas gift. It's amazing!! So glad we finally made the switch. It's just so much more roomy and we are both sleeping better b/c we aren't waking each other up when we move or roll over. Plus there's more room for early morning wake ups with LO and room for some of her toys. All around I vote king bed for the win!

We have a California King and love it between the dog and the toddler we end up on the outside edge by morning anyway

@mediagirl: Hahaha, seriously!!
We finally upgraded to a King, and it's so amazing. In a Queen it felt like we couldn't sleep without hitting each other in our sleep. In a King now, sometimes I can't even reach him! Some people might not like it, I love it
It's also perfect for when we bring L into bed in the morning to get an extra 10 minutes of 'sleeping' (no actual sleeping with a 2 yo in bed!)

We used to have a queen and I miss it. We have a king now and DH is too far away. It's nice when DD comes to snuggle but I think it's too big.

Queen and it is a tight fit for me, hubs, 65lb dog, and sometimes baby. Hubs usually takes half which leave the other half for me and my cuddly critters
What i wouldn't give to get a king..... but sadly that wont fit in our current house

We have a queen now but want a king when we move. Our current bedroom was just too small for a king to fit comfortably. I don't mind the queen that much, but a king would be nicer.

Oh yeah, there is the space issue. If we ever move from our current house, we need to find a house with a big master bedroom just to fit in our bed!!

We have a queen but I wish we had a king! But, alas, no room in our bedroom. Someday!

@mediagirl: Oh good point! If we ever moved we would have to take into consideration master bedroom size moving forward. Although I'm not sure if after having such a big room now that we could go back.
@swurlygurl: The "not being able to touch" thing is my issue. I'm a cuddler, haha!
@Chillybear: Dog is our issue too! She sleeps on my side at the end of my feet. My husband kicked her off the bed last night because she had stretched out onto his side and I woke-up to her whining and giving me the sad eyes in the middle of the night.

We have a queen, and we are totally comfortable in it. I can't see us switching to a king bed. When we sleep in king beds in hotels, I feel like there is an ocean between us. i think i sleep better nestled into DH. And we don't co-sleep at all, but even when DD comes in for morning snuggles there is plenty of room.

We upgraded to a king soon after we got married and it was our best decision, we will never go back to smaller!
honeydew / 7091 posts
@LBee: Yeah, you might not like it then. We used to cuddle by default, because we just couldn't get away from each other. Now we *never* do. I don't mind because I never really liked it

We built our king bed. Yes, it takes up our whole room but I love it so much! The dog sleeps with us at night, so the extra space really makes a difference!

we have a queen because we have only ever lived in apartments. Only one rental we lived in would have even fit a king. One day we'll get a king! I like a lot of space and I don't like cuddling while I sleep lol

We have a King and I love it! Although, since LO still sleeps with us and prefers to share (read: hog) my pillow and sleep thisclose to me all night long, I might as well be sleeping in a twin bed for all the space I get!

We have a queen because the master is not big enough for a king. If we ever move a master fit for a king will be on our list. Both my husband I like to stretch out in the bed or put our knees up and sometimes we run into each other. I can't imagine co-sleeping in this bed.
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
@LBee: hahaha. Our dog does the same exact thing in the middle of the night. Sad eyes, whining, scratching at the bed. Helpless dog act.
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@yoursilverlining: same!
Love our king size bed! Even though I'm on the edge with DS' cuddles.

King. Room to roll over without wacking the other person, plus the mattress doesn't transmit as much of the movement from one end to the other. And you can still cuddle - just move over.

My rational was that we were upgrading from a full, and if we were going to spend all that money, I wanted it to be BIG. A queen wouldn't have been that much bigger, but a king just feels huge. It was a huge pain to replace all our bedding and blankets, and to not be able to share them between all our beds any more. But it was well worth it.

A king is so so great now that we have 2 kids and a dog. Everyone can pile in (and they usually do!).

We have a King and we love it. We literally sleep on opposite firmness levels, DH being a pillow top guy and I'm a concrete gal. We each have a different mattress pushed together in a King frame and therefore both get the comfort level we want.

We got a king this last year all because I just couldn't sleep well in our previous Q. DH is a flopper, I get all sweaty & we play tug of war with the covers.
I LOVE the space in our K, but it did suck to have to get new bedding & headboard. We also don't cuddle as much as before, but I do sleep better, which makes this mama-to-be much less grumpy.
