I'm always curious how relationships evolve over time.
Ladies: was your SO a better boyfriend or a better husband/SO? Gentlemen (if you're out there): was your SO a better gf or a better wife/SO?

DH was a pretty phenomenal boyfriend, but I actually get a little emotional thinking about what an amazing husband he's been - so I'll go with better as a husband! And thinking about him being a Dad just totally gets me teary-eyed!

@mrbee: what about Mrs Bee?
He's a better husband than boyfriend. And he's a better husband than he first was. Because, we just keep getting better!

DH wasn't the best boyfriend at first. He was kind of immature and didn't know how to be affectionate. After a year of training (...ahem, I mean...dating) he lost a lot his boyish tendencies that I didn't care for. He was a little bit of a bad boy at first...but a few years went by and he really started to grow up. I was more attracted to him went I saw his responsible side. He was great then, better as a fiancé and is amazing as a husband.
I always think of that Tim McGraw song, "I may be a real bad boy but baby I'm a real good man" when looking back on our relationship, lol.

He's definitely a better husband. In my head, pretty much nothing changed when we got married- I loved him as much as I always had, but I had a new last name and it was "official." To him, many things changed. It was like a lightbulb went off in his head and he was ready to be a man instead of a "college boy" (we got married at 21/22). With that said, he's been an amazing husband!

Husband! It doesn't even really compare ... especially now that I think of him as a dad. He is a great dad.

Going to be in the minority here.....DH was a bit better at being a boyfriend. Eep! He's a wonderful husband and I've truly lucked out with him, but when we were dating he was super romantic all the time and brought me flowers at least once a week, now he's in a more comfortable routine. To be honest, I think I just miss getting flowers all the time.

Hubs was a better boyfriend...But that's not to say he isn't a wonderful husband, too!

DH wasn't the best boyfriend, but he's a great husband! I feel like boyfriends are supposed to be good at the little stuff- romantic dates, gifts, etc and husbands need to be better with the big stuff like making responsible choices that put the family first, supporting their wives through big things like starting a family/illness/the death of loved ones. DH isn't the best at little romantic gestures, but he is a hell of a man for all the grown up and best friend stuff that he is awesome at!

He's great at both! He was an awesome bf because he was such a gentleman. He would always open doors for me, etc. But now his hands are full with LO, all of her crap, or the pup, so he can't do that. But that's because he's too busy being an awesome daddy and husband!

DH was a good boyfriend but he is definitely a better hubby. I can't wait for LO to arrive because I know he'll be an even better father.

I think my husband is a better husband because he feels more secure in our relationship.
