Enough with the kitchen table questions!

If you have bench seating at your kitchen table, when could your kids sit on the bench without fidgeting or sliding around? We had been planning to do four chairs and a bench- so two chairs along the side further from wall, one on each end, and the bench on the side closer to the wall. But I'm wondering if my almost 3.5 year old will be able to sit on the bench anytime soon. She sits in a booster type seat now- she insists on it since the baby is in a high chair.

So do you like or dislike the bench seating?
